Ta-da.

If it doesn't have the press-in type of weatherstripping like that, I'd look into getting a strip of that fuzzy style weatherstripping to put on the edge of the door, that way there's some sort of material styled seal on the edge when the door closes, making sure less air escapes through.

And I have this crazy tall wall with these totally unreachable windows. I have no clue what to do with them, but I can only imagine how much money is wasted with the heat that gets out from them.

Extra tall ladder, caulking gun and some interior/exterior caulking.

Plus the thermocouple is busted on the gas fireplace.

Thermocoupler's are cheap. I've never had to replace one, but it seems easy enough.

Keep in mind, I do work at a home improvement warehouse store, man. I don't just stock shelves, I have to know this shit. And if I don't know, I find out. In fact, I had a customer complaint filed against me recently because I didn't know the answer to somebody's question and wasn't quickly able to find help for them.

I could see being called patient, but more creative than you? I'm just following instructions I find online, you're a freakin' artist.

I want to make a smaller chain (20 gauge 3/16th rings) like that for my brother for his birthday, all bright silver with red captives and a matching iron cross pendant. He's big into iron crosses and the like, so that ought to give him a joygasm.

Interesting. In my browser, it pulls up a whole list of thermocouples, but when I open the window through the link it just pulls up one $10 thermocouple.

lol, no, the weather stripping is fine throughout the house (condo association makes sure of that), but around here it gets so cold that you literally lose tons of heat from glass windows (even though mine are double paned) so I put up some thin plastic sheets with double sided tape along the window frames, creates a nice pocket of air between the window and the plastic for insulation. But my big sliding glass doors don't really have anything like a frame for having a pocket of air. Plus, I got this weird shrinking plastic (you use a hair dryer with it) and it srinks and stuff, but I doubt on something this big it'll work right. Last winter we used a plastic sheet we had left over from when the rear window of the car got busted.

Plus the thermocouple is busted on the gas fireplace.

I may just do that. The only tricky thing is that this fire place doesn't have a manual and I doubt my landlady has it. (I don't want to call her about a broken thermocouple when I can do it myself for <$20, when she'd probably be obligated to have a repair guy do it for a few hundred bucks) and so I'll probably have to take out the old one, and walk around a few stores looking for the right size replacement.

I can't get my hands on any ladders, although, they have been working on a unit across the feild from me, I bet I could borrow a ladder for a few minutes on the weekend and they'll never know

Always remember to eat the desert first ! ! !
You can never ever, ever be too full to have your desert if you eat it first !

My favorite take out place with the kids is Dairy Queen.
they had a special on where you buy a meal for your kid, with a choice of chicken fingers or burgers, fry's etc & it comes with a small ice cream sunday... I always get the kid's to eat the ice cream first...so it won't melt & make a mess ;)
Made me very popular with my kid's, when we take a friend out as well, they all love me...not so much with their mom(s) or my mom :)
but I'm a big boy & I can take a bit of abuse...now if only those kid's could learn to not walk into the house a yell out how dad let us eat our ice cream first !

I would just do that, then. Just buy yourself a roll of heavy gauge painters-plastic and wrap them with that (you can always get your hands on some designer duct tape to match the rest of the house's exterior). Or, failing that, a plastic drop cloth. Failing that, board up the damn doors and brick over them. Brick and mortar is relatively cheap compared to the costs of heating the place. ;-D

I may just do that. The only tricky thing is that this fire place doesn't have a manual and I doubt my landlady has it.

Got a make/model number on it anywhere? I'll find one for you.

Personally, I've been thinking about a flesh ripped-flesh tattoo. The idea that you are more than truly what you appear to be on the outside truly fascinates me. Especially after seeing this.

Oh, definitely. I would much rather get inked on than sit through something like Accounting.

My appointment is on January 31st. Not sure what time we're going to get started, but she promised me the entire day if we need it. It was her first free weekend (she gets booked up pretty far in advance), and I wanted to get as much done in one sitting as humanly possible - she had some Saturdays available, but only in hour-long slots, and I didn't want to stretch it out over a bunch of sessions.

She hasn't given me an estimate yet on how long she thinks it'll take, or how much it will be, but given the size and complexity of the piece, I'm willing to bet I'll use up a good chunk of that day. My longest session to date has been an hour and forty minutes, give or take, but it was no sweat, so I'm not too worried about a multi-hour session.

Wow, amazingly the NG servers still work...I guess those rioters didn't make it anywhere near the HQ.

I do not fucking understand people's need to wreck shit when they're team WINS. They were actually broadcasting the riots in Philly on the news so the cops will have video evidence when they go to make arrests. I also heard they greased up any and all poles in preparation today so people can't climb them.

Click and click. That was about as far as I was able to get, I wasn't able to find much else. I tried submitting an e-mail info request but they're server gave me a 404 error, you might try calling them here shortly.

I can try asking the guys at work tomorrow for more info, if you like.

I bought some Sensodyne toothpaste yesterday to help out with some tooth sensitivity I've been having. Expensive (like $5 for a little 4 ounce tube of it), but worth it for what it's done for me. The only thing I can't get over? The key active ingredient is potassium nitrate.

Yeah, the oxidizing agent in gun powder is the "anti-sensitivity" ingredient in this stuff. WTF?!
