Don't you find that strange? You have at your finger tips (almost) the entire sum of mankind's knowlege, yet a load of dirty little bastards are content looking for just one thing.

and WTF - the BBC doesn't give away headline box things to websites that aren't based in the UK. That's such bullshit. The NY Times one wouldn't work either.

What am I suppose to do - use the Fox one? FFS...

My god, look at today's daily feature... governments should start a free-sex-for-dorks act to prevent these kind of situations.

I just happen to. Por quoi?

I got a few letters from them asking me to apply there, to come and tour the campus. Is it a good place? I'm planning a major in Political Science and some work in International Relations, though I'm going to apply to George Washington University in D.C. and see if I make it in there.

Now I know why the most popular thread on the Politics BBS is not about politics!

This is a thinly veiled excuse of a thread to spam!

Well, don't try and tell me you could talk about politics all day. Like it or not, it can be very boring. And the regs thread is like general minus the "whats your favorite pokŽmon?".

If anyone here could actually talk about politics all day, I would feel very sorry for that person.

I'm just pointing out the irony of this thread even existing. And General is much like regulated spam.

*sniff*

They never sent me a letter asking to apply..

I'd recommend the place. I mean, I'm not transfering out or anything... Is that a recommendation?
Great politics department. I'm double majoring in writing and politics (arguably the two best majors in the school of humanities & sciences).
The weather - is.. pretty crappy most of the time. Lotta snow. Most people I know who're transfering out, it's because of the weather. Dumb southerners.
Expensive - Tuition is hitting $23k next year, housing is overpriced (and you're required to stay on campus first two years). They basically nickel-and-dime you while you're here.
On teh leading edge as far as progressive colleges go - we were (I think) the third college to oppose the war in Iraq, etc. The GOP sees IC as part of a college 'axis of evil', which I consider a compliment.
The town is great. Very active, quite left (stark contrast to the surrounding rural area (ie. all of upstate NY)). Ithaca the town has opposed patriot act, the war in iraq, the new mayor accepted gay marriage licenses and processed them, etc.
It is always in the top 5 in the Princeton Review's "Reefer Madness" top ten list.

Oh - and keep an eye out in Time Magazine - they're doing a big thing about the college republicans here *groan*. The GOP is heavily funding them, they've been really active this year. Bleh. All ten of them..

Oh duh - school body of about 6,000, the town is maybe 40,000, and then there is always Cornell, the college on the other side of the hill.... Their student body is big, I have no idea...

The two colleges have a relationship, so we can go to classes there that aren't offered here.. And go to their frats..

Don't worry, the average body can take years of abuse (see another thread +15 pages) and not break down completely. Just don't expect us to pick up the Medicare Bill

Ha! That's why I love the NHS. After my years of Pot and Sugar abuse, the country picks up the bill.

Sorry, you were referring to the ? regarding BMX vs Mountain, correct?

My opinion (as I am not particularly active in the commercial aspect of either sport) would be that the type of bike would determine the activity. Each one is tuned to a certain level of comfort/performance for a specific task. Should you decide to utiliize the equipment in a non-traditional fashion, that would within your prerogative, assuming you own said bicycle.

Everybody Happy?

Heh heh heh, pretty funny. Seriously, very few places suck more for foreign, rapidly inserted objects versus the amount of pain they achieve. (in this case, 2mm wire cooking with 240v of power on AC) (ahhh the memories).

Although, the fleshy part at the base joint of the thumb and forefinger is also a happy place to hit. Try this next time you shake the hand of a high ranking official; pinch onto the bulge of muscle and find the 2sqr mm of space between the finger bone and thumb bone (this can be done gently while mimicking a real handshake) and then simply press until you can feel the otherside in the middle.

In Eastern Medicine, it's supposed to be like a radial node and can be used to paralyze the entire arm or relieve a really bad headache.

2) Over here a couple got married at exactly that time, kinda screwy as the Hokkien pronouciation of the number 4 and "Die" sound phonetically alike. Very few guests turned up.

3) Once and for all, is that a heart or an ass? Just wondering.
