Yeah, we saw a little bit here. Everyone's freaking. About 4 or 5 lightning bolts hit right next to the building I am in.

Today I watched a (the?) documentary on the Weathermen Underground. This is some of the reasoning behind some of my sharp comments in this latest shitty Kerry thread, because it's insulting him for his activism during the Vietnam War.
I don't like Kerry, but I respect his actions in the 70's. The war was immoral, and I believe that he realized and responded.
And if I had been coming of age at that time, I would sure as fuck have been doing worse than hanging the flag upside down.

Use a better form of protest than desecrating our flag. For as much evil was done under it's stripes unknown measures of good were done under it's stars.

Think and say what you want. It's your right. We still need something to believe in and she is all we've got. You want to burn and hate her fine, but if you don't like it either move out or change things.

Meh, I used to say that... Until I realized that it's the not loving it that creates change that makes America the diverse and great place it is today. I'm not saying pure hatred for our country is good, I'm just saying the dislike of what the government does and the will to use any peaceful means neccesary to let the government know that you don't liek what it's doing, is a very constructive and vital part of our country's progress. And though I don't always agree with their methods (i.e. burning the flag or gross images of fetuses and hangars *CoughStanfordmarchingbandcough*,) I still believe that it not only is our right to criticize the government, but our perogative. And if you're completely satisfied with the way things are, well, I guess you don't need to protest...

Again, there is a difference between dissent and directly desecrating what so many died to protect and serve.

I know, I personally would never burn the flag, and never ever allow one to do it around me. But I say that if there is a cause that they feel is worth doing something so sacreligious and drastic, then it has to be done. I consider the Viet Nam War to be one of those drastic times that called for drastic measures.

I don't really think anything could be drastic enough to burn the flag. If you feel dissent towards a certain political party. Let them know anyway you can except for desecrating the dead. If you have an armed rebellion fine, but leave our flag, and non-combatants out of it. If you feel your cause requires it. I can see that, but at the same time respect those who have fallen in the name of freedom.

I still have the option of voting in two states. Should I stay my voting in Oregon because it is a swing state and because of the gay marriage vote going there, or should I move it up to Washington?

I went to a debate at our State Fair between the Democrat Lt. Governor and the challenger Republican. The Republican was saying how we need to invest in America and Indiana. Imagine how satisfying it was to find their campaign shirts were made in Mexico?
Most of the local news stations covered our silent protest, holding one Kernan-Davis (my guy and gal) shirt with the "Made in the USA" writing on it, and one of Mitch Daniels - Becky Skillman, with "Made in Mexico" plastered over it.
Daniels' team is expected to pull the shirts and start producing American-made. Woo hoo!

Camaro, I'm not immediately aware if Washington is a swing state? If not, then I'd recommend stay in Oregon.
When we do voting drives at school, we *hint hint nudge nudge* at people, that if they come from a swing state, their vote will matter more there.

It's my little plan to use the constitution to legalize gay marriage in every state... HAHA! Take that ass holes! The full faith and credit clause will be my weapon, the DOMA my only enemy, and the Supreme Court my battle ground. Sounds like their next session will be a goody!

DOnt be too harsh on the Mods, there are only two of them for the board, and they can't be on forever.... Pity treally, because we COULD chain them to their desks and then all the spamm4ge would stop immediately.

Nah. First time was from Stuporman. 5 Days for creating an unnecessary Club. He also gave me a 4 Day ban for Spamm4ge. Can't remember what the rest were for... But there must be about 4-6... Are there some kind of ban logs that you guys can see?

Well, I'm back. And I have to say I was disappointed with today. Let's start at the top, shall we?
I only managed to get 20 minutes of sleep, so I was already a bit phased and a bit naseous (happens when I don't get enough shut-eye). Since today we had Mass, I had to dress up in a button-up white shirt, the grey slacks, dress shoes, and a blue plaid tie that was too short and when was finally gotten on, made me question my sexuality (in other words, I thought it was gay. No offense, fli or Maus.) So, coupled with a horrible pimple on a prominent place on my chin cleft, I could tell this wasn't going to be an awesome day.
Well, my mom dropped me off at the building, and I went inside (The high-school hasn't been built yet, so we're borrowing Methodist's place as a temporary HS.) I met a few of the younger kids I already knew, saw a few faces in the lower grades (and some of the new freshmen were pretty cute too, but with my pimple, I felt a bit self-conscious. So I didn't do any hit-ons). The girls that were in my class showed up, and commenced with their senseless chatting. A guy I knew in 6th grade named John came with his younger sister, and even though we had not gotten along in earlier years, we were pretty cool now. My other friend Clay showed up, and we had a little fun.
Now, I could drag this out longer, but I'll cut to the chase. My class, the sophmore class, had even less people than I possibly imagined. There were only, including me, 10 sophmores. Ridiculous! Well, I'll give you my impression of us:
Katie, Grace, Emily, Hannah, Lindsey- Look, you've heard me bitch about the preppie chicks all my remainder here, well, these are them. I could rant for ages, but suffice to say that I leave them alone, and they leave me alone.
John- A guy I used to fight with in my elementary days, but after I loosened up from my book-wormish ways and he mellowed out, I see that we'll probably become very good friends. Mainly because we like cracking sarcastic jokes every 5-10 seconds. Besides Clay, one of the few people out of this entire school I can talk to, and I sit by him in literally every class.
Clay- I've known Clay for a few years, and he's the other guy that used to get in fights with John. He's a really nice guy, very smart, but sometimes he strikes me as wanting someone to talk to. He's fine on his own, but when he gets around me, he tends to become a bit of a follower. Nice guy, as I said, but a bit weak-willed.
Me- Well, let me tell you how the others probably perceive me. I'm the source of most of the angst and cynicism in the class. I'm very loud and attention-whorish, in that I talk loudly and have no qualms saying whatever I feel like. I'm also a bit of the class clown. Sometimes, I'll quiet down and just hang around others and not say a word, but in my own company, I'm a braggart. Also, if there's any mischief to be had, I've usually had something to do with it. Somewhat charismatic, so I can easily lead my friends to do whatever, if I'm not completely weirded out right then. I'm at the high-school not because I want to, but because my mom's a teacher (that's my official excuse, but everyone knows that's bull. But no one knows why I'm really there).
Marie- Knew her for about a year or so in 7th grade, but she was always a bit quiet, so I never knew too much about her. She still is. Wears a bit too much make-up, but she's alright.
Carmen- The new girl. Just moved here last week from Memphis. Smokin' looks, and she probably said two sentences today, maximum. She strikes me as very withdrawn from what I've seen, but whether it's because that's natural or she's the new girl is yet to be seen.
To tell you the truth, I miss my friends back at the public school. Most of the classes I was sitting, thinking about what they would be doing right then, what kind of classes they would be having right now. Literally all of my old friends are over there, so I won't get the chance to talk to them much, not to mention I never got the phone-number or even last name of many of the friends that I made in freshman year.
I hope to God it gets better than this...

-Wrath- Don't you worry, cause it does get better. You go to college. So much better. I mean the shittiest days I've had at college were still way better than the best days I had in college. I mean where else can you go to bed 30 minutes before your first class starts? College kicks high schools ass. Keep your shit together and brave the horrible school for 3 more years and you'll get the chance to spend 4 years in the collest place on earth.
