I just got back from one of the most awesome jam sessions ever. A friend who moved away a year or two ago, then came back, called me today. I went over to his house and we just played (he's an amazing bass player, and I play drums). It was then decided we needed a guitar player. And so Mike was called. It was awesome :D

Sounds cool! Jamming is great! I used to play the piano but that ended in high school and I just haven't had the time to pick it back up again :(

Yeah but how old is the stuff that you have? Like I said, their older printers were nice because they lasted. With today's "throw away" standards, their newer stuff is crap. Like I said though, we have an old 4 in one that's gotta be at least 10 years old now, still copies, prints and faxes just fine and that's all we had for years and it hasn't died yet, which is nice. I just happen to think that their "C" size printer (that's blueprint paper size) that we have is terrible.

Nah, we haven't thought of a name. We wanted to try just each saying a random word and putting them together...we'll see.

I'm an Acer man myself. The first computer I ever worked with was an Acer, and it's still kicking at my grandmas house. That computer is like 8-10 years old or something like that.

Coool.

So do you help your grandma with the computer?

Last weekend, we actually brought an old computer over to my grandpas's because he wanted to use one.

He's 90, and it was his first time, and he's getting the hang of the mouse. His apartment is so old that we had to convert the phone line in the room into an actual usable phone like by like connecting these wires. It was pretty funny.

I just think it's amazing. My dad tells me 15 years ago he never thought he'd see the day where everyone uses a computer, the elderly, everyone. Pretty cool though.

My first computer was an IBM clone that we had gotten when I was about 3 or 4 yrs old (say 20-21 yrs ago - boy do I feel old now lol). Anyway, that thing still worked (DOS) but Dad threw it out because it really wasn't worth saving. My first actual computer that I got that had Windows 92 on it was a Packard Bell, I was in the 7th grade, it had something like a 75 MHz processor & I think 32 MB of RAM. I believe that one of my Mom's friends still uses it.

Haha. I'm trying to remember Windows 95. The earlies I've used in the last few months was 98, which was a few days ago.

So I'm in AP Comp Sci now.

We've been doing tests in Java to see which sorting method (insertion, selection) is the most efficient.

It's kind of cool.

My first comp was a 486 =P
My grandfather has a comp toon he started with an old 600Mhz we gave him, now he's running an nice 1.6Ghz comp. Good enough for running Word and sometimes Excel ^^

But yeah, the good 486 days with DOS and Windows 3.11... *looks back*

Dude! When I had the 382 there was no such thing as Windows yet lol. We still run an old Mac here at the shop that's over 20 yrs old (2nd power supply though). Hey! Storing programs and sending them to the machines is all it's really used for anyway, so no need for it to run anything else to actually kill it.

Sure do, the first comp I ever used was one that my dad got from work that had windows 3.1 on it. I remember having to set up different boots or some crap for dos games so it was either windows or dos game becuase it was to much for it to do both

I didn't have much time in the book shop so as i have had experience with the "For Dummies" books, i grabbed C++ For Dummies :)

Author: Stephen Randy Davis

Luckily, the book recomends Dev-C++ and thats what i use =D

I dislike the For Dummies books =/ They always think I'm stupid. Tried reading one on C once.

Yeah, they do assume you are somebody who has only been using a computer for a day and don't even know how to open up a program :(

Yeah, its really anoying, and also, its likely that it doesnt really teach as much as a "real" book on programming.
My first programming book was "The C Programming Lenguage" excelent book, just excelent.
