I've been listening to a lot of Gorillaz lately, and I was trying to work with FL studio, and I play guitar, and some keyboards/pianos. I have no idea what kind of Keyboard to get, but I want one. How does this,http://samash.com/ca..tment&GroupCode

I would reccomend the Korg Kontrol49 as a midi controller. It's absolutely phenominal for its low price of $499.99.

I'll never look back on Korg now that I have this beauty, I found everything worked right out of the box for FL Studio, Reason 3.0 and others.

casio ?...no way.it's cheap and crappy.ifyou use fruity you need only a midi controler.
i would strongly recomend a M-Audio "Oxygen" or "Radium". i work with that and i'm very satisfied.

Calling a company "Cheap and Crappy" is huge generalization. Casio does have a few good products out there (I've got one), but generally, you get what you pay for. As people before me said, a midi controller is all you need. I would recommend at least 61 keys (if this is your primary controller). I prefer weighted action, but you may prefer semi-weighted or synth action. Generally, synth action is the cheapest.

Evolution mk-449C. Around 120 quid sterling, i've spilt apple juice on it and toppled it from standing on its side and nothing broke.

Good keyboard, shame i have no clue how to use it properly after all this time.

I have the 61 key varient of that, +4 rotary controllers. Its as robust as hell, feels great to play and, considering its a 61 full size keyboard, is extremely portable. Combine with a laptop with an external soundcard loaded with VST's, and you've got yourself a powerful portable softsynth.

Oh also, I do recommend synth action for keyboards. It dosn't feel as good as weigted, granted, but I find its a lot eaisier to play really, really fast on synth action, and they're also a hell of a lot more responsive to velocity (touch sensitivity) than weighted keys.

It is no doubt it is easier to play quickly on synth action, but I disagree with your thoughts about velocity. I find it much much easier to sqeeze out softer sounds on a weighted keyboard than synth action. Granted, a lot of it has to do with velocity response settings, but I think you play more 'musically' with a weighted keyboard.

Its nice for $179.99, I agree. I've heard almost any Korg midi controller is a great long-term option for studio equipment.

Korg hasn't disappointed me yet with a keyboard, I have been fond of every 'board of their's I've touched thus far. The only thing you need to be aware of about that controller is that there are no knobs, so if you think you will be doing a lot of knob turning by hand, that isn't the solution for you.

Theres no doubt korg are good. In fact, theres so little doubt that korg are good people will gladly pay for the extra mark up on the price, even when they come with less features than their competitors.

Maybe theres some kind of quality that i'm not aware of :S

While with some products you pay more simply for the name, Korgs are very solid items and worth the extra cash. Every Korg I've seen has stood the test of time. I'd take any Korg over a Yamaha any day, and this is coming from a guy who has owned Yamaha keyboards for 10+ years.
