I have run into only one beer I haven't liked (& i've tried them all over North america, the Carribean & Hawaii ) one beer out of the god's know how many micro breweries I've had. Plus I've been on ships from Poland the old USSR & Yugoslavian Beer, I've been to France & had their beer. Only 'Laurentide' a beer out of Quebec which has little to no flavor , I could just pick up the flavor of the soap they clean the equipment with, did I not like.
So all you guy's that don't like beer...don't drink it.
Stay away from it & don't acquire a taste for it , & hopefully it will mean more beer for More !

I really like Drew Estates' line of Java cigars. They come in two basic types, one being subtler and lighter in color, and the other almost black and very rich. They're infused cigars, so they have the pleasant taste of a flavored cigar without the nasty stickiness. They taste like chocolate, coffee, and pretty nice tobacco. I'd recommend them for newbies.
I also really like candelas, but those are crazy hard to find.

My old guitar player is in jail.
Again.
For the second time in less than six months.
Not even his family will bail him out, and neither will I.
He damn near got all my equipment confiscated and me arrested because he got caught ON CAMERA breaking in to other clients spaces where I was renting recording space, despite the fact that he both worked AND lived at that facility. If I hadn't been there when he was arrested, there's a good chance his boss would have locked up the unit and sold all my equipment at auction. I was actually waiting to try out a new vocalist when the cops raided our area and took him under custody, and had to explain to the guy what had happened.
I've spent the last three days clearing out and setting back up because of him, the son of a bitch, and I'll probably spend a fourth tonight.
FUCK.
HIM.
rot in jail you piece of shit.

Ow. I probably should lie down, but I get the feeling that it would make me feel worse. I hit my head twice today. I just took some more medicine for the pain. I hit my head around lunch, then hit it again three hours later. The first time, I got myself on the stairwell. (I have one of those loft apartments.) The second time, I got myself on a table while unplugging stuff from an outlet. The first time was actually far worse. Pain, nausea, and forgetfulness, stuff like "Did I lock the door?" or not remembering some numbers while I was writing out checks. It's amazing I was able to drive today. Then again, I managed to make it to work this past summer when I got myself in the face with a car door and it hurt worse.
Also filed an FCC complaint after getting one of those "factory warranty" calls on my cell phone. And may have to dodge storms if the weather stays the way it is.

Fun day all around it seems. Here's my tale to add to the misery.
I get to fight my bank over $300+ worth of bullshit overdraft charges. Seriously... when I have $180 in my account, nothing out of the silly $5-6 shit I was buying should rack up $117 in overdraft fees... especially when my account never actually goes negative. Some bullshit about money "on hold". Fuck that... when 2 transactions can be the cause of FIVE overdraft fees... that is some bullshit. Especially when the transactions that "overdrafted" never actually put my account in the negative... And it's not like these two transactions put me over, then some later transactions also went over. No, the two transactions made shit that posted the PREVIOUS DAY overdraft. They fucked my account... FROM THE FUTURE!
Whiskey.
Tango.
Foxtrot.
Fucking bullshit fuzzy math. If I can't get the charges reversed, I'm heading to a different bank... this is bullshit.
bullshit, I say!

After I get my WW2 Katana sharpened up, I'm thinking of saving my money up and buying a Cold Steel sword. Not sure which one as yet, but... the Grosse Messer, Chinese War Sword, and 1917 Cutlass have all caught my eye.

I was so tired when I got home from work a little while ago, I actually took a nap after I ate an early dinner. I never do that, but... not even energy drinks (what few I will/can drink) have been able to help me from dragging ass here lately at work.
But, I've got the weekend off. First thing on my agenda; sleep-in.

rydia, don't lie down. You have a concussion. A bit more than mild too if you are forgetful and nauseas. It's your brain swelling and shiz, if you fall asleep too soon afterward, you could fall into a coma..which is lame.

I didn't. I realized I'd probably feel worse if I did. I have just been up playing a game. I feel fine now, but there is a little pain coming back. I know I'll feel like shit once the painkillers wear off.
I am slightly hungry now, and I guess that may be a good sign. Also thirsty, but I think that's since I had Chinese for dinner, and it's salty. I have some light stuff downstairs, at least. I'm probably not going to go out again except to get the mail anytime soon.

My director got his actors...
They seem to be a very good cast. We had the change the gender for one role because there were no more men... but it works out fine.
It will be a stellar performance tomorrow. I will definitely upload this on youtube.

I have a headache, but I guess that's to be expected. I set the alarm to wake me up every couple of hours, and it worked. I went to bed late last night anyways. I wasn't tired until later and I was up playing a game and talking to a friend. My boyfriend called me around 12:30 to check on me. I overall feel okay except for general blah. Not that I would go out today even if I wanted to--the wind would keep me inside anyways. If it hadn't been for something I really, REALLY needed to do yesterday, I would have stayed put.
Not that I'll be getting much sleep for the time being anyway. My neighbor has people over, the maintenance guys are working on the vacant apartment next to mine, and the landscapers are cutting grass and using loud things like leaf blowers.

I got pissed earlier. Long story short; I went here today, the first time I've been there in almost a decade... and it's no longer a "flea market," it's fully antique mall. I drove 30 miles up interstate 65 to go to something that I could have seen just up the road a piece. PROTEAS SMASH!!!
I went to the actual Bowling Green flea market and walked around for a while. Nothing special there, just same shit they always have. I almost bought a stun gun for my mother, and I picked up a few military manuals;
- FM 5-25 Explosives and Demolitions -- 1967
- FM 5-31 Boobytraps -- 1965
- FM 21-76 Survival -- 1970
- ST31-180 Special Forces Handbook
After that, I went to Wal-Mart... on mother's day weekend... never doing that again.

Really the only character they did that to was Deadpool. It did subtract from the movie but it didn't make it the eye candy clusterfuck people predicted

Yeah, my verdict is that most of the bad reviews come from 14 year olds who downloaded that
I was not pleased with what they did to Agent Zero/Maverick/David North/whatever they want to call him this year. I don't care how cool it was to hit a target center mass from that far away, that was just WRONG.
He was actually present for a good amount of the film (finished film at least). I like his portrayal as a no nonsense henchman. I mean if that was your power you wouldn't have to be chatty.
Anyway, I posted my review on www.theendlesscrew.com The source for all your comic book discussion and commentary, and overall it was very positive. I didn't like what they did with Deadpool but thast didn't send me into fanboy negativism.
What I really didn't like was that when someone from the tv guide channel interviewed Ryan Renolds they made the oh so clever refrence "I see Deadpool" and then asked if he'd possibly have his own movie. He's in the film for 2 minutes and you're talking to him. Stop acting like the decission hasen't already been made you embodiment of Hollywood sycophantism!
Sorry but that stuff bugs me.

I'm going to clear something up about Wal-Mart once and for all.
You can buy the same stuff at Wal-Mart that you can buy anywhere else. So even if you don't shop at a Wal-Mart, chances are that you are supporting a product or brand that does business with wal-mart, and in turn, supporting their ability to do business with them, thereby keeping the retail chain alive without ever actually stepping foot into one.
If you're truly dedicated to the whole anti-Wal-Mart schtick, I'd like to see you try to live without buying a product that isn't carried by them. Truly, I would. So get off your high horse already.
At 5/9/09 04:04 PM, stafffighter wrote: Yeah, my verdict is that most of the bad reviews come from 14 year olds who downloaded that
My main concern with the working copy was that it was paced like a Harry Potter movie; very quick, glossing over many details and sub plots in order to cram as much into the running time as they could.
I think the fact that they never mentioned that Victor Creed = Sabretooth in the movie where they went out of their way to slide in the other mutants names/codenames ("Why'd you call him blob, man?!") but they left that out for a major character kind of irked me.
He was actually present for a good amount of the film (finished film at least). I like his portrayal as a no nonsense henchman. I mean if that was your power you wouldn't have to be chatty.
My issue wasn't with the amount of on-screen time he had, it was the way he was portrayed as a ruthless bastard. My memory of Maverick (and from what I've been reading of him) shows that, yeah, he can be an asshole at times, but that's not the main constituent of his personality.
Plus; since when could he just up and FLY?
I didn't like what they did with Deadpool but thast didn't send me into fanboy negativism.
I had two problems with the way they portrayed Deadpool, and niether of them had to do with the way Ryan Reynold did it in the first half of the movie.
As Weapon XI, how exactly was he able to keep two full length swords in his arms the way Wolverine could with his claws AND STILL BEND HIS ARMS?! Did nobody else catch that?
And the other thing was the cheesy way they turned the character's abilities into nothing more than an animated action figure. I'm sorry, but if I was re-enacting that scene with my action figures as a kid, I would have just said "screw it" and grabbed for a Godzilla or King Kong toy at that point, because being a couple stories taller than your opponent and outweighing him by a hundred fold was the only thing separating that character from those monsters in terms of mythic ability. Well, that, and a pair of maroon pants.

First of all. If you don't know Victor Creed is Sabretooth then where are you growing your problems? Victor Creed is a big guy, Wolverines brother and nemisis, and he has a healing factor and claws. But is he Sabretooth?
Secondly, I listened closely at that Blob scene, he honestly did say bub. I thought it was good how they took that turn and had the characters insecurities give him the nickname.

Yes, but remember this is a flashback. This is the shit he's remembering when he's looking all regrettful in current times.

He didn't He had some hyped up jumping and such, which isn't inconsitant.

I thought it played it as a little too subdued but then I thought about it and it makes sense that the shit they did to him upped the crazy.

Never saw him bend his arms but yeah, I completly grant your premis here.

My main problem with that is trying to explain it to my parents, who love the series but have never read the comics.
"Yeah, you remember that tall, blonde, Grizzly Adams looking dude from the first movie? The one that was Magneto's bodygaurd? Yeah, that's the character Scheiber is supposed to be playing, they just didn't recast Tyler Mane for it."
Doesn't even connect with them, which irritates the SNOT out of me because I'm the only comic book nerd in the family and they expect me to tell them who and what these characters are when they ask.
Dude, like half the X-men villians are like that.
Then why did they have to fuck with the character of Deadpool so much? Hell, Weapon XI hasn't even been written yet in the comics from what I understand, they could have just been... I don't know... creative and made up their own character instead of taking an existing one and messing with them to the extreme.
Or... they could have taken the character of Omega Red and tweaked it so he was a by-product of the weapon XI program. Just a thought.
Also, how the hell are you able to hold this conversation but have never signed up at www.theendlesscrew.com ?

They recast the role. It's annoying on princible but it happens. Plus Scheiber played the role extremly well.

Well, Deadpool was the end result of some truely horrific weapon x stuff so I'm going to have fath that they somehow spin this that the fight and how it ended took away the powers other than those we know and love.
Or... they could have taken the character of Omega Red and tweaked it so he was a by-product of the weapon XI program. Just a thought.
Omega Red I don't think we're going to see because he was very much connected to s political structure that doesn't exist anymore. Playing the flashback card we could say he was from some Russian exivialant.

Right now in our vs. topic we have the guy people your age were waiting for, Deadpool, against the guy people my age were waiting for, Gambit. Have something to say about that? There's a place to do so.

Oh, I think he kicked ass in the role, don't get me wrong. I'm just griping that now I have to explain it to people who aren't comic book junkies, and subsequently get stared at like a monkey in the zoo for my knowledge on the subject.
Omega Red I don't think we're going to see because he was very much connected to s political structure that doesn't exist anymore. Playing the flashback card we could say he was from some Russian exivialant.
Well, the whole movie supposedly did happen in the late 70's/early 80's, didn't it?

I'll have to check that out.

Yeah, it happens with everything. Just because you know why there's a guy with ahorsehead dressed like Thor doesn't mean it was your idea.

Well the first movie came out in like 99/2000 right? But then it was "the near future" so pile on a couple years to that. And Wolverine had been living his current life for 15 years at the time so I'd be comfortable saying it ended in the mid-80's when tension with Russia was still relivant.

You just had to take his fucking ducky, didn't you?

He fought in the American Civil War in the movie, whereas in the actual account of him he was from Alberta, Canada. And then he tells him that he is a Canadian when Stryker tells him to serve his country, true, but that seemed to be more of a sarcastic remark because he lived in Canada with his new girlfriend.
Also, in the actual X-men series, the whole project that Wolverine was involved with (adamantium and so on) was done by the Canadian government, not American.

So even if you don't shop at a Wal-Mart, chances are that you are supporting a product or brand that does business with wal-mart, and in turn, supporting their ability to do business with them, thereby keeping the retail chain alive without ever actually stepping foot into one.
So wait, you are saying that buying a product that is sold at a different store that is also sold at Wal-Mart inadvertently helps Walmart?
So if I bought a video game at Gamestop, that would help Walmart? Or if I bought jeans at a Levis place, that would help Walmart?
So your assertion is because products are sold to multiple stores, including Wal-Mart, buying them helps Walmart?
If you're truly dedicated to the whole anti-Wal-Mart schtick, I'd like to see you try to live without buying a product that isn't carried by them. Truly, I would. So get off your high horse already.
I hope you realize how little sense this makes.
