The office is closed again tomorrow. Really hoping they open on Friday so I can get my final day stuff taken care of - I do NOT want to have to come back next week to take care of all that crap.
Beginning to question the wisdom of taking a week off between my old job and my new job - after being home for days on end, I'm getting stir crazy, and I can't imagine a whole second WEEK of not working.
Thankfully I do have some projects to work on. I would get started on them now, but I didn't foresee the EPIC BLIZZARD and don't have all the supplies I need.
He followed me home, can I keep him?

But you do have bread, milk, eggs, and catfood, right? You're not a true southerner otherwise.

My older sister is getting remarried, and I got asked to be the Best Man at the wedding in June. I've also been asked to join the groom in a rendition of "You and Me" by Lifehouse for their wedding song. I is happeh. :-D

Well, we did pick up the eggs on Monday, but it was a "while we were out getting lunch" sort of thing - my office was closed, but the roads weren't too bad.
I'm using them to bake brownies :)

I was goofing around with powersets on one of my characters, and I decided to take a second travel power as a "throw away" power (I wouldn't devote any enhancement slots to it, but I needed to take one to just chose a power to complete the character anyone). His main travel power is an Incredible Hulk styled super-jump, but the throwaway power I took was The Flash styled super speed which gives you this really cool Back-To-The-Future trail of fire behind you when you travel around.
Turn them both on at the same time, and this was the result.

So I went ahead and posted one of my short stories to the writing forum (see sig). It's a prologue to a dead novel idea. I plan on posting the other "live" story starting some time this weekend or next week... doing some editing atm. The live one is going to be in comic-script form rather than novel form, as it's how I originally envisioned the project. But having no access to an artist, the project has always been at kind of an impasse. I figure this way I can both fish for an interested artist, and flesh out the story.
Comments and criticisms are always welcome.
and yes, I know the story that's up now needs some work in the middle... like I said, it's a dead idea :P

The voices in my head told me to get out and go buy groceries this morning, so I got the stuff together to make some Italian Beef pot roast the way I like (it's really starting to smell good). Did that, and I'm going to clean up around the house, maybe try and get my acoustic guitar back in working condition.
Since I'm single, this is just another day of the week to me. The only difference being that I am more painfully aware of it.
Also; I made a Rupert Kroenen outfit (Hellboy) for my Brute. I'd love it if I could get that whole badass Nazi look he had earlier in the movie, but I can't swing it in the costume editor.

New balg post, and another stump for the Writing forum. We have many literary types in here so go, read, write, comment, critique. There are some excellent writers in there... but we need more >=D

wow.
my boss called me and congratulated on me because of a huge sale.
Yesterday, I took wedding pictures of a couple. And they loved EVERY shot. And they were very good, and very unique too.
I've never made a sale over 80 bucks. But apparently, they bought 2,000 dollars worth of pictures and products. That makes my sales average well above everyone else...
I got 50 dollars tip bonus too.
This helps me a lot.
It offsets the horrible sales I make taking children's pics. I usually don't work well with kids, unless they're infants. And they're sooo afraid of me, being bald and big and a man.
Women, in general, make better photographers of children.
But I work well with young teens, adults, and the elderly. And sometimes pets.

;;;
Fli , I've got some friends that would scare bikers. One monster in particular, has an ole lady who works in child care, he has found that being able to do magic, takes away his being scarey. So maybe you just haven't found something that will interest young children that may possibly think your scarey.
Aftert all its hard to be afraid of someone who has a constant supply of colorful ribbons coing out of anywhere they choose to pull them !

I about fell out of my chair laughing a little while ago. We got a phone call from my brother, and my neice (the darling little 3 year old) sung her mother a lullaby. It went as follows;
Lullaby and goodnight
Go to sleep dear mommy
Or I'll beat your ass
You can tell she's going to grow up to be a well adjusted individual, can't you?

Some little kids are just like that. I remember a three-year-old my cousin's boyfriend was taking care of. He picked up all her toys off the stairs and she started screaming. When he asked what was wrong, she said "You ruined my plot to kill Grandpa!"
Then when she was about a year older, she was playing in the grass near a sign that said "KEEP OFF THE GRASS." He said to her, "Primera, what does that say?" She looked at the sign, then back at him and said, "That doesn't apply to me. I can't read everything yet."
Either that kid is the real-life Stewie Griffin or she'll grow up to be one hell of a politician. Maybe both.

Rydia, some kids are brats like that.
If you remember the horror stories I've told about teaching my cousin rudimentary reading and math skills, then you will know why my hair has grayed considerably on the sides. (Although, you would know it because I shave it off.)
Even teaching him why it's important for him to brush his teeth everyday.
But, he's grown out of it now that's puberty has got him. He's skinny now, handsome, and self motivated. And mature (but his sense of humor will always be with him, thank goodness.)
This is the same kid who called me a fucking faggot, and nearly broke his skateboard... all because I didn't let him take home tadpoles from a pond to put in the fish tank.
But seeing my aunt beat him with a thin belt, as bad as it sounds, was soooooooo funny. "NO MOMMY, NOOOO!"

The thing is, she's not really that bratty; she's sweet, lovable, and hardly ever has to be disciplined. The older one (the five year old boy) is verging on being straight out of the movie Problem Child, that is assuming he actually MAKES IT to his seventh birthday.
At 2/16/10 02:14 AM, fli wrote:But seeing my aunt beat him with a thin belt, as bad as it sounds, was soooooooo funny. "NO MOMMY, NOOOO!"
I can sympathize with that. I made them (my brother and his fiance) a wooden paddle to use, and no sooner than 20 minutes after I gave it to them, it got used. It was everything I could do to keep from busting out laughing when it happened.
However, I've been told recently that it is not in use anymore because it didn't seem to have any effect on him in the long run. We (and we I mean not my brother his and his fiance) think a large part of his bratty behavior is because he's modeling himself after his mother, who was an only child raised by mom and grandma and is still kind of bratty to this day. So this kid's got a way's to go yet.
