Oh... I've been meaning to post this lately but haven't gotten the chance to.

My dad is doing fine. During his cardiac-catheterization test this past monday to determine how blocked his coronary artery was, the doctors determined that it was in fact more than 90% blocked. They went ahead and put two stints in, prescribed him 7 different medications to take, and gave him a diet to follow. He gets to go back to work some time tomorrow.

Thank you to everyone here who showed concern for my dad, it was greatly appreciated.

Good to hear.

And, I know this is a little belated, but spanishfli, I'm so sorry. I can't begin to imagine the pain you're going through. It's a horrible business, death, it just seems like it comes for some people far too soon.

Parents picked me up for the weekend and we went down to NYC. Friday night was spent driving around till 3am looking for a room. Ended up spending $200 per night, plus $40 per night for parking. But the hotel was fucking swanky - financial district, could see WTC site from hall window. Saturday we checked out The Gates, Christo's 23-mile sculpture criss-crossing Central Park. It was alright, I don't pretend to 'get' or enjoy modern art, but it was a tad entertaining. Walked around a lot of Central Park, ate a lot of good food. Saturday night was spent at the Pussycat Lounge, for Metal Fest - nearly four hours of laughably bad metal bands. I've never been carded in NYC, and this streak went unbroken. So odd. It was a nice club though, alright atmosphere.

When I'm 21, I have to visit CBGBs. Drove by it. What a pit.

Sunday we toured around a little more, checked out the Empire State Building, but there was a two hour wait to go up. So we ate and headed out.

I did all the driving, first time I had driven in NYC. Before this the largest city I'd driven in was probably Boston. At night you can really fly from light to light. During the day it's absolutely bumper to bumper - I had an absolute blast. And not that bad driving stick in the city, actually.

Fli, I had heard about it from Maus earlier, but I couldn't find a way to express myself, it invariably came out hollow-sounding. I feel for you man.

Proteas, glad to hear about the father unit. And it's nice to see an old DAG back from the grave. From what I've heard, he sounds entertaining. =)

I have a plaid apron. I wear it over my housecoat, as my house is eternally cold, and I tend to sing along to music while I bake. It's very fun and relaxing.

The only thing I ever bake is the flesh of lesser animals. I find it's much more humiliating to the animals in question than just eating their flesh raw.

As funny (read:true) as that is, not all women behave that way.

I have had amazingly huge amounts of free time since Wade added another handful of mods. I'm almost clueless what to do with all this new free time.

No, I've met a few lesbians who exhibited the same behavior, and persued the emotionally detached and wild types.

It takes all sorts.

You know that there really isn't an age limit there, if you play there. I recall kids as young as 14 being allowed to play there.

I played back-up with my friends band a while back there. It was awesome playing there. The crowd was pretty nice, but maybe it was a good night.

Perhaps it is your attitude towards women that creates this problem for you.

On the other hand, you could try giving them what they want...
