I forget the question.... I've been answering true, but I didn't draw it out or think too hard about it.. err.. Consider I just did the whole test in about thirty seconds and only got 152, that could be one I got wrong.

I retried it putting true, and got 163. I'm going to work at it to see what the correct answer is. I think maybe their answer is wrong.

I tried again after putting all true as quick as I could and got 121 and only out down true.

I want to make the best masturbation thread EVER. If anyone wants to help, send me an e-mail or catch me on AIM. I'm thinking of "quoting" a local newspaper article, (sorry, I can't find one on the internet, because it's a local senator) So if anyone wants to write a newspaper article about a senator who has drafted a bill to illegalize masturbation, or even better, write a few juicy quotes from the bill, I'd appreciate it immenslely. I'm thinking that a presidential endorsement would be the best way to conclude it.

Perhaps they aren't as clever as you, and they don't count the outside of the circles? I haven't taken the test yet, so I don't know how they phrase the question, but it seems to me that they're talking about the circles' overlapping areas. If they included the background, wouldn't the answer be 15? (7*2+1)

Who knows? I.Q. tests are notorious for trick questions, and since this question could be answered correctly any number of ways...

Why not ask Bakshi if he'll host a CNN mock-page? He has one on his site that looks authentic at first glance.

Upon further pondering, I'll bet that their correct answer is 7, since 8 and 15 are more likely to be wrong, since they rely on the background.

So, of three conditional answers, 2 would be false if they didn't rely on the background, and 2 would be false if they did.

If they did rely on the background, which one of the remaining two is truly true? You have no way of knowing, so 7 is most likely the 'right' answer, since it doesn't rely on conditions that can't be tested. meh... not like it's important, anyway.

His site does look pretty professional. That would be awesome.

The question is worded as:

Three equally sized circles can be drawn in such a way that all of them overlap and create exactly seven distinct areas or compartments. True or False

There are definitely 8 distinct areas, although the word compartment is a little tricky.

Yeah, I definitely think it's seven since they mention it, specifically. Did your score go up or down after changing that answer?

I wonder if it's possible that they inflate the IQ scores in order to make people want to buy their product.

Ah, duh.. I forgot about the post where you mentioned that.

Yeah... This is why I don't fret over IQ tests. Aside from being culturally biased, they ask trick questions like that. I don't think there is any way to gauge intelligence aside from years of personal friendship, and the accuracy of that assessment depends on how smart you are.

The stupid part is more the fact that Its a true-false test, so that every answer you don't know, you have a 50% change of getting right anyways. Or maybe they take that into account as well, I don't know. I'll go flip some coins now.

I wonder what was Mother Theresa's IQ

No, Hollywood remakes of foreign cinema. They managed to butcher anything they didn't do first (ever see the remake of The Vanishing?), almost as if it's spite.

So, the remakes of The eye and Dark Water aren't exactly high on my "To See" list, just as The Ring 2 (that isn't a remake of Ring 2). Hey, I confuse myself sometimes...

I view I.Q. tests with the same amount of skepticism as astrology and weather men.

That being said, putting "illegalize masturbation" into yahoo gives you quite a bit of interesting (but totally worthless) sites.

I said that they weren't helpful, did I?

Although here's what we CAN do. Create a "Illegalize masturbation!" thread in the Clubs/Crews section, have all the regulars join, get a symbol, give it out, and THEN make the thread in the Politics BBS.

Not much, but hey, it's a start.

i wonder what the point in creating a test that gauges intelligence even has, i mean, think about it. who decides what mental processes more accurately reflect ones intellect than another? speed reading and ability to answer true false questions without really thinking about the possibility of more than one answer don't strike me as a very accurate way to messure intelligence.

like for example, can john's grandfather's daughter also be his sister? well, sick as it sounds, it IS possible, although one may guess that from the simplicity of the test and the people who created it, you'd look smarter by giving the simple answer...
