Oh, sorry I complained then. I didn't see it in my box though. But it only took me 15 seconds to figure out what happened by searching the portal for crap I've submitted, so no harm done.

It's good for some people to get their names, but hopefully none of my friends lost their account since they don't go on too much. Also the 10 meg is going to do wonders for some people. Anyways there are still over 1,000,000 users which is good.

Are the bigger file size limits permanent or just a temporary thing?

I think all of these criticisms of thr new file sixe limit are falling on deaf ears :s

Even if it stays, I really think you need to do more to persuade people to optimise. So far all you have is some vague stuff about reducing its chance of being featured and stuff.

This system has already been abused. I just blammed a crappy stick movie that was 8000kb. Thats not supposed to happen. I had to wait more than a minute to vote on it.,

That is an excellent idea.
Clearing out the dead crap means higher levels quicker, and more storage space.

Well, i've been reading about people worrying some n00bs submitting crap movies with the new 10 meg limit. So I decided to take a look at the situation. Now after taking a look at every movie over 5 megs i have to admit that it was a great idea. Unfortually you didn't think of all the n00bs. 10 megs allows them to spam more, worry less about optimizing and have more crap in their movie. On the other hand, there were several quality movies not even near to 5 megs.

I'm not too happy with the size limit change. Already there's a hoard of rubbish flashes entering the portal, where the authors just hasn't bothered to compress the audio. It was a lot better before, when you were guarenteed a good flash when you saw one at 6Megs, because you were safe in the knowlege that it had to obtain an admin's discretion before entering. Now it's hard to tell if it's worth wasting your time and download limit when seing a large flash, which is quite irritating.

the 2 MB rule was horrid, kudos for getting rid of it. The 5MB-10MB raise is an added bonus. great to see all these improvements to the site.

My account says that my username(Dark_critical AND I KNOW THAT IT HAS ALL CHANGED) never excisted now since i always forget my password i never log out but now evrything changed i cant write reviews or submit flashes and my account won't go up cuzz i cant access it since i cant log out, evrytime i try it just brings me to frontpage and not logd out. If someone knows how to solve this problem HELP ME PLEASE if not go read other posts.

This is a great day for Animutators around the world, some of the more complex 'mutations have larger file sizes because we use alot of bitmaps...but FINALLY! We can finally share our bigger animutations without worry or extra hassle!

I think removing the blam limit is an excellent idea; it gives people the opportunity to improve. However, I'm not a fan of a 10mb upload limit for everyone. There's too much opportunity for abuse there.

What about a combination of the old and new systems? New users who have no submissions could have a 5mb limit, but after three successful submissions, the limit would be raised to 10mb. A batting average minimum might also help, since people with extremely low batting averages aren't likely to make good use of the extra space. Obviously there'll be a few newcomers who will genuinely need more than 5mb, but they could be approved by admins as before.

These three things can shave megs off a big submission.

But I wonder how many people will bother reading (or caring about) that before submitting.

I'm grateful for the changes you're making, and I think they're mostly great ideas. This file size thing does worry me a bit, though.

I especially like the new upload limit. Though I only ever had one problem with it, it's still good to have the comfort of knowing I can submit my cartoon without worrying about having to remove parts.
