I thought the funny part was the fact that Wal-Mart even let a blind person in.

So the question boils down to:
Macbook Air or Ipad?
Decisions.....
I kind of need to get rid of my Windows XP. Let's put it this way, Windows Explorer is on version 3.2.

neither. both are completely overrated and overpriced. I'm amazed at what people go nuts over these days.

Yeah. Notice the lack of Vista, and why I run XP.
I'd rather shoot off my foot, piss on it, and then eat it while listening Justin Bieber than run Vista.

I have 2 desktops running Vista - they don't give me much trouble. What trouble I have had has been hardware related.
I have one netbook running XP. I don't use it much. Again, hardware is the largest catch for that machine because it's so puny.
I have 2 laptops running windows 7. it's pretty good. I haven't had any issues with it yet.
With Macs you pay more for a less powerful machine. A lot more. I don't see any use throwing an extra $500+ at a laptop that has half the memory and weaker processor than something cheaper than it.
I'm not convinced by tablets in general. If they made a netbook sized computer with a touch screen running android or iOS or something that didn't cost as much as one of my desktops I would be all over that. Also, iOS can't play flash. But the android tablets are a crapshoot just trying to figure out which one is useful because there are so many low-end ones running around the market. And some don't support flash either.

I've had Vista on my personal laptop for over years and it never gave me any problems. But the laptop I got for work also had Vista and it wasn't able to communicate with printers or allow me to install licensed software from the network. After a week we decided to downgrade to XP. Now it runs Windows 7 which seems to suffer from none of the communication problems that plagued Vista. So I guess it comes down to what you use your computer for. It's only a real nightmare if you want to do something with it that requires it to interact with other machines.

work computers are kind of iffy with networking in general. Companies will want you to use secure pathways to use things like printers.
My personal laptop is one of those typical business laptops that my school gave me. In order for me to print to my printer without plugging it in I have to make sure that the computer connected to the printer is on and has network sharing turned on then I have to go to my printer settings click "add printer" then click "my printer is not found" or whatever and it will let you do it manually. Then, when I find the printer I have to give credentials again to get it to connect to the printer and download a driver if it's been a while. I have to do this almost every time on my home network because of the crap my school put on it so it would work with the more "secure" network at school. At least with that network I only had to add in printers once and it automatically connects to them as soon as I connect to that network....so for some convenience at work, you get a headache at home...But this is a problem with using a work computer at home than the operating system.
I imagine things would be a little easier if I used the VPN software the school gave me, but that's a pain in the ass to start up at home.
The wife's W7 laptop can handle using the printer by connecting over the network to the desktop so it's gotta be the settings on my school laptop.
Other cool settings with computers/phones/laptops/TVs is DLNA. Rather than connecting the old fashioned way like I mentioned with my laptop to my printer, DLNA lets you stream music, pictures and documents to other machines via a certain protocol. So, I open the DLNA app on my android phone, it gives me an option of other devices connected to my wifi network, I choose which computer I want and then it asks what I would like to do from that computer (music, videos, etc) and then it shows me all of the music on the computer and I can click "play" and play songs on my PC and it will stream to my android phone.

I also use Vista and have no issues. Meanwhile my fiance keeps fighting 7.
Also, someone needs to lengthen this at some point.

I have found that the phrase "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" generally serves me well when it comes to working with anything associated with windows. So long as I'm not tinkering around with the way the computer operates, it operates just fine.
Although, I did run across a program a while back that allowed me to turn off ALL the Vista visual enhancements, and let's you run it like it was Windows 95. That was pretty cool, as it freed up a lot of memory.

Moving out of here on the 30th when my lease is up. Gonna miss this place. My fiance and I are looking to get a place together. Until that happens I may need to move back home for a bit. Hopefully that won't happen. Nothing against my parents but I've been on my own. In the meantime, the fiance and I are scouting out places. We'd like a townhouse but don't know if we'll be able to get one.
My birthday is Wednesday but I'm sure I'll spend it working. Friday I can chill though.

I'm moving this summer again because our commutes to work and school are a little too long and we found a nicer apartment community thing that had a nicer kitchen.

When we found these hats they dared me to wear it for the rest of the trip, which included the flights home. Long story short, I went through Laguardia airport wearing a tricorner hat and no one fucked with me. I'm awesome.

I'm really excited for my trip to Montreal next weekend. I leave Thursday. It'll be my 3rd montreal meetup, 5th legit meetup and ~10th time meeting up with newgrounders in some sort or another (had an excursion in 2004 in Vancouver and had a couple of ski trips with Timmy and Evark the last couple of years)

We're trying to plan something for next year already, hopefully on a weekend. This trip was during the week because the plane tickets were cheaper. I know skunky said she can go if it's on a weekend and I <3 my skunky. It's really hard to find a good location everyone can go to. I live in the south, so I had to fly all day to get up there, so I've only been to 2 of these meetups. Plus Evark was at our last meetup, and as someone who has also been in his presence, you can confirm he is awesome. Every meet up needs more Evark. Anyway, ya'll save money, so I can take pictures of you sleeping.

Now, I know GoS is a Pittsburgher...but I wonder how many other folks on NG that aren't blithering idiots are from Pittsburgh. My fiance and I are looking for a 2-bedroom apartment or townhouse but aren't quite sure what's out there. We have shot down potential complexes because they're in unsafe neighborhoods. But basically, we're looking for a 2-bedroom in a safe area that isn't a complete shithole.

Happy Birthday dear!!!! And I do the same thing, I was still writing 2010 on things in like March.
I blame all my medications/health conditions when someone asks me my birthday or social security number and I have to think about it, but me being scatterbrained as hell doesn't really help.

I'm Hungry !
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V1gJHj0vU ao
Ok , maybe not so much anymore !
I just got through the door.... I just finished another movie in the 'Jesse Stone' series.
Some of the days were really long, we had one week with 82 actual hours worked in 5 days, I can't even tell you what that translates to actual pay hours, when you convert the overtime hours to straight time .
I do know going in for 6 am & finishing at 4 am makes people stupid, or tired or something !
The NG meet up sounds like it was a hit.
WHERE"S THE REST OF THE PIC'S ?!?!?!?!?
surely you all took more than those couple.
Hope you're all well, I'm going to go out in the living room & make a drink or 6.
I can sleep in tomorrow , but have a meeting about a studio space I have to rig tomorrow afternoon...my next movie full time starts in 2 weeks & I have 7 show & rigging days on other stuff before I start that !
It could be worse, I could be dead.
I'll Be Back... just not to often, be safe & take care guy's.
