I never noticed one way or another since he doesn't go outside, but the blinds at his place are always open a bit. Maybe it's a requirement?
That seems rather serious. Although people always throw piss fits about sex offenders moving in to their neighborhoods...when your neighbors get a flier explaining exactly what you have done and where you are living, you're probably NOT going to run around raping all of their children.

It certainly feels that way when I come on here.
Hell, most folks I know are impressed that I can put a good edge on a knife. Around here it's an invaluable skill, and I've sharpened God knows how many kitchen, pocket, and butcher knives for friends and family. But at the same time, nobody has thought me weird or demented for being able to do it. On here? It's like people read that and flip out, like I'm going to be the next big-time serial killer or something.
Granted, I haven't exactly helped dissuade people on that matter, I do have a warped sense of humor that I enjoy exercising... and my thought patterns tend to be erratic anyway.

His life's already fucked as it is then, $10 says he probably just wants to be left alone.
So oblige him. Don't acknowledge his existence, and don't give him a reason to talk to you. He'll either settle down and be a (somewhat) harmless member of society for the rest of his days, or he'll move on to another town once people find out he's there in his community and want him gone.

So totally BUY. Hell, it's probably still a deal, since the Absolutes are coming out at what? $50+ each? ew.
I think we joke about you being a serial axe murderer because for the most part this site banks on obscure morbid humor. We like to JOKE that somebody we have been talking to is a psycho. We don't actually think you're going to snap one day; we just find it a funny sort of thing to joke about.
And the internet allows you to self-censor information you leak about yourself. Since our personal lives are off limits for the most part, what little we do may be the only thing some people might know about us. If the only part of your private life you share is that you like knives and are a big, quiet guy...well, we will think you are a big, quiet guy who likes knives and nothing else.

I figure they'll look pretty cool next to my Maus paperbacks and hardbound poetry books, an added bonus to being pretty good reads. :-3

Which is quite odd, since it's generally the other way round.

*looks around*
Okay, a bit about my personal life.
Back in December, the HR manager at work walked up to me and informed me that I would be transferring departments because of a lack of payroll hours in my home department. Effective mid January, I would no longer be working in the Tool department, I would be working in Paint.
No matter how slow the economy is, people are always going to have some cash set aside to do small home repairs and the like, so in the last month and a half, I have mixed quite a bit of paint. And the one color I have absolutely grown sick of is Sandy Taupe and all the variations of it.
I have over a thousand different paint color chips available. I have a machine that will color match ANYTHING you set in front of it, and I have a computer program that contains all the color formulations for every manufactured brand of paint there is (Behr, Sherwin Williams, Colorplace, Wal-Mart colors, Ace Hardware, etc etc etc), so in theory I can mix virtually any color of paint available in the known universe, in any available finish in 1/2 pint, quart, gallon, and 5 gallon cans.
So....

I heard some reseach group in England created a paint so black that it absorbs 99 percent of the ambient light. Can you mix that? I can stand here stareing at you if you have to check.

Trust me, I have absolutely no plans to be anywhere near him. Here's a thought: if he wants to be left alone, maybe he shouldn't have gone around raping children in the first place.
I looked up more on him. The officer assigned to him comes three times a week, which explains the increased police presence in my complex. The feeling will probably go away over time, but I can't help but feel a little uneasy with him around.
In other news, I'm not at my apartment now anyways. I'm home for a few days. I really needed to get out of there for a bit. God willing, the place won't burn down or get robbed while I'm gone, and neither will my car. My neighbor watches everything, but I can't help but worry about these things.

I sincerely doubt it. That color ("super black") is actually patented by a UK research company for use in labs where light sensitive equipment is used. So it will be direct from the source and unGAWDLY expensive to boot.
I can mix just a normal jet black, but that's about as dark as I can get.

So... he's got to declare where he's living every three months for the rest of his life, and for the foreseeable future he's got a cop checking in on him three times a week. AND he's got the constant paranoia of his nieghbors keeping an eye on him.
And you still don't feel safe?

You see the same thing with green paint, & I mean the green that is used in Greenscreens, they are used for CG work & last I heard it was like $120.00 a gallon. One of the neat things about working in studio all day shooting greenscreen is when you come out into natural light, you can't see green, it appears black or dark greys etc. your poor eyeballs rods & cones are so shell shocked it takes awhile to readjust.
I can mix just a normal jet black, but that's about as dark as I can get.
;;;;
remember to use 'flat' black, that way there is no chance of reflected light. that is why backstage , & elements of 'sets' that you don't want the audience to notice get painted 'flat' black. It's also why we as stage crew wear black clothes & sometimes black gloves & facemasks as well. As long as we stay in shawdow & don't cut in front of brightly painted set pieces, we can be right on stage during a perfromence & the audience won't notice us.

Stuff like that is why I'm half tempted to take one of the fan-deck books we have and see if I can't color match it to paint on my car...
NAPA Auto Parts can mix up touch-up paint for you based on the manufacturer's paint code available for your car, and when I checked on prices they wanted $30 for a half pint can of it. When I balked at paying that much, the guy said there was on color red they sold that went as high as $80 for a half pint can, so I was getting away cheap.
Meanwhile, some rather ingenious members of the local hispanic community came in and got oil based enamel paint for industrial applications to touch up their car with. Total price; $8 and some change for the quart.
Or maybe I could see about mixing up a can of Rust-Oleum to match....

My brother has this dark navy blue color on the walls of his room, and my folks painted it using semi-gloss paint. It looks like a cave until you turn on the lights, then it looks like a wet cave. BLEGH.

Like Hunter Green?
My mom painted my room that color once as a kid, it was cool.... until she decided to take one wall and make it an "accent" wall by dipping a feather duster in white paint and dobbing it all over. Looking back it was pretty ingenious, but at that time it looked like my wall had gotten attacked by a wild chicken.
