Tell me how that works out. I haven't gotten it yet because it looks exactly like the first gears. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but if it's going to be the same game then I think I'll wait a while to buy it.

Just to comment on a small difference between the games, I think the improved there use of color in Gears 2 by alot, while it never bothered me I can see why people are annoyed by all the gray and brown in the first game but the second game really feels more alive and is more visually interesting since they increased there use of different colors.
Besides, there generally isn't a huge gameplay shift between sequels.

It doesn't look completely alike, they did update the character models and updated the dynamic lighting, while doing what therealsylvos said about enhancing the color pallet.
So it's like the jump from halo 2 to halo 3.

The final boss in Gears 2 is a lot less crushingly difficult than the one in the first game. I know a lot of people were really frustrated by the first one.
He followed me home, can I keep him?

Still haven't beaten him on Insane difficulty yet.
But, the boss at the end of Gears 2 was laughable.

I ran a mission in COH the other night that had the main boss of the game Lord Recluse in it.
The problem; "Signature" heroes and villains in the game (like Recluse) are the sole property of members of the COH development team, and as such, don't have to abide by the rules set down in place for enhancements. They can enhance the toon however they want because they have direct access to the source code for the game.
I walked up to Recluse, hit every defense and auto-heal power I had, and 3 seconds later was lying on the ground. Self-revived, and was gone in 2 seconds.

I really liked the challenge that he gave.
Gears 2 hasn't been as memorable as Gears 1 was, it seems. Although then again I am playing it single player... I need to fix my second controller.

I would like to share an important lesson I learned yesterday.
In the event any of you should ever own or maintain a straight razor, keep in mind that when stropping your razor, the cloth belt on a barber's strap does not actually do anything in terms of honing the razor itself. What it's there for (so I learned) is to provide friction against the blade and warm it up a bit before you move to the leather strap, that way the razor can take an edge better.
I learned this the hard way yesterday, as after honing my razor 100 alternating passes on each side on each of those three stones I posted pics of, I made the STUPID mistake of making 100 alternating passes on the cloth side of my barber's strap.
Long story short; the steel heated up to much, and the edge simply dulled out. It wouldn't slice through paper, it wouldn't shave hair off my arm. Now I have to re-sharpen the damn thing.
My hand is going to fall off.

I pointed, laughed, and then busted into tears at your mistake. Now do it again so I can feel all emotions cascading through my mind like a rainbow.

On the topic of phrases that can be taken out of context, In wow I found a place where two of the quests are "blow hotir's horn" and "polish the helm" The horn one could have been innocent on it's own but together there's no way that's accidental.

It's on my Vista...
But, unlike so many stuff for Vista, it actually works pretty well...
But the recent windows update, I think, has an option for either OS.
I've used FireFox, but it sometimes crashes on me....
especially on Vista.

Went to a dog adoption fair today. I had gotten the dates wrong, thinking it was the day for the off-track rescue greyhounds, when it was actually a local rescue called HART. As much as I love greyhounds and have been lobbying for one, we met this gorgeous little beagle mix. Steve has been pushing for a beagle, and I had been resisting. But she was so pretty, and so quiet, and she sat and let me love on her for like twenty minutes.
We've said we won't be getting a dog until we've moved into our house in June, but I don't know if we can make ourselves stick to that. The foster mom said she's had very little interest in this particular dog, she's 3 and has had a litter of puppies already, so she might still be around by then. I hope not for her sake, but if she is, I may not be able to resist. We would definitely have to change her name, since it's the same as my childhood dog that got hit by a car.
