Do you know which anthology it's going to be in?
Hope you get to present it, that's awesome.
It's called "Ages of Heroes, Eras of Men" and it's being put out by a couple of faculty from Rollins University and a professor from the University of Albany. Not sure who's actually publishing it yet, or if there's any money involved for me.
That's the way of academic publishing, though. A lot of it's for the prestige and to look fancy on a resume, with no actual paycheck. My first publication netted me a whole $25. I could probably make a heck of a lot more money if I stuck to fiction writing.
If I present it, it will be at the 2009 Florida Conference of Historians - the conference where the idea for the anthology was first hatched. My only concern is that I will have already been awarded my master's at that point, and won't be a student anymore, so there's no way to get my school to pay for the trip.
But that's a bridge to cross when I come to it.
