At 6/7/03 10:11 AM, Nirvana13666 wrote: the new issue is why do people like el foka get to be mods. I am sure alot of people agree with me when I say I have no doubt that you'll be a fair mod but I am doubtful in the performance some others will show in the future.

Actually, out of all the new mods, I am the least known. And I already have a group of people who don't like me. Meh...

foka and newgrundling are known more than I or Ted in general, therefore, they are more 'popular', so the thruth is that many more people support el_foka than me.

In any event, it's not a popularity contest, and I have told FUNK a few times already what I am about to tell you:
el_foka is definately the man for the job.

You may not like him or his actions, but none of us asked to be mods. The Admins (Wade and/or Jim-I doubt Tom would have reviewed us, seems he's always busy) chose us, and I'm sure they reveiwed us when they were making the descision. So, you're really questioning the judgement of the NG staff. And I guess they are human, afterall, but I think they made excellent descisions for the new mods.

And liljim apparently posted here, so the whole "this thread should be locked/banned" idea seems a little silly now, doesn't it? Again, this thread is for everyone in the forum.

DBF said it best:

I feel like I'm back in the 50's & 60's with the white against black deal for real.Come off this things guys your all smarter than this because it really does'nt matter what group of people you belong to were all the same.

That's not the problem of the DAG. FUNK can make a decent argument when he wants to, and even Cannibal (albeit VERY rarely) It's not the DAG, its the members themselves.

This is the best thing I'd ever heard.

I have no problem with the DAG, and I hope no one else does either. Both DAG and PC are valid groups, and I HOPE that everyone can get along. HOWEVER some people, from both groups, need to know that flames and hate posts will not be tolerated.

I'm opposed to the idea of DAG, which is against the very nature of this forum. However, I am also against the idea of the PC, as it is also against the nature of the forum (I joined because I wanted to post on the Snooble forum.)

I wish people would double check the definiton of a word BEFORE they accuse me of being an idiot for using it correctly. I just got told what a fact is: "something that's been proven." but then the person goes on to say that evidence is neccessary too... If something were truly proven beyond all possibility of error, and evidence showed the contrary, that would mean that either the universe was inherently inconsistent, or that the evidence was false. Oh boy.

I think my masturbation thread is serving a good purpose, it really separates the wheat from the chaff.

I agree, Dr.

It's amazing how many people in that thread just don't understand.

Although I guess it wouldn't be interesting if everyone understood.

leet means elite

You get it from reading the numbers.

1=L
3=E
3=E
7=T

They resemble the letters.

I'm sure you've spelt "BOOBIES" on a calculator (who hasn't?) It's much the same. 1=l 3=e 7=t. leet = elite....I'm sure you know what elite means.

Well i dont know if im worthy of posting here, but i want to take this chance to say that NG turned out to be an interesting platform for debate after all :).. i had a stereotype that all NG users were mindless preteens who had nothing better to do than talk about boobs and l337ness, i guess i was wrong, and ill be posting more often in this board. {{{all}}}

Not at all - I still go into the chat now and then, time permitting. Once I finish up with the company I'm with at the moment and move over to NG full time, I should have a lot more free time than I currently do in the evenings.

Worthy? Bullshit. NG debates arn't intelligent at all. Not that I'm complaining, but there's a lot more patting ourselves on the back then having the slightest clue what we're talking about.

Politics is a little bit more intelligent and respectful than the general board, but when insults start flying, they're actually thought out and coherent.

Ugh I hate that. Currently I'm in a debate with nailbomb and I keep having to use definitions of words to explain things to him. So far I've defined country, propaganda, and patriotism. And he replied with "are you going to let dictionary.com tell you what to think" and I replied with "No I'm going to let them tell me what words mean.". Whitchee!

Words arn't what's written down in a dictionary. The meaning of words are the common use in any given area. In a colloquial sense a word can have a completly diffrent meaning then it's dictionary use, and on a broad scale words often mean something diffrent then what the OCD, or in your case dictionary.com says.
