Okay, I've got a question; has anyone who plays mmorpg's (not just City of Heroes) ever had experience with Gagora? I keep getting messages from these people in my inbox on COH, and I finally decided to look into it tonight. I've heard of people paying real cash for in-game gold in World of Warcraft, is this what they're referring to? Or is this a scam?

It's both. Buying gold is against the rules so if you're caught doing it they can kick you out. And it's not their fault you wasted your money. It still gets done but I'm no where near brave enough to try and find out how.
Also, I heard some unconfirmed news thing that in order to buy an epic mount (high level horse) some woman had resorted to the oldest form of commerce. It sounds fake but as I'm sure you've seen there are people into these things enough to do it.

My coworker/COH mentor pretty much said the same thing. He explained it as the guy in charge of it as being a chinese farmer with 7 or so COH accounts, each running a Fire/Empathy Controller. By running the particular farm mission that most higher-level players like to run, he is able to get massive amounts of influence in addition to being able to power level your character from 1 to 50 in about 2 days. All the while doing this from the comfort of his home on 8 liquid cooled pc's.

He said on one occasion though, just to fuck with the guy, he (my friend) got one of the Giant Monsters in the game that exists on the islands north of Peregrine Island to follow them to the mainland to where this farmer hung out, and they turned the beast loose on the guy.

Also, I heard some unconfirmed news thing that in order to buy an epic mount (high level horse) some woman had resorted to the oldest form of commerce. It sounds fake but as I'm sure you've seen there are people into these things enough to do it.

I seem to remember there being a story on the news last year that two WOW players got into a fight in real life because one of them stole a high-level weapon from the other. And I don't mean sissy hand-slapping fight either, I think one of them got hospitalized and died.

I'm so ready for this halloween event to be over that it's not funny. I've got all the badges I could get from it, I got the goofy little "Pumpkin Head" helmet piece they give out.... blegh.

Cost. How much would it cost them to film on the lake in your town for the day versus doing it somewhere in Hollywood?

Another of my co-workers had the Smokey Mountain Knife Works Christmas catalog out on the break-room table today at lunch, and let me thumb through it. Nothing I really haven't seen before, but I almost fell out when I saw the page with all the Sawmill Cutlery knives on it. Handmade, relatively inexpensive knives made from old flat files. You can't see it in the picture, but the dark grey area of the sword is actually indentations from the file teeth. FUCKING AWESOME.

I want a sword...but what use is that thing? all it says is "redneck sword" do rednecks need swords for some type of inbreeding duel system?

In the simplest terms, making knives and the like from flat files is something that is uniquely Appalachian, and by extension, uniquely Southern. The steel itself is 1095 series tool steel *cough*KA-BAR*cough*, and when properly ground and treated can hold one HELL of an edge.

So when I saw that they had made a sword from a file, and dubbed it the "Redneck" sword, I almost fell out laughing.

They do that on WoW too. The more recent ones guarentee your character will come out with 1000 gold and a mid level horse. There's also walk throughts you can buy that basically do what a walkthrough does for any game. It's a bit more forgivable

I heard one where two kids outright capped a guy and cleaned his character out.

There's also a pumkin head thing with the WoW premotion. I don't know which came first but we had them at least since last year so, yeah. Also, you can throw jackolanterns onto other players heads. Doing this from the sky is exactly as fun as it sounds. Doing it from the sky on the headless horsemans horse, wearing his helmet (which lets you do his laugh) and weilding his sword is just a nerdgasm
Also, something new last night, instead of fighting zombies you can become one. You fight in the attacks and if you get caught in the gas for too long you're infected. You could cure it like any other sickness but fuck that, I wanna be a zombie. As a zombie you move like a zombie and your options are limited to attacking townspeople to transform them and spitting up gas clouds to infect other players. And on the death screen you explode
I also like swords.

Want Spirit talk? Ok! I've been waiting for this actually:

Answer these questions and I'll tell you why I think this movie is in trouble and perhaps even a bad idea:

Who created The Spirit?

When was The Spirit first published?

Name one Spirit story, or describe in brief the plot of one Spirit story?

So, don't mind my suicide and all that... I mean, I've planned it since Freddy vs Jason. Now I have the perfect timing. I will be like that old guy who committed suicide when he heard somebody yelled, "Snape kills Dumbledoore."

Heard some jokes about Shia Labeouf being Freddy, and I am not sure it's real.
Even Jonny Deep being the new Freddy.

I have plans to make knife-gloves... and going over to the houses of who ever is involved making this remake.

Long long ago in a gal... well, long ago anyway.

Name one Spirit story, or describe in brief the plot of one Spirit story?

Can't... never read it, though a new series is currently being published by DC.

Y'know, the unfamiliarity of most people with the material might actually be a good thing. No rabid fanboys raving about how their favorite superhero should be in their eyes, and how the movie, which almost by definition must leave parts of the story out, left out this or that crucial part of the story (Hi Tom Bombadil, how r u?).

That said, they better not fuck up The Watchmen.
