we got like 2 feet of snow yesterday, got some more flurries this morning and tonight, blue skies during the day. The snow is perfect for skiing.

You guy's don't know how lucky you are !
We got severly dumped on last week, then minus 20 to minus 30 on Fri/Sat , on Sunday the weather went up to 10 degrees F. above freezing all day, then as the sun dropped all the melt from the day froze in 5-10 minutes, roads were like curling ice, pebbly & slick as a waterslide.
THis morning it was raining...& the rain was thick, right on the edge of freezing.
Absolutely the WORST kind of winter weather, extremely dangerous, the only reason that there were just 4 fatalities...is because there aren't many people here .
Nice powder type snow is fine to play in ...but what we've been getting all winter has been hell.

I couldn't listen to it in English, since we don't have CNN in English anymore. I could listen to it with a guy talking on top of Obama in 7 channels, and also in Italian, Galician and German.
Our Air channels were too busy talking about the local sluts, and how one of them was "the gay queen".

I heard something on NPR a little while ago where a black reporter had done one of those mail-in DNA tests, where they find out what your heredity was from your DNA...he wound up having like 0% African DNA, and a majority of Eurasian DNA. And apparently this guy had 2 black parents and he was pretty dark skinned.

Answering that plunges deep into politics in the lounge so I'll state a non sequitor
Do you think there's anyone out there who has a p.h.d in dentistry? I mean the critiria for a p.h.d is to add to the knowledge of a field, and dentistry is a living science. So it's very possible for someone out there to be using the title doctor in dentisty and not be claiming to be a practicing dentist.

I just say "Black" and "White."
Maybe I can get away from saying those terms, but I never thought they were racist.
But, yeah-- maybe for a post outside the lounge.

There is a topic on racism (sorta)
Personally I feel like I should be able to say whatever I damn well want to, you may disagree, you may get pissed but that shouldn't be my problem. Right? Or am I being too blunt here?

Feh, I will SEND you snow.
I slipped on the ice 3 times last week, one time messed up my elbow pretty bad on the landing. Still a big bruise there.
I also twisted my ankle trying to walk on unplowed sidewalks.
Call up the Corp of Engineers, and you can have all the snow in Ann Arbor. We're already sick of it.

This isn't very political, so I think its ok for the lounge. Beat me with a potato wedge if I'm wrong though.
Anyways, I was at work last night, and the Sons And Daughters of the Confederacy were having their monthly meeting. Now, usually, they pray, sing their songs, etc, and then I go out and serve them food from the buffet line. Seeing as how it was MLK day, and Obama was about to be inaugurated, I thought I'd see what they thought of it.
It was the most hilarious thing I've ever heard in my life.
The guy who said the pray started of asking for God's forgiveness, ya know, the usual.
He the went on the talk about the birthdays of Robert E. Lee and Stonewall Jackson, on MLK day. After that, he talked about how the Visigoths and pagans sacked Rome.
This is when things got fun.
The rest of the prayer (as I remember it) was:
"and lord, give us strength, for tomorrow the Visigoths and pagans march across the bridge to Washington, where there goal is to change the south. They want to make the south into the new HOUSEBOYS for our new president(as condescending as possible) But let it be known lord, that the christian south is the minority. We are now, and we always have been. We therefore ask that you give allow us to hold our own against the godless horde that now rules this country. Amen"
Anybody else detect a slight amount of racism and hyper partisanship in that prayer? I think there's just a wee bit.

Just your run of the mill extremist.
.....
I'm aggravated with the City of Hero's Developers right now. With the last update they put out for the game, your character can now have a Day Job; depending on where you log out determines what their day job is, and you'll get a bonus for having that particular job.
The problem? You have to be logged out for 10 days in a row to get a maximum benefit time of 2 hours in game time for the bonus. After that, the bonus drops off.
Yeah, I want to strangle somebody right now. Because the bonuses are REALLY cool, and I want to play my characters damn it!

I would think I had DIED & GONE TO HEAVEN ! ! !
I have twice been able to go south for all of January & once I came home for a couple of days & then went to New Orleans for Mardi Gras & 8 days in FEB , & well I wore shorts the whole time. Thought it was wonderful...I got all sick feeling knowing on the trip to the airport I was flying back to this.
I would not miss it. When my kids are older & I've got just myself & or me & the girlfriend ,I'm getting out of this frozen wasteland & never coming back in Winter for as long as I have left.
Promise.
I wouldn't go back for love or money once I escape...& that is exactly how I think about it...ESCAPING.

Did you know it's 40% more likely for a male to successfully commit suicide than a female?

I've heard that... the number seems wrong, but it's something like that.
I've heard that men, when they committe suicide with a gun, are more likely to blow their own face than women... women are more likely to shoot themselves in their heart if they use a gun.

Wrist Rocket slingshot; $6.98
Slingshot ammo pouch; $3.98
2 packages of 75 piece 3/8 steel slingshot ammo; 10 cents a piece.
Must have been a clerical error in my favor... I shall endeavor to take full advantage of it tomorrow.

So I was flipping through the channels and saw this video on GMC.
Its Cledus T. Judd (country version of weird Al) and his new song, "Waitin' on Obama"
I thought it was funny as hell. He rips on Palin, so it has to be good.

I woke up, worked out, then made french toast...
and I can't eat it. Instead, I poured a some cereal. And since I'm lactose intolorent, I just at it dry. But dang, for some reason... that french toast made me feel yucky. Perfectly good french toast, but something about it made me grossed out...
but, anyways-- i got an interview today. Hopefully, I will land on it... i've been putting applications everywhere forever by now.

I woke up had a beer, & had left over hawaian pizza & asparagus quiche for breakfast...it might not be a breakfast of champions...but it did use up some left overs ;)
And the beer was because I was all out of apple & orange juice, but beer even though it's not just for breakfast anymore, it works in a pinch.
You know you can NEVER GO WRONG with cold pizza & beer !
