Hey guys. Awesome club thing here.

Here's my newest picture. Reverse macro of my dog's eye. Exciting, no?

A bit noisy because of the high ISO.

Hope double posting isn't a big deal. Here's a picture of my dog's nose, even more exciting. Taken at the same time as the eye.

I love this. I'm a macro user and this close up the shallow depth of field is put to very good use, it makes it even more surreal.

Hey photographers of NG, I have a question for you. I'm thinking about taking a picture of a man in the bathroom, looking in the mirror. I want to edit it in the darkroom so that the face on the reflection in the mirror is missing. I was thinking about doing this by just putting a slip of paper or something over the reflection's face when I'm using the enlarger. Do you think there is a better/easier way of doing this so it looks natural, but at the same time stands out?

Hopefully you understand what I'm getting at; I can take pictures, but I'm not too good with all the photography terms.

Photoshopping is not an option, and it's in black and white (which helps a lot).

Interesting idea, it would work well with an older man, but if you use a student, try to make them not look like they really are.

With putting a slip of paper over, you have to be carefull, because that would make a noticable white spot, which would probably make the mirror look like a poster or sign :/

I would suggest using a tripod - taking one picture of it with the person in frame and one of just the background, then in the enlarger expose only half of your sheet with the neggitive of the man, and then the other with the neggitive of just the background. If you don't understand I can clarify

That's exactly what I was worrying about, mostly.

That's really futuristic looking, I really like it.

The thing I mentally see when looking at that is an intergalactic games arcade.

The handlebars look like old Dance Dance Revolution bars.

Great.

Thanks a bunch. :)

The dimensions of this picture are 2048x1536 originally, so it got smushed down quite a bit, so excuse the quality.

I can relate. Last time I went on a photospree was... 2 weeks ago or something. I must've filled the entire card, I only really liked 3 or 4 of them enough to keep.

quick question.

I'm thinkign of getting into photography, but i am one camera and a couple of hundred dollars short.

I found a Nikon bridge camera in a local shop for roughly 200 euro, from what i gather these kind of cameras are like digital cameras with a smaller sensor than DSLRs, but have some of their advantages and functions, like adjustable shutter speed, aperture and ISO settings...

apparently you can't change the lenses, unlike bad ass digital SLR's but still you can add enhancements for macro and stuff...

my point being : would it be a good idea to buy one of these bridge cameras for getting into photography? i would like to go for a DSLR but unfortunately, I dont have the cash, and point and shoot cameras seem to take away the fun of it.
