A music video is a music video. No matter how cool it looks, it's still just a tool designed to make you buy the artist's album.

Twenty-twenty-twenty four hours to go I wanna be sedated
Nothin' to do and no where to go-o-oh I wanna be sedated
Just get me to the airport put me on a plane
Hurry hurry hurry before I go insane
I can't control my fingers I can't control my brain
Oh no no no no no
Twenty-twenty-twenty four hours to go....

Well they didn't get you gift certificates for grown up movies, right? Hell, that's what the computer's for, so you don't have to pay for that smut, or if you like to pay: so you won't have it shipped to your doorstep for all the world to see :P

Very very wrong...I got a gift certificate too, but that's designed to pay off my remaining comics when they come in, I told people "if you're going to do this, you'll have to order them early, because it could take awhile for them to come in" am I listened to? Of course not, I only KNOW what the hell I'm talking about from EXPERIENCE!

Or just some bus or plane tickets so I can get one of the girls who actually admits they'd sleep with me up here. That'd be good.

Not to rain on anyone's parade, but isn't this 'political achievement award' thread just another popularity contest like last year's? And now there's only best and worst reg, ruggers?

At 1/5/04 09:14 PM, Jimsween wrote: Very mature people, why don't we have a prom next?

Couldn't we branch out a little bit / have meaningful categories? My idea (last year) was to make categories around political areas, and then vote for the person who seems to best understand or debate that area. Stuff like economics, US politics - hell - any of the other less important topics that always pop up around here (gay marriage, Bush, Iraq, etc.) It's just an idea, that I'll put out there one final time.

The plows didn't get out until an hour or two after the storm really started to pick up which was already after the roads were pretty bad. The snow was falling at two inches per minute at the fastest.

Anyway I was shoveling to get out of my girlfriends' driveway with one of those mini car shovels and the damn thing broke on me. So I spent three quarters of an hour with no gloves and just having cut my long, warm hair with just the scoop trying to get the deposit from the plow down to one foot from the two and a half. Then I got to work on the car itself. Blah, stupid cheap shovels.
</bitch session>

I had my gf get me the Back to the Future trilogy more to teach my father about space/time physics than for actual entertainment.

The snow and ice is actually melting here.... finally. I don't think it's any warmer than 30 degrees fahrenheight (-1 celsius), so it's not melting incredibly fast. You just look out the window and the green patches keep getting larger bit by bit.

No kidding. It's just the time to loosen your belt, sit back on the couch and explode.

Maus; I made the comment to you a while back that men were to blame for all the problems that women face, including the invention of the device now known as a "bra." I was partially correct (supposedly men did invent it in ancient Crete, but the modern version is a different story).

In 1889 Herminie Cadolle of France invented the first modern bra, a two-piece undergarment called le bien-être (the wellbeing). The lower part was a corset for the waist, the upper supporting the breasts by means of shoulder straps. By 1905 the upper half was being sold separately as a soutien-gorge (breast support), the name by which bras are still known in France. Cadolle's business (http://www.cadolle.com) is still going strong.

In America, Mary Phelps Jacob was granted the first U.S. patent for the brassiere (nr 1,115,674), in 1913. She was aided in this work by her French maid, Marie. Her invention is most widely recognized as the predecessor to the modern bra. She sold the patent to the Warner Brothers Corset Company in Bridgeport, Connecticut, for $1,500 (or over $25,600 in today's money). Warner eventually made an estimated $15 million off Caresse's patent.

I'm back, but now I have a stronger dislike of Disney...

I'm sulking because my family wanted to go to Disney during Christmas. I did not. Before or after-- yeah, maybe. But seeing Disney bastardize the meaning of Christmas into this commercialized thing is sad. Not only that, I behave really badly in really big crowds and very loud noise. In other words, I was not happy in the "happiest place on earth".

But I did go to Baron's Used Books Store, which is really cool cause they're huge. I bought a few gardening books, a play from Jose Rivera, and audio CD version of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire... just for the long trip home.

Most of the time the mother and I were at the hotel, we were tired most of the time. She was more so, because of the baby, but I guess I'm channeling sympathy pains or something...

My cause grows stronger...

It was so hard being one of 10 people in High School who hated Disney. Stupid 'D' that looked like a 'G'...

Disney slaps their name on everything. For example, I highly doubt, after the first two Toy Stories (Or whatever followed the first one) that Disney had anything to do with Pixar. Pixar is a big enough name now that they do all the work. Animation is dead in America. Pixar should break all ties with Disney because they're better off.</rant>

I'm sulking because my family wanted to go to Disney during Christmas. I did not.

Disney hates gay people.

Not only that, I behave really badly in really big crowds and very loud noise.

The Europeans cut in line. There is/was a Euro-Disney for a reason!

audio CD version of Harry Potter

There is no excuse for listening or reading Harry Potter!

I can't wait till Ron bangs Hermione and Harry get's caught wanking off as he watches the Slytherin girls change. Heck, maybe he'll get a pube or two!

The fun never ends with Harry Potter! ...
