As Dennis Leary said, "Not eating meat is a choice, eating meat is an instinct." You're naturally drawn to the succulent meat of the chicken wing, that's all. If the sauce bother's you, tone it down a bit. Usually when I go to Zaxby's and get wings, I either get original or wimpy for the sauce. I tried Nuclear once and I won't do it again.

If it's digestion that's bothering you, do what I started doing; Ginger Root, and Fish/Flax/Borage oil pills. That, and some really strong peppermint gum after the meal (I like Polar Ice flavor). It will still burn coming out, but you won't want to die immediately after your meal.

----

One of my co-workers yesterday brought me a bowl of vegetable beef stew his wife made. It had a V-8 juice base, corn, potatos, peas, carrots, olives.... it was DELICIOUS, and it hit my stomach like a damn brick. It was not a good meal for a work lunch, as I immediately wanted to curl up on the couch and sleep for the next 12 hours. And it's kind of put me in the mood to make some soup myself... chili sounds nice.

Why is it we associate easting stuff that's spicy far beyond the point of enjoyment with manliness? I mean even if you do meet a woman who's impressed by that, and I'm not imagining a beautiful woman being the one impressed by that scenario, if you did take her home the first hour of the or so will be spent in the bathroom.

1: Spicy foods release endorphins in the brain, just like sex and heroine.
2: the Chubby One compels you to
3: HELLO!!! SPICY DELICIOUSNESS, ANYONE?!?!

There is a solution, however; drink yourself into a stupor. That way you're too drunk to get more wings!

;;;; There is another solution.
Get some sour cream and say some nacho's... with hot peppers as well.
When the burn gets to be too much, eat some chips peppers & all & scoop up lots of sour cream with each chip.
If you don't like sour cream or yogurt. get a glass of milk.
Something in the dairy product negates the effect of the capsaicin ( the stuff that gives hot peppers their burn)
Any dairy product will work, even ice cream.
When you handle and chop up hot peppers, water will not take the oils off/out of your skin. Wash you hands in yogurt or other dairy product , work it into your skin it'll take several minutes & rinsing & doing it again is the best way...its the only thing I know that works.
Beer is my first suggestion, and you may eventually feel better but dairy products are faster.

See? I've got this shit all figured out .

I see that... for a fast hangover cure...huevos rancheros.
Now your feeling better ;)

You guys suck - now I want buffalo wings.

They are the love of my life and the bane of my existence. It's like my tongue can handle the heat, but my lips and the insides of my cheeks can't. And then there's the indigestion. Oh, God, the indigestion. But I can't stay away.

Totally unrelated, but I think my rat may have a tumor on his leg. It's soft, and the cancerous ones are usually hard. And he doesn't have any indication of pain, and it doesn't get in his way...so I'm ignoring it. He gets so freaked out going to the vet, and at his age I doubt he'd survive surgery to remove it (and they always want to remove them, cancerous or not). So until he starts acting like he's in pain, he can have his ugly leg lump.

Little animals are kind of bittersweet. They don't live very long, and you still feel as strongly for them as something that will be with you for ten or fifteen years. We've pushed back our house purchase until June, and I have my doubts that he will be alive to move with us.

This is my favorite video of him ever. He's doing the exact same thing right now, sitting next to me on the couch.

He followed me home, can I keep him?

OK, what the hell are you going on about? You took down a fraternity at your school? That's crazy! do tell!

also, I have lots of bad snews (yes S-N-E-W-S)

My dad killed my pet snake while he was taking care of her :(

His cats had caught a shrew and left it on his lap while he was asleep and he woke up with a half dead shrew in his bed. So, thinking he would give the snake a snack, he dropped the shrew in.

She ate the shrew, and was fine but the next week she didn't eat her mouse. She didn't eat the week after that and began a difficult shed. She was shedding in small amounts and chunks and eventually after 3 weeks she had died.

My dad feels bad because he really didn't want to take care of the snake (although I don't know why he never brought her out to my new place before) and saw it as a burden and didn't mean to cause any arm to her at all. He actually confided in me that he found her to be a pretty cool pet, but added no more snakes until after college.

I've heard shrews are poisonous to snakes...I donno, judging by the amount of time it took for her to die I think the shrew just had some type of diseas or bacteria or whatnot...or she could have gotten a respiratory infection which snakes pretty much always die from.

I also learned that my franken-car did not pass inspection. The gas tank that my dad had put into it from the other car was also leaking, and there is too much rust on the frame.

Guess I have to keep the van for another year.

Sorry to hear about your snake, Mal...
I will never like snakes, but I knew it was your pet and losing pets is difficult.

My doves, the white ones at least, are already at an age where they can die from old age. I hope they won't. They're very healthy and look happy.

As far about shrews... I heard they have a poisonous bite. They're one of the few mamels that produce their own poison. Maybe that had to do with your pet's death.

In any case, I hope you will feel better...

that's how my wife is. She is rated at like 5+ years or something so she gets to register like right when class registration begins, whereas I have to register 2 days after her (granted I'm rated 3rd year so it's not like I was signing up almost a week after her).

Dogs are the worste at dying. They will act all tough and totally healthy and then one day they die and it's like 'when was she sick?!" and you find out they've had cancer for a few months and didn't even make mention of the pain.

also sad news: my dog has cancer..but she's more my mom's dog now and I feel bad for my mom because she really loves the dog. :(

I'm really not that sad though. The dog, like your birds, is quite old and I'm surprised she's made it this far already. She's been hit a few times and has had thyroid issues and has had weight (over and under) problems...but she made it a good long and happy dog life.

As far about shrews... I heard they have a poisonous bite. They're one of the few mamels that produce their own poison. Maybe that had to do with your pet's death.

that's what I had heard, although you'd figure it would have been a bit quicker than 3 weeks to kill her, which is why I think the shrew had all sorts of dirty shrew diseases and bacteria and mites.

In any case, I hope you will feel better...

Thank you, fli. I appreciate your kind words.
