So,

No, I say we go further into the Matrix. I'll pose to you the same question that was posed on smodcast awhile back. You're in the matrix, you're living in a program while your body's in a tube somewhere. You meet someone in the matrix who is also a real person somewhere in a tube. You fall in love, get married and have a kid. Do you have a kid in the real world?
Secondard question, are you and the other person really married?

Is anyone bothered how people walk around basically all day hearing their iPods?
I mean... they're waiting to be mugged in my opinion.

Especially these girl on these lonely tracks...
I dunno.

Just came out of a fight from my sister, who is such a person. She likes to run track while hearing the iPod and the thing is that she likes to go in evenings... which are starting to become darker. And I'm not always there for her, and the thought that she's running and not being alert to your surrounding bodes stupidity to the max!

I told her to use only one ear phone and let the other one free so that she can at least hear something in the real world...

Jesus...

No! You're not getting rid of the E-friends topic!

Ok, ok, so, I wasn't ALWAYS popular IRL. I'm unashamed; most of the people I knew back then weren't worth being friends with. I'm from the wrong side of town; I'd probably be a raging druggie had I been popular when I was 18-21 or so. However, the internet was a place where I could just kind of let the abuse wash over me, as opposed to IRL, where I literally had to fight tooth and nail for every bit of respect I earned. My neighborhood had a bit of a prison mentality to it; if you weren't X amount of tough, you were a victim, plain and simple. As a large guy who felt violence was a waste of time, I didn't get much respect in that kind of culture. Since I can't beat the shit out of a person one day and be their friend the next (common practice in my neighborhood; pressing charges was for "snitches") I just had a long list of people I'd shit kicked at various times.

So in comes the internet, and e-friends, where I found out that no, there ARE people out there who enjoy intelligence and creativity, who DON'T think robbing an old lady of her dead husband's pistol was a fine way to spend a saturday night, or that hardcore drugs were the most fun thing on the planet, or that raping drunk girls was morally acceptable.

Do you see where I come from now? WE USED TO BREAK INTO ABANDONED BUILDINGS TO SMOKE DOPE FOR FUN. Can you even IMAGINE? We considered this NORMAL. We literally used to go through the back woods near the house to bust molotov cocktails; people from where I'm from PICK FIST FIGHTS JUST FOR SOMETHING TO DO. When I was maybe 15, I beat a guy senseless, pulled off his belt, cinched it around his throat, DID THE BUCKLE, and THEN CONTINUED BEATING HIS ASS. I'm lucky he's not dead; THIS WAS CONSIDERED NORMAL. WE'RE STILL FRIENDS!!! When I was 19, I tracked down a guy who cut me when I was 15, and ripped his fucking earings out. Even to this day I can slip behind a grown man DURING A FIGHT, and pick him up by his throat, arching my back as I hold him in the air by his neck until he either passes out or gives up. The last time I did this was TWO MONTHS AGO, AND I WASN'T EVEN ANGRY (I don't feel emotions. I never really have; head injury when I was 7 or so.)

So it was only later on in life that I realized why I had this chick with DD breasts who was my bestfriend and called me everyday to talk for two hours or so, or why my teachers had always loved me, or why I always had good relations with my extended family. It ends up I wasn't some kind of asshole, it was the exact OPPOSITE: I was fucking awesome, and the people AROUND ME were assholes, and they didn't like hanging around me because I made them LOOK like the assholes they were in comparison

That's when I realized that I can pretty much do whatever the fuck I want, and that I don't have to kiss ass to make friends. I was NEVER willing to be anyone other than myself to have friends, so for a long time I didn't have many. The trick wasn't changing who I was to make friends, the trick was FINDING PEOPLE WHO DIDN'T SUCK. That's when I started doing music a lot, forming bands, playing out; musicians are the cream of the crop, the best of the best as far as friends go, because you have to be intelligent AND loyal to your craft to get good. Other than intelligence and loyalty, what can you ask of a friend?

My point is that before e-friends, I had no IDEA what normal, civilized behavior was. I was a fucking animal before that; I only really lived and breathed to cause as much pain as I possibly could to whoever was dumb enough to come across my bad side. Before e-friends, I based my self-esteem on this ability to be efficiently vicious and strike fear into the people around me, because otherwise I was just another mark waiting to get robbed. One of the reasons I never openly show anger is because when you're honestly about to fuck someone's world up, the LAST thing you want them to be able to do is see it coming. That's why EMO's are so funny to me; they always want to scream about how tough they are and how much they're going to hurt you, but if they actually WERE or knew something about it, they would keep their fucking mouths shut and wait patiently for you to turn your back like a sucker.

/end wall of text.

BTW, I didn't know Mal went to last meat! I totally need to go this year! I've been itching for a meat since gas prices went down... hopefully awesomeness will ensue sometime this june.

People should really stop sharing so much here, it's...uncomfortable.

Honestly, were on the internet. Some stuff, in my own opinion shouldn't be said.

It's even true in real life. Emotions and feelings shouldn't be expressed all willy nilly like.

You keep these things inside of you and you don't share them.

Then don't read it. I think people should be able to share whatever they want, with whoever they want. Online or whatever. I think FUNK makes valid points and as someone who met him before and after he got his IRL life better, I'd say the change was both dramatic and good for him. The man looked healthier, happier, and more happy about his life and since I genuinely like FUNK (even if I sometimes disagree with him and/or am scared of him :p) I'm happy to see that. I'm all for e-friendships, dating, or whatever. People need people, and if this is the best way they can do it, more power to 'em.

My neice told me she's going to see twilight. I have been advised that she is a good and smart kid and that the emo thing is a phase. That being said I will try not to repeat Southpark in this rant.

This is what pisses me off about the whole vampire angst thing. The whole point of being a vampire is that you live for a really long time. You have oppretunities to deal with your issues. If you've been 17 for more than a hundred years it is no longer an adjustment phase. You should now be used to both your immortal state and being 17. I'm not even immortal and it only 10 years later I have a fairly good grip on what it meant to be 17.
And you do not get to be awkward and out of touch with the current state of things. You did not just step out of a time machine. You have lived all of the intervening years. We can all be in love with our pasts. I still love old music and I listen to it on my video enabled ipod. What outdated jargon I use I use to text people on my phone with a camera and web access.
All these points are doubled by the fact these fucks can apparently go out in the daytime.

Not to diminish Funk, but I'm not saying talking in general isn't therapeutic. I know that talking in general is always good-- how often have I shared my own problems here on this board.

But I think talking has helped Funk more than the actual act of going online and speaking to people. You could have the same thing by going outside and talking to strangers... or psychologists, priests.

But saying you have a girlfriend or boyfriend... online???
You're just talking to a ghost, really. Something that's there but not there. It could be an interesting way to meet up people. Heck, in the past... that's how i meet other guys. Meet up online, talk, date, movies... and then the bed.

It's important to have a good balance of everything. You can't simply have friends online cause... the computer... it's not really life. It's more of a way to escape, really.

I think the computer has removed interaction. People are shy about showing their faces cause their is that fear of rejection. Oh, I'm ugly... oh, I'm fat... oh, I got acne... oh, there's this, oh there's that! And when you let that control you, you become inward... less socially interactive. And that to me means going deeper in a hole...

It's a balancing act... go to Newgrounds, MySpace, whatever...
But also have a slice of life with it...

Saw Twilight last night. Was a lot better than I expected. Will write a review for it later.

Leaving for Florida today (I think). We're driving down to Milwaukee and then flying to Tampa to see my grandma. Then again, I woke up this morning and I have no idea where my dad is and the car is gone, so *shrugs*.

See y'all later. :)

There's a really stupid graphic novel called Cowboys and Aliens from the same people who published the original Men in Black GN. They were hoping it would take off and get made into a movie too. It was pretty dumb, but it did involve Indians on flying horses. Maybe the publisher's dream will come true and you'll get your alien/cowboy mixemup.

No, I'm still here... I'm just reading Cell, and then a few friends of Isaias came over. But it's like... I'm waiting. I just don't want to be sitting in a crowd of a bunch of high school/ middle school girls, saying, "Oh-my-God, oh-my-gawd..."

I remember my own "vampire phase"-- with the Vampire Chronicles...
blah... can't believe I was sooooooooo like that.
