A had a quick mooch at TS, its not bad at all. Lots of good ideas going on their.
I dont know about flatfiles, I know why you used them, basically the purpose for the whole CMS so DB integration will not hurt and some people prefare databases.
A will dowload it a little later, have a quick look through the code, see all the interesting bits and bobs.
Good luck with the project.

Anyway I noticed recently people saying "hey you guys are nice" is the rest of this BBS really that bad....? a have only been in the polatics forum and this forum, the others just dont interest me enough. But a didnt think it was full of assholes or whatever you want to call them.

A guess its funny in a way, people trying to act hard, and trying to show their better than other people, or trying to pwn them....What a waste of time.

^_^

It can depend. General can be pretty bad some times. It depends on your post count and exp, theres a lot of divide between the lower and higher levels and posters. Once people see you around a bit it's okay, you start to recognise people after a while and people back you up if someone tries to flame you.

A guess a can see the sense in that.
But I didnt honestly think people cared that much about post counts or exp points....

A mean I could have been here for ages and not bothered to post anything.
Or posted lots of crap.

HaHaHa Shows what a know (or dont) in the BBS world....

Wonder what the regulars of other forums on NG think of the regulars here...?

Why do I have the feeling you can't tell the A key from the I key?

:D sorry about that I normaly say 'a' rather than 'I' so its that more than anything.

Example.

Proper english = I want a packet of crips.
Scottish = A want a paket a criss.

So im trying my hardest to type normally but sometimes I forget :)

Couldn't care less. A lot of the people that are regs here are regs in other forums as well, because this forum moves slower than a dead cow.

BTW CitricSquid thinks I am the bestest.

Well you probaly are the bestest :P
Not that it matters, were all usefull at different things.

And this forum isnt that slow, Ive known slower forums.
Thats partly the reason im here now.

And being short of free time, a would probaly miss stuff if it moved faster.
So its at a good pace for me.

Ok why is it that people who can't do HTML or design to save their lives think that they can make a professional website? I mean come on!

Eh I'm off to an 11 yr old's bday party.

Unless you give a decent argumentation about that, you're a retard.

4 so far according to the log (that can't be right!)

At 5/12/07 09:59 AM, elbekko wrote: It looks great, but only one small suggestion: when logged in, put a link to the admin interface in the left menu instead of having to click 'edit this page' or 'editor'. It would be much more straighforward :)

We did the links in the footer so that there's some separation between that menu and the editor links. Rather than doing an ala WordPress like style we decided the separation would work better. You could effectively have sections called editor/log out (it's not likely!). It's nice also for TS to have it's own set of links.

Of course you can mess around with the stylesheet and position them right at the top of the screen or do anything else you want with them.

Thanks. :-)

That sentence doesn't read properly. :-)

We use flat files because they're most efficient. If you want to use a database, there are plenty of good database managed cmsystems. Also TS is perfect for people who have a ridiculous host that doesn't provide a database. You can run a great CMS on PHP alone.

Good luck with the project.

Thanks again :-)

Found a bug!

<div id="header" class="headerHello World"><h1>Typescript 1&middot;0</h1></div>

When having a section named 'Hello World' ;) I suggest you run a regex on this to replace all non-letters to underscores or so.

Oh, and please, for the love of god, clean up the code. It hurts my eyes to see something coded in the

if(stuff) {
more stuff
} else {
other stuff
}

style. Really.

No Aunt Jess didn't get him Dreamweaver for his birthday. As far as I know, he's really computer illiterate and isn't allowed on the computer much. He does have computer games though.

I don't like it either, but Ray coded most of it and he doesn't use the tabbed style of coding. I prefer:

if (stuff)
{
...........more stuff (tabbed line)
}
else
{
...........other stuff
}

Had a bit of a bad night last night.

Cant be arsed to write out the whole story but to cut it short, i ended up getting pretty drunk and making an absoloute ass of myself before drinking myself even stupider and walking around in the rain at 4am.

Dont remember all the details but im sure not lookin forward to tomorrow and having to look a few people straight in the eye.

How was everyone else's weekend?

Nothing much, exchanged a cable box for the second time so I can use a $3 HDMI cable (bought it off of amazon). Though I'm now trying to convince my family to get DVR which will cause another cable box exchange...

Actually there has been something i've been trying to do, I've been trying to compare Weird Al's Amish Paradise to Coolio's Gangsta's Paradise by listening to both of them at the same time, just to see how identical they're since Al's is a pretty damn good parody.

Now wasn't that a long sentence...

The cable vision DVR is AWESOME. I have one in the living room and we use it a lot.

It's worth the extra $15 a month.
