It's pretty damn funny, although I still say that anything where you refer to yourself as "SuperDyke" and pattern your persona after that would be the greatest thing ever...but I'm biased because I came up with it : p

OMG SO MANY REPLIES....
First things first!
PJ!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DAWG!!!
WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?
I've sent a bunch of emails, I don't know if you ever got them... I was worried about you, just disappearing like that! Please, stay a while, don't go AWOL again, man.
So you heard, the PC is dead, sadly, it just didn't have the power to move on it's own anymore. After a couple of failed attempts to revive it, me and Andrea decided to just tank the whole thing. I still have a ton of PC material on my PC, though. We did say that we'd like to start a new crew, but we want it to be something like what the PC was meant to be, not what it ended up as. Tme will tell.
Seriously, though... What's up? How've you been? How are you now? Send me an email, man.

Re: Firefox/Mozilla skin
Wow... thanks for all the comments, guys. I'll go through them one by one...
At 2/23/05 08:48 PM, TEHWHITEMALE wrote: Shrike, I'll help out testing your skin. It looks alright, I knew what it was, but.. never.. got... around to... commenting.... Make it nice and pwurty, and I would consider using. Make sure the big buttons are smallish though. I hate huge ones.
Well, it's going to be the 'normal' size first, then I'm going to take my experience and make a more compact version. There's a ton of CSS to trawl through, and getting this far has been no piece of cake. I'd prefer a less chunky UI with smaller buttons, too, but I'm still learning what needs to be changed, how to change it, and yadda yadda yadda. I'll put you down for the testing, ok?
At 2/23/05 09:32 PM, Maus wrote: I do not liek teh Firefox. I cling to my Safari. I only use Mozilla for mail and IRC. It looks snazzy, but a bit chunky for my personal tastes.
Would you consider helping me test it in Mozilla for Mac?
This theme should work for both Mozilla and Firefox, although I haven't tested it in Mozilla yet. I'm still working out all the kinks in Firefox. On the other hand, this theme *should* work in Mozilla, too, although I expect that making it 100% Mozilla compatible will take a few tweaks
At 2/23/05 09:44 PM, -Michael- wrote: Shrike, I'd also like to help you test your skin. I'd test it under 800x600 screen resolution since I'm stuck with an old 10 year old monitor that needs to be replaced.
Sweet! I mean... Sorry to hear that, but I was dreading testing this out on a lower resolution system. I know you'll give great feedback, so thanks! I'll add you to the list.
At 2/23/05 10:48 PM, IllustriousPotentate wrote: While I have firefox, I don't use it very much, though with Shrike's skin, that could easily change.

For Everyone
The skin will be ready for first-round testing as soon as I get a word from Tom or Wade. It isn't complete yet, and I won't be finished overnight, so it probably won't be complete for a few weeks. Right now, it hasn't been tested on Mozilla or Firefox for Windows, but it should work fine for both. I'm still workig out this infuriating lil bug where javascript/firefox popup dialogs are white text on a white BG, so I'd suggest anyone not familiar with the theme setting in firefox to go ahead and take a look around that area, and see where everything is. You probably won't want to use this theme 24/7 until it is complete, so knowing how to change themes ahead of time would be virtuous.
Ok, so far, skunk, rugby, mike, venom, dak, and possibly ill & maus seem interested in helping test it. Any other takers?
Thanks for all the comments and input and yeah... thanks, guys.

Actually, it will be ready for it's first trial run after I hear from Tom or Wade. I'll keep working on, and updating it, and hopefully I'll already be at work on the compact version by then. =]

In due time. I'm finished with Parrot Hunt, but I want to wait, and release it with some other new flashes I'm working on. Those others are collabs, so it's not my timeline. Be happy.

Hey, PJ!
Yeah, the P.C. died shortly after my vacation from NG started. It basically died and though Shrike made reference to revival attempts, I can't recall them. The whole BWS thing was a signal of our end, I suppose.
We will revive it at some point, purely as it was designed, as a group of regular Politics posters. Foka was our artist for the PC movie, so when he dissapeared it all fell through. That sig-pic slideshow thing is all there is, sadly.
Glad you're back, though. Stay and chat with us!
Shrike- I'd test your skin as well, Shrike. I use Firefox with Windows XP Pro, if you need to know. I'd be glad to test it, just let me know when.
Dan- Yes, you r teh regular.

Crap. I hate double posting but this can't wait.
We have a big problem at the ranch that belongs to us. There are parrots in the corn.
Thousands and thousands of parrots in the corn. Not macaws so far, but the green small parrots. Thousands and thousands in the corn. And it's people corn! Thousands and thousands of parrots in the eatable corn! And we have no idea how to get rid of the thousands and thousands of parrots in the corn. Bar shooting them and placing dynamite traps in the corn. Now we already take guns out into the fields to pwn wild pigs, but one or two shotguns against the thousands and thousands of parrots in the corn? Not working at all! Not that we have already, but I'm sure it would hardly work.
Now if the parrots were really local, and since this is the mating season, we'd move their nests or blow them up. But the thousands and thousands of parrots in the corn do not have nests near our ranch! They are elsewhere! And we would probably make a fortune catching and selling them all, but they are thousands and thousands of parrots in the corn! There are too many of them!
Does anyone have any suggestions? I'd have a picture if I could, but that's probably not till next week.

Around here farmers scare off birds with constant M80 explosions. In fact the only way to get access to M80s is to order them from Fish and Game. The shotgun thing sounds like it might be a lot of fun though, if there are as many as you say you might be able to get several with one shot.

It's such a pity that they're parrots. If they were swine or filthy birds that couldn't imitate us, I'd be there with a automatic shotgun to take care of things.

*Silly Canadian*
An M80 is kind of like a firecracker on steroids. It's about three inches long and 1 inch in diameter and makes a very loud boom, as I understand it they have about the same explosive power as an 1/8 of a stick of dynamite. The best part is that unlike a chery bomb they sink when thrown into a body of water and send gallons of water flying into the air like those videos of nukes going off in the Pacific. That's how I fish.

I couldn't find anything that specifically mentions parrots but you do have a variety of options. Noisemakers seem to be effective, flashing lights work during the early morning hours and dogs can also be a good way to force them to leave.
http://nwco.net/0530-StepThree.../5-5-FrighteningTechniques.asp
I would go with the explosion method because you would get to blow shit up.

While the majority of what Befell said was true about M80's, they have actually been banned under federal law since the 1970's, along with the M80's older brother the Quarterstick, and the infamous Cherry Bomb. You can still buy so called "legal equivalents" of all three, but they have no where near the effectiveness their predecessors did.
I do seem to remember a few years ago when M1000's hit the news... someone in Nashville acquired on through various means so they could demonstrate how deadly a blackmarket firecracker could be. The M1000 they detonated sounded like a cannon going off, and the watermelon it was stuck in was reduced to atomic particles.

Are the M80s Fish and Game supplies only legal equivilents? I know they have an elongated tube so they do more bang and less boom.
