so, lovely, yesterday I got off of work and decided to call the person about renting a room and get "you have reached a non working number"

I hope she's alright, I seriously need to rent that room and that maybe she just didnt pay her phone bill or something.

I'm not entirely sure I can handle living here too much longer... meh, sure I can, I'd just rather not.

I'm not crazy, everyone else is.

I seem to have acquired myself a husband. Didn't really get nervous until right before the ceremony. Honestly, it was pretty much a blur. So was a lot of the night. No, I wasn't drunk. It was mostly adrenaline. Now we're back in town and will probably head out for dinner later.

Called the cops on my crazy-ass upstairs neighbor again last night because he was playing music at 1:45 AM and I wanted to sleep. I'll admit that I may have jumped the gun as my husband says, but when I heard him drunkenly and angrily confronting another neighbor I got scared. Told my landlord what happened. He's been speaking with the magistrate and they'll need to go to court to get him out. I have no problem testifying.

But here's my problem. He intercepted me in the hallway today. I wouldn't have gone outside if I knew he was there. Anyway, he asked me if he was too loud and I did ask him to please keep it in check since apparently lying to him last time and saying no just made things worse. He fortunately thinks it was another neighbor that called the cops as she has done so before. He asked if I ever would and I said no out of self-preservation. Well, that and he followed me down to the laundry room going on about how evil said neighbor is and other stuff. I didn't want to run up and get my husband since I was afraid of aggravating the situation. So if/when I DO testify in court I'm a bit afraid of what will happen, but fortunately, there's enough of a case against the guy the landlord can just get him out immediately when there's a judgment in his favor. I guess I'm just worried about retaliation, but my husband doesn't seem to be. After all, we make it a point to avoid him.

You could even get lucky Rydia and not have to testify at all. That happened to me once, had to waste tons of time showing up for this idiotic crap from my old job where two customers decided to do a really ill conceived prank. Once all the stalling got done, turned out I didn't even have to testify because they had enough evidence from the other witnesses and stuff that the judge was ready to rule without ever putting me on the stand. It was funny to watch them get sentenced though. If you think that judges only editorialize and bitch out defendants on Judge Judy, I can assure you you are wrong and it does happen in real life as well.

You know, there is an experimental surgery out there that helps treat the condition of people suffering from 'terrible neighbor/roommate' syndrome.

It's called trephination. You should look it up.

Congrats on the nuptials, Rydia. And might I suggest looking into seeing if you can fill out an avadavit on the issue of your psycho neighbor, that way your testimony gets to court but you don't actually have to get up and testify?

Defenestration is a good one, too. Slightly more severe, but effective.

Talked to a friend of mine who works for the Pittsburgh PD (albeit not a cop) and I think he figured out what the cops here are trying to do. They cited the guy already, so he'll go to court and it's a summary offense. But if he's dumb enough to do it again after that (and probably will be) it's a Class III Misdemeanor. That'll get him out of here REAL fast. Assuming it gets to that point. We'll see what happens. As for an affidavit, I'd need to talk to some folks to see if that is possible.

Ended up making my first 911 call today. Not for that guy, but there's an elderly man living downstairs who fell. Three of my neighbors were trying to pick him up and return him to his room, and one came to ask me to help. I'm like "Guys, we really should call an ambulance." So I did. They came but I don't know what happened after he tried convincing the paramedics he was okay. They didn't buy it.

Got ourselves another dog today so the other one could have some company, she is home by herself so much that it would be nice for her to have someone to spend some time with; fun thing is that they are half-sisters.

Start some volunteer construction work for Habitat for Humanity for every Friday this month for a service learning project. Six hour shift the first three Fridays and a two hour shift the last one. Shouldn't be all that hard, I've had ten to twelve hour days on the farm and it could be a nice experience.

Was it Burlington? I think you would love that city. It's small and they have all kinds of awesome events all year round (like Jazz fest every summer and nearby is the Champlain Valley Fair which usually has big name acts like Blink 182 when they were big in the 90s). I flew into there this Spring on I think United or maybe American Airlines but the plane came in real low so you were right over Lake Champlain and you could see the Adirondack mountains to the West and the Green Mountains to the East and you'd bank over some foggy areas and farmland and it was a pretty scenic spot. Also, the Vermont Air National Guard is stationed there so you see some F-16s (or F-18s, I dunno, I'm not a plane buff) landing and taking off or chillin in their own hangers next to the runway.

Yeah, it was Burlington. It was a flight back from Quebec (never let other people book you airplane flights, especially with layovers) so I had to stop there for reasons I'm not quite sure myself. However, you're right, it was a beautiful town, but I was freezing my ass off (Hey, normally this time in CA it's about 66, 67) and thus unhappy.

Thankfully, my flight left on time.

Yeah, I heard the northeast was getting snow this weekend. I imagine if the weather was more fall-like instead of winter-like it would have been a much better experience. Then again, god help you if you live there and don't have a good set of snow tires. Burlington has some steep main streets.

The blood & fur all over the place is also a good indicator.
One dog shaking the other like a rag doll is another pretty good indicator ~;)
