Shades can be seriously expensive. Some of them were $1500! D:

You know how you always hear rumors about people finding something out really really cool to do in a game, but they won't tell you how they did it? Well, I just found a way to power-level my characters in City of Heroes/Villains playing solo. Yeah. It's taken me the better part of a year and a half of straight playing to get 2 characters up to 50 and another to 39, but last night I found a way to knock one out fairly quick. :-D
Plus; my town opened up a Liquor Store, which is nice because now if I want to get myself a bottle of something I don't have drive 20 miles to get it. And contrary to what my dad I joked about (like them being a cheap drunk's store and only having Thunderbird and Mad Dog 20/20) they actually had some good stuff there. I got myself a couple small bottles of Absolut, Creme De Menthe (to make a Vodka Stinger with), and a small bottle Jagermeister... which I might finally be able to try now that my brother doesn't live here.

There's a new drink I want to try. Gancia one; it was usually mixed with lemonade, but the manufacturers decided to sell it with lemon already, and bottle it in convenient sizes.
Win.

What exactly is Gancia 1? I can find pages about it online, but nothing in English. Is like a malt liquor beverage?

I will say that I had two odd experiences today, though. The first was at the mall; I bought a throwing knife from this import store there that had nothing but knives/swords/nunchucks, that sort of thing, for $14. Turns out, for about $10 more I can buy a set of three of these same knives online clicky. So I got ripped there... figuratively speaking.
Also; the liquor store I went does not accept checks because of what appeared to be previous experience with bad customers who wrote bad checks... HOWEVER... the store has only been open 3 days and the owners have no other locations which would indicate prior exeperience in the liquor business.

Oh, and on the topic of alcohol:
It´s a shame I didn´t grab the opportunity to mix up some Hot Toddy for my buddies while one of them still had his hands on a bottle of undrunken, but drinkable whiskey.

The first month had its ups and downs, but he's pretty much settled in now. We've even gotten to the point where we can let him out into the back yard and he will go do his business without one of us walking him down to the "potty corner" and he comes back to the door when he's done. He's had a few successful field trips, including a couple of jaunts out to the dog park.

I have issues with compulsive spending, plastic is a dangerous weapon in my hands... had I had a credit card (or even a debit card) in that import shop yesterday, I probably would have walked out of there with a pair of Kendo Sticks with wall-mount rack for them, a pair of lacquered nun-chucks, and some bo-shuriken in addition to my throwing knife.
I'm just glad I don't have a taste for alcohol beyond the occaisonal mixed beverage to make me mellow. The local store would be sending me Birthday and Christmas cards... like More's local liquor store does. XD

Hm, turns out Gancia is as Argentinian as a beverage can be (created by Italian immigrants).
Gancia one is Gancia with Lemon.
Now, Gancia is a mix of white wine, aromatic herbs and sugar. It was originally drank as an aperitive, ie, before meals, but it now people generally drink Gancia batido (shaken), ice, Gancia, lemon juice, and sugar. You shake it and voila!

LOL. And I thought I was hardcore because I bought 4 bottles of Dr Lemon (small ones, though).
My grandfather gets stared at when he goes to the supermarket; he buys 50 bottles of wine(75 cl ones).

- A military ammo can filled with about 2 dozen or so various pocketknives.
- 4 swords (two functional, one semi-functional, one display piece), 3 machetes, 2 hunting knives, 2 throwing knives.
- An aluminum baseball bat which I need to strip and repaint/retape
- My grandfather's two canes, and a homemade pair of nunchucks.
- A slingshot and about two or three hundred pieces of ammo and power-draw bands on it (heavy rubber tubing instead of yellow medical tubing).
- And a Mossberg 500 with about 150 rounds of ammunition.
I keep a machete (which I need to sharpen), the baseball bat, one my grand-dad's canes, and my shotgun underneath my bed within arm's reach just in case something happens in the middle of the night. Everything else is in boxes or put up somewhere.

She was a really good dog, very smart & never needed to be tied up . I even taught her to fetch & retrieve, which the breeder said I wouldn't have a hope in hell with .
Odd i think I've got something in my eye...
I had a friend in school who had a male dachshund, named...wait for it..... Fritz, & he wouldn't go out on his own in the winter if there was any more than an inch of snow.
His little weiner dragged in the snow (he was big & fat) & would leave a line between his foot prints...funny as hell, but cold on his pecker . So you had to force him out the door on snowy mornings.

Sometimes when I'm watching Chopped and these professional chefs get all flustered with the surprise ingredients, I wonder...Is it just the pressure, or are these people really that unimaginative? I can pretty much always come up with something while I'm watching.

Don't jinx it for me...
The best part is that they're under pressure.
Also, take into account... limited time, various dishes, sometimes a very unknown ingredient. I mean... get chicken, and you know how to make a dozen things. No hard one right there.
But if you're a chef and all you get is a bucket of chicken's feet and beaks, and you won't know how to make a savory (and visually palatable) dish... and you got to make 5 other different dishes... and a dessert.

I was a trivia game champion in school, actually. I don't really suffer from performance anxiety or stage fright.
And, fli, Chopped is not Iron Chef - the game is a bit different. They have three courses with three sets of ingredients that MUST go into the dish, and after each round someone is eliminated.

I sort of liked The Next Food Network Star and I'm recording Worst Cooks in America, but I gotta say I'm not really feeling it.
I saw an episode of Hells Kitchen that I liked, but I never saw the show after that and I've seen a few iron chefs (next iron chef and iron chef america) that I would get into. Haven't watched chopped. They were hyping up some iron chef thing where they had some chick who cooked at the whitehouse compete with some other chefs but it conflicted with other things we had set to record that same time so I didn't see it.
more - sorry about your dog, man. my grandparents had a yorkie that was spoiled and pretty smart and held her own with my uncle's mastiff/rotweiler mix.
I still use checks. But now it's only down to 2 bills. Rent and propane. Up until recently it was electric but they've since started online billing, and the oil company said they're starting that up too. Wouldn't it be awesome to pay rent online with a credit card?
