Somebody should make this a sticky thread because it's always buried halfway down the page and it'll be more easier to find.

THanks forthe info Rav.... I really didn't know how your system works
I have a pretty mixed up log in code Seven, numbers letters, all mixed up, so I don't know what else I can do to make it harder to guess, but it is obviously working seeing as no one has guessed it yet.
Proteas, the more I hear about American Health care system...the more worried I become when I know I'll have to go there !
The rumor mill has me coming down there for work this summer, for a week, unless I'm in the middle of a project. Then I won't have to.

i was in Walmart this morning and I see Tatsunoko Vs Capcom. I love the vs capcom series, but this is getting ridiculous. seems like they'll do anything vs capcom. I just wonder when they're gonna do American Musical Legends Vs Capcom. I would love to see Elvis and Michael Jackson put the hurt on Megaman and Ryu.
Nintendo vs Capcom would be awesome, Square vs Capcom would have some potential, but I really want Your Momma vs Capcom.
I'm not crazy, everyone else is.

health care itself isn't the problem, it's paying for it that we have a problem. Since the Canadian government controls your insurance (unlike in England where the govt. controls the whole shebang) I'm pretty sure if you do get hurt and wind up in a hospital, the canadian government will pay for your health care here in the states, and at the very worst will reimburse anything you have to pay up front. But I'd check with your local insurance office to figure that out. They might have some traveler's program.

In America it's illegal for a hospital to refuse service so you have nothing to worry about. I took a blow to the head during a baseball game when the dumb ass at bat threw the bat after hitting the ball. I had no insurance and no money, they took care of it and I paid it down $15 a month until it was taken care of.
I'm not crazy, everyone else is.

I don't think the hospital can refuse service but they can keep pushing your time back if you go into the ER.

I googled it... A lot of them seem to have the more or less answer.
They can turn you away UNLESS it's an emergency situation.
I mean, if you got a cold but you don't got cash... they're not gonna look at you.
However, if you've been in an accident-- they're gonna have to take you in.

I'll just go with insurance. chances are the union takes care of it, like my having automatic $50,000 death & dismemberment plan. Anything happens to me 24/7 my beneficiary get's cash if I die, I get cash if I lop something off. You get this basic insurance just for being a member, you can upgrade to higher amounts that the basic plan...but you pay the extra premiums yourself.
I don't think about paying for health care, you go in no matter what's happened even if its self inflicted & they take care of you. you go home ...no bill. There maybe wait times for some proceedures, but emergencies they do what has to be done & I've survived all the incidents I've been in, including going into anaphylactic shock in Montreal when I was 20. I came to, strapped down on a guerney, with people speaking french around me!
Was very weird.
But ever since I watched 'Sicko' I've been paying attention to the American system.

Considering how elaborate that is, I can see why she'd charge that much. Very nice tattoo though. Two of my friends met because they had the same tattoo, actually.
My group member is doing an internship for a three-letter agency down there and that's why she was in DC. I haven't heard from her since she went down and I'm worried, especially considering the weather down there and the fact that she can't drive in the snow regardless since she's from Tampa.
I do hope my group appreciates the stuff I put forth, seeing as I did all the fucking work this time around. We'll confer tomorrow at least.

Well, as a repeat customer from way back (got my first piece from her in 2003) I get a lower rate. ;)

more, I forgot to mention if a business is operating in the US they probably are required to have workmans compensation insurance, so if you get hurt while working, it's on their workmens comp insurance and not on you. I think technically I'm an "independent contractor" as a ski instructor but they still have workmens comp for me if I get hurt while teaching a lesson.

Yep. My little trip to the doctor's office (my boss scoffed at the idea of sending me to the emergency room) didn't cost me a penny out of pocket, not even for a co-pay. And they would have paid for it regardless of whether I had insurance or not, simply because it happened on the clock, on their premises, using one of the company issued "safety" box cutters.
Had I used my own pocket knife, I would have had to pay for it all on my own, and probably would have gotten a write-up. But all I had to do was show them the bloody razor blade and they didn't say another word.
I may trend towards the psychotic on the occasion, but I'm not stupid.
Our medical system is fine, it's just expensive is all. The problem with our emergency rooms is that the uninsured will go there healthcare because a lot of hospitals won't typically turn you away, but they will make you wait a while. If they bring you in by ambulance, you get top priority, if you come in on your own... take a number, it's going to be a while.

So far it hasn't been too bad. I can reach all of it to apply lotion, which I've been doing every couple of hours since the air is so dry.
The weirdest thing was waking up this morning and having to peel off the t-shirt I had worn to bed. There's a Shroud of Turin style stain on the inside of the shirt that is an almost perfect "ghost" of the tattoo - some of the excess ink leaches out for the first few hours.
At 2/1/10 04:33 PM, Der-Lowe wrote: Public trust?
A Public Trust clearance is one of the least intensive clearances. It basically means that I am approved to view "sensitive but not classified" material. I'm not too concerned about qualifying - if they thought I was a security risk, they would have pulled my husband in for a review when we got married since he has a much higher level clearance.
In other news, we have successfully taught an old dog a new trick - Husker has learned to sit on command. Sitting is not very natural for greyhounds, so it was a little bit of a challenge, but he's sitting like a champ now.

It didn't screw with the way your tattoo looks, I hope.
And to those of you who have ever had a bad day at your job, be thankful you at leat have a job. Today I am never more thankful to have my job.
Today was basically a repeat of what happened back in August; I screwed up on some paperwork, they called me into the office to "discuss" it, except this time around it was the store manager who wanted to talk to me. Also, this paperwork I screwed up was more vital than last time around, and because of my previous write up, they were going to put me on final notice.
When we got down to it, the most recent occurrence was taken off because I wasn't there to fill it out anyway, I had called out that day and then went on vacation the next day, so that was a screwup on my department manager's part. The next most recent occurrence was in fact partially completed, went uncompleted because my dm assigned me to much to do that day, so it was taken off. The third was taken off because it wasn't enough to even write me up for, and my store manager tore up the paperwork he was going to sign acknowledging that he had talked to me about what happened, it won't even go on my record I don't think. I got an apology from the store manager, and was given some sage advice on how to handle my department manager from here on out.

The fuck is with this bullshit weather?
Too warm for a heavy coat, too cold for a light coat. Half rain, half snow, drizzling cloudy sunshine.
I like snow. I like rain. Like it when it's cold, like it when it's warm.
I don't like this indecisive bullshit God is playing. When the most accurate description of the weather is "Oxymoronic".
Oi, God! Pick a season already!!
Jeez.....
Boss ran out of work for me, so I got a half day today. On the plus side, I get to catch up on some HW and other things I have to do, on the downside, I'm not makin money.
Friggin machining industry can't make up its mind either. Officially I'm laid off, but only until my company gets paid what they are owed.....which could be tomorrow or a month from tomorrow. So my boss can't pay me for the work I've done, until our clients pay the shop for the work the shop has done.....
Shit really does roll downhill. C'est la vie.
Bottom line, I still have work tomorrow, but won't be paid for any of it for another several weeks.

Ink leaching is totally normal. You do have to make sure nothing that sticks to your tattoo stays there very long, or you can start peeling away actual healing flesh, but I had thoroughly lubed it up with Eucerin, so it was mostly just sticking to the lotion. Today I am not getting any sticking once the lotion is absorbed, which is a good sign. It's starting to scab properly.
And it's snowing again. The guy who decides whether my office closes or not will probably be a prick again and declare the office open, then not bother coming in himself.

I had my tattoo redone. There were so many blotches where the ink had lifted. It was simple... all black and solid.
I don't like it that much anymore. I'm going to cover it up with another tattoo, although--
I have something I like, but I don't know how much I like it...
Years ago, I made e-valetine's to a few people, all of them humorous and vulgar. I made this to a defunk member who, no doubt, would have loved me.
I find the humor in it funny, and unique. To me, the whimsy has it gay cultural significance.
So, this pic would serve as the inspiration... a porno Jesus, and there would be these funky 70s fonts that says, "Thy Kingdom Cums."
And, it would be in color... retro-70s colors.
Although-- there's no way people could see this and not take it offensively.
One time I went with someone who had a swastika on his chest, and that sort of killed the mood because he had to explain his past and its significance. He was 13, wanted to join a group, got in... but he never believed in that stuff, and got out. But not before having that thing branded on him.
See--
tattoes always have their story to tell.

Tattoes isn't branding... that's something else different. And it's not that overly painful. It is, but not like getting your skin seared.
On my back, the part that made me go ballistic was the skin right ontop the spin. On my other shoulders, where it's softer-- not so painful.
I've toyed the idea of getting a Prop 8 tattoo.
Something very simple.
Depending on the outcome, it will be just two little letters in clear lettering. "WE WIN."
Right on the spot where my hand goes when I make the pledge of allegiance.
It goes against how I feel about lettering, but-- that would be something significant for me.
