Yes, it's a Halloween costume. Yes, the child is Mormon. No, it's not a childhood picture of a certain former Poli reg.

They're calling for a rather nasty snowstorm in my hometown. Schools had already cancelled classes. Weather man was calling for up to a foot of snow in some place.

FINALLY finished writing chapter four of Grass in the Roses. Damn thing was so big it took TWO newposts.
JESUS. I don't know if these chapters are getting longer, or if they're reducing post size.... Apparently 4 front and back hand written pages is NOT a stand measure of length. I wonder if my handwriting is getting smaller?
BTW, lesbian erotica in this one. No actually sexings, though, I'm saving the hardcore shit for a later scene with Berry, although of what kind I really don't know.

The folks that made mine offer them in widths starting at 2 mm, though I think their thickness is the same no matter what. Mine is 5 mm wide and his is 8. A narrower ring is going to feel less bulky, but is going to fit a little looser.
I'm going to be happy to retire the engagement ring. It's pretty, but the stone has sharp points on it, and I keep scratching myself.

yeah, presidential elections have that effect.
Although some of the kids flocking here from General may be annoying now, they may mature into some good politics regulars if they stick around after the election, which would be sort of nice for the forum itself. I think this place feels like a zoo every 4 years, but it's how we get new faces and we don't wind up squabbling with the same set of people we've been debating with for the last 4 years...

So far, I managed to run 5 K (well, 4.6) at 10 km/h, which is quite the achievement, this is me 3 runs ago:

In my prime I averaged about 18 minutes for a 5k race, so doing 10 in an hour should be pretty easy, even for the beginner. Just remember to keep an even pace, and run farther than your race distance to help build the endurance needed to up your speed.
Basically, if you can run 10 miles (~16k) at 8-9k/hr you should easily be able to run 10k at the faster pace. The goal is consistency, you don't want to slow down very much over time, thus in order to best practice a good pace, go slower, but keep the constant pace, for longer. Adding speed after your legs are used to running the distance is actually quite easy.
Good luck! :)

Ah, English pronunciation.
Yeah--
It's Enrique. (Pronounce "Henry" without the h-sound, and put a "Kay" sound in the end.)
But my teacher, who couldn't say "En-Ree-Kay" kept on saying "En-Ree-Gay."
I think I got sent to the principle when I said, "NOT GAY... KAY, KAY, KAY, GODDAMIT KAY!"
So, in the end... she just called me "Henry" or "E-ricky."
And up to this day...
I pronounce my own name in Anglophonic sounds, or I use either Henry or Che.
And I am conflicted in if I want to give an English or Spanish sounding names to my children... although, some of the girl names are easier like Christina, Diana, Maria.
But.... boy names.
I can't think of a few boy names that lapse between cultures. But I did name my own son Che, which is essentially "dude" or "guy" in Argentina.
It's an important consideration for me because my last name is one of those names that don't match easily... and it's doubley hard because it's Spanish.

You are my hero. Well, you were before but now you're more.
You could've won the race I went on saturday!
so doing 10 in an hour should be pretty easy, even for the beginner. Just remember to keep an even pace, and run farther than your race distance to help build the endurance needed to up your speed.
hmmm, thanks for the tip; I was actually running 400 m less :P
Basically, if you can run 10 miles (~16k) at 8-9k/hr
I can't, lol

Yeah, I tried running really fast in the last lap, but that didn't work, I think that if I hadn't done that, I would've got 10 km/h, not 9,97.
Adding speed after your legs are used to running the distance is actually quite easy.
I used to run 11.5 km, but I never got above 8 km/h, so this year I'm going to try to increase length without reducing speed.
Good luck! :)
Thanks! :D

They called me Wally, because I brought a striped sweater once. It wasn't even red and white.

Did people just give up on intelligent debate around here?
I started a Devil's Advocate thread like two days ago, and it took to page TWO to get a serious response. WTF? Is it really THAT hard to put up a working logical argument against a modified version of Platonic style slavery?

Hey, those dipshits are shunned from the lounge. That being said, any population is bound to have uppers and lowers. It's just how humanity works.
