As if you haven't even been to a mac shop, or just wandered round PC World one day and had a go on one?

Well for the sake of correctness, you're more of a geek than a nerd. Nerds only care about school, while geeks are people who are obsessed with something non-education related, such as computers.
I'm neither really, I was just trying to concisely say, "I don't go out anymore". I can't stand stereotypes ;|

I really don't know I've not really thought about it like that. I guess the more I think about it, I don't view work as important at all and so it's not hard to balance it. I don't do that much work for college, especially outside of college time I do hardly anything. I'll probably come out with shit grades, but I'm already working doing two of the things I love doing and I guess I was lucky in finding them early in life.

As for web design jobs I do I (usually) leave myself plenty time to do it, and its flexible enough so that if someone asks me if I want to go out I can always say yes. The lighting jobs I take on they're not flexible and take up a lot of time but I have friends who are technicians as well so there's always somebody there to talk to and have a laugh with pre, during and after the shows. I make more than enough money doing websites when I feel like it than what I need, and I don't work that often - just when i want/need some more cash..

I wish I went out more with my mates though, they're more important than work, money or any of that. It's all about the people you know and do life with.

Pretty good band, quite popular and unsigned right now. I own the .com and .net version of their name. Hopefully It'll bring a nice ROI. If not, I'll develop a fansite so it doesn't look like I bought them with the intent on making a tidy profit ;)

You should get into Flash game development. You can spend the same amount of time, or quite commonly, less, and make probably 3-4x the amount you do in web development.

There are 2 ways. One way is to put ads in your game. However, the profit from this can be low. The best way at making money is through sponsorship. This is when a site pays you (large amounts, most of the time) to put their logo at the beginning of your game. If you ever play games with, for example, the Armor Games logo in the beginning, then that game has been sponsored by Armor Games. This site is much better for explaining: http://flashgamesponsorship.com

When you 'close' a window, it just gets minimized to the dock. Try opening another instance of the same application - oh wait, it's the same window as you closed earlier.

Because Apple use a document centric model, not an application centric model (like in Windows). Thus, if you close an application's window, it doesn't quit. Having only one instance of that program means there's only need for the one taskbar at the top of the screen, rather than having the taskbar in every single window on Windows.

So, for Apple - one app, many documents. Microsoft, many apps with one document in each. Both have their tradeoffs.

Ok so on the Mac subject. I know that Adobe Premiere Elements (windows) and Adobe Premiere 6.5 (mac) are similar but Premiere has a little more to it. My client was editing videos and it was around 3:30 when the mac froze. It had to be rebooted. They had everything up and running again and not even 2 minutes later the damn thing froze again. So they had to reboot again. Any ideas?

What is it you do at the minute? I applied for a job a couple of weeks ago which would have been working for a lighting company - but I've not heard anything from them :(

I'll try get some photos up from gigs I've done though soon when I get my hands on some.

I should have read your post. You said you were gonna post pics so I assumed. Currently im a bum or freelance developer. My last job was working in a school, but it was only tempoary. Apart from that nothing I have done counts as real work as its all freelance.

That dosnt include my mechanics stuff because I didnt finish that and didnt get my papers. And I have applied to loads ofplaces. I have even registered with a fet IT recrutment agencies. While im the type of person compaines are looking for. I want to do my honours year so I can go for full-time jobs just yet.

Meaning im stuck with looking for part-time crap and they dont really have much of them near me that would also give me enough time to study. I even applied to be a prison assistant. Because its a really gool job to have. But still havnt heard back.

And I wont work in McDonalds! I have my reasons.

I've had that experience with older Macs before. Of course, video editing requires a lot of processor power, it simply might have overloaded your client's Mac. How old is the Mac in question?

Intentional, haha.
I emailed the band suggesting that it would be cool if I set up a site for them and they were all for it and said they'd happily participate in the running of it. This hopefully means I can set up a site that's going to be popular, which in turn means exposure for me as a programmer and something good for my portfolio.

If that happens, it would be awesome, however In reality, I foresee this going tits up, lmao.

- my dads very presence angers me (as usual); but this time he thinks i've been bullied and has phoned my mum up to talk about it..?
- my plans for tonight have been obliterated
- a can of dr pepper, has just literally fell off my desk and exploded everywhere, my xbox, tv, computer, clothes, carpet, paperwork etc. is now covered in dr pepper

I've never had luck with girls, but I'm sure it'll work out okay. Maybe she isn't 100% sure about whether she really likes you, so she wants to find out more by being friends?

Don't worry, we'll still be here ;)

I did that with lucozade. Any well designed stuff won't be harmed, I dropped a full bottle onto my PC and it just got sticky :3

Been there, done that, got several thousand t-shirts. Easiest solution, move on. It's not worth the pain, effort and trouble trying to convince her otherwise. Plenty more fish in the sea.

Not a clue how to answer this. Kick his ass? :P

Spilt beer all over my keyboard, desk and floor. It was fine the day after. Hopefully Dr Pepper should be the same.
