Had the discussion with the landlord. Determined that the landlord had pretty much breached every single clause in the contract. My housemates step dad recokons the place could be condemned.

The best bit was when the landlord was given my housemates dad's business card. His dad is an MP = ) The landlords face was priceless.

He shouldn't take it any further. If he does he's an idiot.
