Though to be fair it at least added another fun night to week. You could stay up late and not have to wake up till later the next morning.

What I like, due to wonder of my schedule is that they scheduled Spring Break the week after Evacuation Day. So I get to have at least two weeks of somewhat easiness in March.

I need to break down and buy that translucent arkansas stone I saw a while back. My surgical black is good for putting a basic edge on my straight razor, but it makes it feel like I'm using a slightly dulled safety razor. I used my dad's franz swaty hone the other day, and it works VERY WELL, but the edge it leaves doesn't last very long because it's too fine. I need something that's a step between so it can hold a good edge.

I also want to get my hands on a newer straight razor, mine's an antique ("Steel City?") and I'm a bit leery of using it anymore than I already have.

I need to post a picture of that old Wade & Butcher straight razor I got as a gift earlier this year... civil war era straight razor.

Yeah it's a must the knife already be reasonably sharp. The steel deburs sharpened blades very nicely, plus it looks slick as shit when you get cruisin'.

I pitched in to buy my dad a nice knife set, a Messermeister 17pc. carry-along, a while back and wow.. they've got great steel in their knives. Once you get the edge you want with the two-sided stone, the sharpening steel let's you cruise a long time without busting out the oil and rags. I really can't see myself using much more than a combination of the two when it comes to sharpening blades.
