This is actually a very good point that I agree entirely with. Personally, I don't drink. I don't drink because I would never drink enough to get drunk. If you just have a few beers, which I used to, you don't really feel much different, or at least I didn't. So, what was the point of that? It wasn't any fun, and it's unhealthy. So I decided not to have any sort of alcohol anymore. Call me a loser, but that's my take.

I drink like I smoke. Only in social situations. Drinking alone adds the psychological issues...same with smoking. If it's social, it's a different kind of psychological standpoint.

Lies!

I second this. Alcohol doesn't taste bad at all, but it is an acquired taste. When I first started drinking (at the age of 15... god I'm a chav. :() I couldn't stand the taste of lagers. I think that firstly you get more accustomed to the taste and secondly your taste buds change as you get older, so it doesn't taste quite so bitter.

Also, I second...

...this. I seriously do not understand how people can drink on their own. It just seems really tragic to me, but a lot of my friends will have a beer or two before bed or while they're playing on xbox live. Why they can't just pop into the pub and have a chat if they fancy a quick drink is beyond me.

So yeah, whos up for a drink? I'll get the first round in. :D

Merry Christmas! Peace on earth and good will toward men (and women).

How can you say alcohol tastes bad when you can buy the same flavours of alcoholic drinks as you can none alcoholic.

Also adam you're a twat, but we all already knew that anyway. "Ohh I've only just discovered caffeine so I'm gonna drink lots of red bull and stay up all night". Grow up.

Wow! You guys are killing me! lol I'm starting my practicum January 5th and I'm going to be doing a lot of drug and alcohol counseling. Anyway, I can't drink until tomorrow because even though I'm home from work, I have to bake and wrap presents. Someone wrap for me? There's not a lot, I promise! :D

It's good with coke, never had it with vimto though haha. I might have to try that. It's also good with blackcurrant, orange, lemonade etc. pretty much anything - however unless it's a decent vodka don't drink it straight.

Baileys is good.

I received a 3G 16 GB iPhone, approximately 15 games for my 360 and 15 games for my Wii, a lot of candy, $600, a lot of accessories for my 360, and quiet a few American Eagle and Abercrombie hoodies.

Made me feel younger again. :P

Merry Christmas! The only thing I got was kinda boring (new brakes for my car lol) so far anyway. I just woke up and hate the fact that I can't sleep late today because I have to go up north to help my Dad before going to my Uncle's for dinner.

Merry Christmas! What goodies did everyone get this year?

I got a really nice digital camera (and a load of accessories for it), some clothes, a Snoopy DVD, some aftershave, a windup toy, Terry Pratchett's new book and a metric crapload of chocolate. :D Oh, and a card from my brother that read: "Tiny Little Penis" on the front.

Guitar Hero World Tour, Infinite Undiscovery, and The Last Remnant.

Also got 3 Celtic woman CD's, and the new AC/DC Black Ice CD.

Got my own student Bible.

My favorite though, was tickets to a Celtic Woman Concert in Atlanta on the 24th of March.

Clothes too. Also got a second monitor, so I can use 2, or hook my Xbox 360 up to one. I'm looking forward to Hi-def Xbox graphics, which is something I have yet to experience. I got The Last Remnant, and Infinite Undiscovery, just for a few long games to entertain myself.

I basically only got $ (so far) and 4 sets of brakes for my car, which means that the total of my gifts = about $1200 (that includes the labor of putting the brakes on).

That's not a bad gift. It could be a lifesaver. And the only reason I got a new razor was because my old one was getting all dull and nasty. I'm not as young as you all may picture me.

It's a 2000 but I had about 38,000 miles on those brakes without a brake job. We think the back brakes were originals since they were GM brakes, so we don't know. I never did them when I got the car because they were ok but all 4 brakes were very rusted when they were taken off. I went down a hill and hit the brakes and got grinding, so I was like ooo this isn't good! I wish I could've taken a company car that day but it's hard to get one :/ Unfortunately now the car has to go back to the mechanic tomorrow because I have a check engine light, so I'm really pissed :(

Ah, I see. That's why I probably wouldn't buy an American made car, and I pretty much try to buy everything American made. But the cars just don't do it for me. That's probably why the American auto-makers are having such issues. I don't think 4 breaks should need replacement after 38,000 miles, but then again, I don't really know much about cars :)

My back brakes were very likely to be originals to the car, which means that they may have had 108,000 miles on them. The fronts the mechanic said that I probably had a rock caught in them or something because they got grooved out pretty badly. If they didn't groove, I probably would've been able to have a normal brake job and put another 10,000 miles on them. Though my mechanic was impressed that I put about 38,000 on them for 4 1/2 years without a brake job. He told me that I need to use my brakes to which I told him that it's basically all highway miles.
