Yeah, but they are having copyright problems with the name "gmail". They never got it cleared, now there's a bunch of legal crap. Probably why they haven't gone public with it yet..

Google runs an e-mail service called Gmail, and they provide users with 1 gigabyte of storage space (as opposed to a paltry 100 or 200 megabytes). Gmail also has some really cool features that you don't really find in any other free email service.

And the only way to get a Gmail account is through an invitation, ala livejournal.
