I don't believe it gets much better than that.

I survived the Outdoor Paul Mccartney & Kiss concerts held in Halifax, along with the Parade of Sail with tall ships from all over the world here .
They were on two different weekends in the same outdoor stage/ roof system.
Completely different lighting & sound set ups , as well as major seating & front of house & stage wings.
We had a couple of minor injuries, nothing that required an emergency room visit.
But all of us were very saddened to hear of the deaths & injuries at the Madonna set up of her roof system in France.
To say it made us more 'aware' would be an understatement, but we did get the roof system knocked down & on the trucks in 11 & a half hours (as opposed to the usual 15 + hours :)

There was much beer & pizza being consumed by burnt out techs to celebrate ... girlfriends who drive & don't mind coming to 'get you' are the very best IMO...

So hows everyones summer going ?

I've got a 'chickenfoot' out door show to set up later this week.

Some world class entertainment & they're paying me to be there ;)

Over 40 ships in all, it was really neat to see them tacking & how quickly some of the larger ships moved their large inventory of sails when they did change their tack.

You don't. You get up, turn around, and run as fast as you can in the opposite direction. To confuse it, run in a zig-zag pattern. To confuse it even more, run in a zag-zig pattern.

Two different concerts, mind you. And next weekend it will be Chickenfoot.

11 hour+ days notwithstanding, more's job kicks ass.

Yeah, that's Sammy Hagar, Joe Satriani, Michael Anthony, Chad Smith. As a super-group.

Shameless plug for new series.

The premise is an American embassy agent working with his female counterpart in the Japanese government in Tokyo. It takes place a tad bit in the future; the technology exists now but isn't as sophisticated or advanced yet. Part cyberpunk, part action, part CSI, part noir, it's coming together.

In two months I'm moving to France to teach English. I'm very excited about the move. My girlfriend lives in Paris (we met in College when she was studying abroad). Where should I go? What should I see? If you were going to Europe for a year where would you want to visit (excluding amsterdam, thats already on the list)

Go 5 this. Many of your friends, mostly Seven, worked hard on it.

I used to find that annoying too about authors, but seriously, open up Flash at your school library and try anything half that good. I mean, seriously, using flash is like buttsex without lube.

No. This thread is for... HOT STUFF.

I got my hands on the Batch #37 Trail Mix and Batch #114 Caribbean Jerk Peanuts. The Trail Mix is is less intense than the Habenero Peanuts, with a smoked flavor to it. The Caribbean Jerk peanuts are... odd. They aren't hot at all, but they have that sort of cinnamon/allspice flavor to them. Not what I expected.

I also just noticed; Original Juan is the maker of the Da Bomb: Ground Zero, the dastardly sauce that lit my ass on fire at the mexican restaurant several years back. Dare I order it? Dare I dare STAFF to order it?!

If you do it right, you can do both of those things and still have cake.

I heavily endorse this plan. It is fucking good cake.

Sadly, no. This was part of a program I'm part of.

Got to talk to him for about a half an hour with a group.

This is the only picture of me shaking his hand, too bad it's bad.

I've never met famous people on that scale...
What kind of class was this???

I've talked to Khalid Husseini at San Jose State (writer of Kite Runner) and we talked about our high school (we are both alumni of the same high school.)

I've talked to Tony Kushner once when I recognized him... he's the writer of Angels in America, Carolin or Change, and other fabulous works.

I saw David Mamet... also a famous American Playwright... but from a far.

I got the autograph from Terrence McNally (also a favorite of mine)-- and I shared a conversation at a bar in San Jose with James Kellman (who was an honorary professor at SJSU and winner of the Booker Prize. Which is like... the European Nobel Prize for Literature.)

And I met Sergi from System of a Down in Cupertino at a bar during New Years. (Complete Asshole... hit on my sister's friends. Obnoxious as fuck...)

I don't know the Valdez family in San Juan Bautista, but his Luis Valdez's son Kinen hangs pretty much in my circle of playwrights, actors, fairies...
