So lonely... so sad.

It's like I'm the only gay guy not excited about Sex in the City, the movie, coming out on DVD.
I saw one episode during summer, even vowed to buy the DVDs.

But I just can't help it.
It's on, and I'm disengaged.

Oh, this is something I've been wanting to share with folks for a while.

This is two separate screencaps of my City of Heroes character, the martial arts/regen scrapper. I've got a total of five costume slots in the game, but these are the two costumes I prefer. The one the left is my primary costume, the one on the right is something I came up with recently after seeing another player use the body armor costume with a Captain America color scheme. (I do have a slot dedicated to just the outfit, sans trench coat). The second one would be a lot more kickass if I could throw fire or something.... I don't know...

Is it just me, or do teachers like to screw with you.

I missed one of the classes on Thursday for unrelated reasons. Knowing later that the class was were we were designated our workshop groups, I sent out an email to the teacher to find out what group I was in so that I could do my work and my fellow group members would be able to do thier work.

The class I missed was an 8:00 am on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I missed the Thursday one. I sent the email at about noon on that thursday, I just got a reply today(monday at 2:30), for the members of the workshop groups.

We were basically supposed to write critique letters of each group members essay. Since it's the day before when all of this is due, and the fact more then likely I'm not going to recieve credit for any of this (but my roomates will be fine, since I didn't do it, they don't have to do anything) and the fact that I just don't want to be a dick to my group mates for missing the class, I'm just not going to email them my essay for them to critique.

I see no reason to screw them over at the last minute, they'll be fine regardless as thier grade won't be hurt.

Some teachers are good...
some of them are total bitches.

I had a teacher make me a homophobic remark to me, outside campus, about a year ago. But, we had a beligerent relationship together that stemmed from our political differences.

Basically, she taught Chaucer and she commented on marriage.
Someone brought gay marriage.
She got bitch mode on him.
People asked more questions... and, someone was saying, "Discussing gay marriage."
Then she said, "Don't you mean, disgusting gay marriage."

I got up quietly got my things to go, she asked if I was leaving and I said, "Yes."
Then she was like, "Don't return class. Ever."

I hadn't said a word. I just didn't want to hear her or the rest of the class.
And so-- I went to the dead, said that she was out of line for kicking out of class when, clearly, she was being a jerk and steping over bounderies.

Dean said she shouldn't do that, and... it was a strike against her, even though she had tenor.
And the rest of the semester, she made things very rough for me... she became total grammar nazi on my essays, and refused to even read them if I ended a sentence in a preposition.

And then there was a moment when she tried to embarass me in class, because I forgot what a transitive verb was. It happened when I said to a friend, "Yeah, that sucks!" She sighs, taking me by suprise, and says, "Sucks is a transitive verb...."

"Okay..." I said.
"What do you have to do to make it right?"
"I... err..." I stumbled.
"Do you even know what a transitive verb is?"
"I'm forgetting."
And then she says, "To make that exclaimation correct, that sucks... what?"
And my mind races, and I'm upset, and say, "That sucks... cocks."

Everyone laughs... because her last name is "Cox."

Bada-bing...

And for the rest of the semester, things became ugly between us. And I wrote in her evaluation just EVERY thing that she did to me. Permenant, in her record.

And, so, foward around last year... we're walking in downtown and we cross paths. And, lo and behold, she says something, "Still trying to get me fired?"

And I sort of went like, "Fuck you bitch, I aint in your class anymore."
And it felt sooooo good to have that off my chest.

But, anyways, she's going to lose her tenor this semester-- too many contraversies and allegations of homophobia and racism. I heard someone say that she called a Black studen Hersey Face. Don't know if it's real, but... I can easily imagine it.

My mates birthday party thing was on Saturday night. I went to it, ended up spending most the night drinking and chatting with a woman who my mate knows from work. At some point she got nail varnish out and I ended up with my fignernails being painted.

The moral of this story is only have single cognac no matter how tempting and cheap the double is!

This is why I was glad I had a sister that had all these things.

Well, at least you knew your fingers got painted. As for me, I was laying out back one day, fell asleep, and the next thing you know I'm looking at my toe nails that are now dried with a shade of pink. Crap.

The worst part was the shade didn't even match my eyes!

Oh how I would have LOVED to do have done that to one or two of my old college teachers.

I had English class with this one lady who was, and I am not making this up, an old hippie. She did not hand out grades, she handed out check marks (full check, half check, quarter check, etc etc), and had a "Holistic Syllabus" that we MIGHT follow.

Then there was the elementary algebra teacher who knocked five points off a piece of homework I turned in because I used a paperclip instead of a staple to hold both pages together....

Buy it anyway. Nail polish remover is the closest thing to denatured alcohol you can buy without having to set foot in a hardware store and buying it in large quantities, and it also is a great cleaning solution for cleaning glass (getting stickergum off, dirt).

If it has alternative uses then I may buy some. My drinking escapades normally end up with me doing something like getting my fingernails painted. I'm just glad tattoo parlours dont serve drunk people otherwise I'd be screwed over big time.

I'd show a picture of my warcraft guy but he basically looks like any other geared warrior. Appearence custimization is not a strong suit in that game.
While we're talking about that I have a complaint. Wow has an expansion coming in November and with it comes the oppritunity to unlock an uber-class character. To put in your terms, think Wolverine with a big ass gun.
The interesting thing about said class is that you were going to get one by going on quests with a high level character and essentually sacrificing them and getting the new guy in their place. The new guy would start out at a high level with really good gear.
The story I was told is that enough people complained about having to put work into a character only to sacrifice it that they changed that. Now you just have to do the quest and it unlocks them. So now people like me who have put a whole bunch of time into an alternate character for the sole purpose of sacrifing them are a wee bit pissed.
Overall, I don't see the problem. You put time and effort into making a high leveled and geared character and at the end of the day that's what you would have. So basically this is victory for people who fell in love with playing their specific class.

Extreme health regeneration and a firearm?

I can see that, but I can also sympathize with viewing it as wasted effort if you didn't really need another character on your account.

They recently came out with a "Cyborgs" booster pack for COH, and I'm about to buy it to see what the hub-bub is all about. From what I can tell thus far, it's just an expansion set that allows you to taylor your character's appearance to look robotic, which doesn't do much for me, but there's a special cyborg "power" included called Self-Destruct.

My friend that got me into this game told me over private chat the other night that someone in the crew he was running with tested out the power after popping a bunch of accuracy power-ups and hitting a bunch of defense-reduction attacks on the surrounding enemies, and completely obliterated everything in sight.

I'm curious as to how this might work in a player-versus-player zone....

Basically a deathknight, specced appropratly, will be able heal, do massive damage melee or ranged (dence the gun) or tank, which from the wiki on city of heroes is a term you inderstand

If you don't want a deathknight no one is making you make one. This argument is entirly amoung people who want one.

Understood, and a bit envious to boot. One thing I don't like about my scrapper; you can spec out the healing powers to the point where you regenerate health like a GOD, but the "Martial Arts" set of attack powers are all set to where no matter how you slot them you can only do moderate amounts of mele damage, that's it. Only two of my attacks have a secondary effect that will stun the opponent, but that's one of those screwball "chance" deals that MIGHT happen.

And this man is a GENIUS.

Yeah. I have a trinket on my guy that has a chance of hitting the guy I'm hitting with lightning so I know how that is. Not dependable.
There is one class in Wow, the druids, who can be specced for melee, tanking or healing but it's very much a "jack of all trades, king of none" situation. A deathknight is meant to do everything I just told you while wearing the heavy armor and not being dependant on one kind of item for their powers.
The reason people were making alternate characters for deathknights is because they didn't want to give up their main characters. In this situation generally the character is the highest level, specced how we liked, has a bunch of gear you can't just buy and, yes, there is a level of sentementality. So making an alt to throw to the wolves was acceptable.
Now that it's just a quest that we could do with our main characters and then keep them we're left with alts we didn't really make to play as. I made my alt a mage (blaster) because I wanted to experiment with something different than the melee style I usually do, all this with the understanding that at some point he was going to be wearing armor and have a sword in his hand. Now I don't have anything against playing as a mage but the point is I didn't make him for him to remain a mage.

That's more or less what I was referring to earlier when I said I sympathized with the wow players. To put all that effort into making a chacter to sacrifice, just to wind up keeping him anyway would frustrate the hell out of me.

Do they have respecs in wow?

----

I just bought the Cyborg booster from the NCsoft store and had it applied to my account. The costumes are available to the characters I've already made, but the self destruct power is not. It's only available to new characters you create. So I dug through a few things and found a blaster/mage character my friend suggested I make; fire and energy blasts. The ability to burn someone and damage-over-time from afar or electrocute them and rob them of stun them from up while they burn is going to make this a very interesting build indeed.

But... well... to borrow a joke from Jeff Dunham and Achmend the Dead Terrorist... I had a "Premature Detonation."

I was running along with my new character, and before I had my powers set to activate accordingly to my keyboard keys, I accidentally hit the corresponding key to the "Self Destruct" power. It took 10 seconds to execute and I couldn't cancel it out once it started, either. The graphics were great, but there's a one-hour recharge time on it. So yeah... I'll be saving that one for a special occaison.

Oh yeah. You can go to a trainer, drop a bunch of gold and respec all you want. Of course the problem with this is you may not have gear that's optimal for the new set. Like my warrior has two hand weapons. If I wanted to respec him into a tank I'd put one in storage and get a shield. Getting said shield would be as time consuming as getting the weapon had been so unless you plan to go back and forth not a lot of people have both.

Ever since you meantioned that add on all I've been able to think of is making a robot archer.
