Yeah, I saw this too.
Well, while I don't think anyone agreed with his rabid nationalism, I think we can agree that we wish his safety doing whatever the military has him do.

Fairly easy to find, too. That's one of the things I liked about the Macanudo Maduro .45's. If you're looking for a big stubby to celebrate an occasion with, I'd go with Maduro. Dark, rich, sweet smoke, about $8-9 per.
Also comes in a mini's ten-pack tin... otherwise the .45 will take over an hour to burn. Check it out Proteas.

FUNK SMAS.....
Wait... what's happening?
Who the hell claims that modern rock is rooted in punk? Seriously I have never heard anyone claim that?
Mainly EMO kids. Mainly EMO kids.
It's really a revisionist musical history, where you start with punk, go to hardcore punk, then metal, then back around to EMO. The blues proves EMO to be the biggest ripoff music EVER, because everything EMO wants to be, the Blues IS. In order to be a self respecting EMO (an oxymoron, I know) you have to deny the existence of the Blues, and be ENTIRELY Causcasion-centric to the extent that black people don't exist, and their music doesn't count as Rock and Roll. EMO to some extent is a white backlash against rap, indulging in styles and ideas that are exclusive to white people, such as straight, shaggy hair, androgyny/homosexuality, and wearing make-up. Genetically, white people are much more androgynous than american blacks, black bloodlines being famous for their deliciously buxom women and tall, strong men. Androgyny is pretty much impossible with people who genetically extremely sexually divergent, so that EMO fashion trend is VERY race exclusive, which is just another bad thing about EMOs to stack on the list.
Black eyeliner doesn't look right on you when your skin is black to begin with.

I will never, EVER, EVER like punk.
Punk the word is used to describe anti-authority behavior, so when a fiction genre pops up as "cyberpunk" or "steampunk" it's about the characters in the book, not their music.
As in, books depicting scumbags who like it in the ass. I know. I've read my fair share of cyberpunk literature. It's interesting, and there's some good stuff out there, but as a musician, "punk" is my "n-word". It's just too many derogatory connotations to every be in acceptable use. The whole concept of "punk" glorifies something in society which is inherently detrimental. It's right up there with "Heroine Sheik." I can't stand the band Buckcherry for the same reason; the lifestyle they depict just isn't OK. There's no acceptable amount of hard drug use, and there's no acceptable amount of gutter punk mentality. There's NOTHING cool about squatting in an abandoned house like a fucking bum, and that's EXACTLY what the gutterpunk lifestyle is. It's an inherently parasitic culture.
I however am a fan of the Clash and Sex Pistols because I enjoy the sound of the music and although there is always a bit of a punk in my psyche to dislike authority, I wouldn't identify with the douchebags in the mall that listen to green day.
The Clash is ska, and every decent thing they did sounded like Reggae. The Sex Pistols... Johnny Rotten was a dickhole. He just was. It's a matter of taste, which is to say if you like it.. you have bad taste. If you want some good music, get some MotorHead.

Thanks everyone for the cigar info, I'll pass it along to my brother. :-)

In other news, I bought Guns 'N Roses "Chinese Democracy" while I was out yesterday. I haven't listened all the way through it as yet, but I will give a summation of my thoughts on it thus far;
1. It's not a Gun 'N Roses record, it's an Axel Rose solo effort. But that in itself does not make it a bad record.
2. Axel Rose is the biggest fucking idiot in existence for firing Buckethead as his lead guitar player. Case in point.

I think we learned that Axel was a complete idiot when he fucked up with Slash.
Only reason why I listened to Guns and Roses was for Slash.

How do they go around with that view of thinking.
I mean, we all learned that the rise of Punk was in direct response to what was percieved as commerical rock and Prog rock in the late 70's and how Punk Musicians wanted to go back to the shitty Garage Rock bands of the 60's.
How do they tend to ignore that point. Or the whole idea British Invasion or any of that?
God, this is why I just stick with the Blues and Bluesrock.

I won't argue with you on that; Slash is a hell of a guitar player. But where Slash left of his own accord, Buckethead was fired due to his "transient lifestyle, inconsistent and unreliable behavior."
Let that sink in for a few minutes.

I find that, with the exception of samplers, I can't just order something from a cigar catalog. I have to see a cigar in person, hold it up in the light, give it a good sniff, feel its heft, other touchy-feely intuition crap that you have to do a few dozen times. And even then you don't really know anything about a cigar til you've smoked it.

The ironic thing is that my stepmom and dad are actually divorced, but she still is really generous and nice to me.
Makes me feel kinda bad because I never really liked her when we lived with her; I felt like she was replacing my nanny, who was the woman who I identified with as my mom. But we get along a LOT better now. She even offered to give me a place to stay if I were to go to college in Minneapolis.
