The water looks really nice in this one. The way the light bounces off it is really cool.

I love some of these pictures on this thread!

I just recently bought a Canon Rebel XTi and here is a picture i took with it just yesterday. Hope you like it =)

The thing i really like about it, it how, at full dimensions (camera dimensions), you can see distinct lines in the toad's iris! (I'm not sure if they can be seen in this scaled down image...)

Midnight.

Taken on my street at midnight during a Thunderstorm. 2.5 second exposure at ISO 1600 (Sorry about any seen grainyness because of the high ISO...)

Early Morning Flight

This picture is a bit older then the previous 2. It was taken with...a Sony CyberShot I believe...I cant remember. I couldnt sleep the night before, so i decided to walk to the local park and photograph the sunrise. As I watched the sunrise, a jet started flying overhead. This is the end result.

(This picture is slightly edited: I upped the saturation and contrast a bit after loading it into iPhoto...)

Its of a train track right by my house, I was in a moving car when I took it...
I had to make it a lot smaller for NG.

Wow... I know I don't usually like your pictures, but THIS is... beautiful. It's well-composed (on of the rare times when a central composition looks good), and the colors are just amazing. The way the sun reflects right at the feet, the way the sky's colors are reflected in the water, the pools in the sand.. it's amazing!! Do you have a high-res version? I'd love to have it, if you're willing to e-mail it to me. I'll PM you.

It's such a shame, this photo had great potential, but unfortunately this sort of thing is difficult to re-do, although with lots of patience, you may be able to. Basically, its only flaw is that you moved while taking the picture, so it's got a bit of double-image going on. Also, the orange bit is distracting, but that's easily edited out.

If it was sharp and clear, perhaps in soft-focus or with some cheesecloth over the lens, this picture would be amazing. I wouldn't put it into black and white, either, the soft colors are beautiful.

I'm not really commenting on any photos I didn't really like, so if you want my opinion for some reason, just point out which one's yours and I'll give it. :]

I figured since theres very little chance It would get seen to much on my userpage alone, but I don't want to make a thread about it, I'd post this here. I'm making a photo of the week contest! And I'm hoping to get some advise with it. anyone have any ideas?

don't post on this thread, It would be pointless. post a comment on my userpage.

does everyone here use digital?

i just got my new prakitika bx20 from ebay, its a gorgeous optical camera from at least like 20 years old, considering its tagged as being made in the German Democratic Republic.
it was only 30 quid inc P&P so it was more than worth it. its really awesome.

anyone else use film cameras still?
quality = 100 times better

I've always liked this thread and it's been going for so long, so every now and again I'm going to post a few images just to try and revive it to it's former glory.

I really like this one, would have been nicer if with a plain black background but it's too much hassle to edit it and I think it looks better seeing that it's in the moment and not posed..

I'm not a fan of extremely high contrast images but this one just seemed right. In the bottom right you can see where my wide angle converter ruins the picture by making black curves..

Looks like a poorly taken photo, To me the definition of a true photo, is an image that makes the person looking faint with splendor.

An image that when gazed at makes the person look let out a gasp of dis-belief as the beauty of the beautifly crisp image is almost as good as if seeing it in Real life.

2 pence (im english).

That's more like it , but it still dosen't wow me , Snow seems like the perfect photography material, the lush whiteness of it , the way the air grasps hold of the flakes and gently holds them up in the air :3

Then surely when you walk down the street everyone will be gasping in disbelief because everything looks fantastic in real life?

Seems to me that you're in love with HD television.

Most people do , if you reach the top of a mountain and look at the landscape or find the perfect view from your room. People do gasp.

It's just having a hard copy of that 1 image, somthing to store the beauty.

Fuck HD Tv.
