You know what I think really SUCKS .... I've spent the last couple of Days setting up an outside show for a Keith Urban concert. Yesterday there were a bunch of earlier acts there, including Great Big Sea.... But when Urban starts doing his set & he's using other Artists material, along with some of his own (I don't have any music by him) the stuff I didn't recognise I figured was his own !
W T F is it with these F*&^%$G guy's. I mean sure I was being paid to be there, but the people who paid over $100.00 a ticket should have been pissed .
Like Kid Rock sings a song with the music from Werewolves of London by Warren Zevon... Sweet hme Alabama by Skynyrd's & people pay money for that shit !?!?!?!
FUCKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK KKKKK.

On a completely different note ;
Take care Seven...blow up your water wings & keep a long piece of rope handy...just in case you need to tie yourself down. ; / best of luck .

I'm not sure what you mean by "other artists material," but it's not all that uncommon for country artists to perform songs they didn't write themselves, if that's what you mean. Just turn on CMT sometime and see how the songwriter/s are credited at the end of the video, along with the director.

Kid Rock started out as a D.J., man, that's what he was known for; taking samples and rapping over them. The first tune I ever heard from him was "American Badass" when it was used as the entrance theme for the Undertaker, and it used the main riff from "Sad But True" by Metallica.

Proteas, I would rather take this nice cleaver I got today & partice using it on my extremeties, than turn on CMT. But I have worked on more Country Acts than I can remember...Willie don't do others material live., neither does Kenny Rogers...I worked a Reba Macintyre show...all her own stuff, I remember one of my first shows I was a truck loader & was in school & Waylon Jennigs was in Halifax, he palyed his own stuff live. I've seen George Jones in concert more than once...most of it was so old I could tell you if it was his or not, but I believe it was.

Din't know that, but seeing that rap shows here are crewed by techs who have been begged to do the work, you can figure it out.
Only in America can those who with no real talent of their own can use pieces of the talent of others to become famous themselves....
That's actually depressing when you think about it.

Good for you , you've covered your bases the best you can, now go & get yourself into a safer area.

We are being hit with a major thunder & lightning storm right now. Power has been knocked out twice so far & we also had a temperary loss of Internet & phone services, but the power stayed on, after that blast of lightning the whole building here shook.
It is so dark out & sometimes the rain has been hitting the windows so hard it sounds like hail.

I am going to go out for a drive around the village in my truck(& probably visit the pub) ... just because I can... I'm not letting a little rain & wind ruin my day off !

You may never be able to look at horrific plane crashes or feuds with Neil Young with that same wide eyed innocence ever again.

And you don't have to be 'southern' to love that music.

Fitting both musically and thematically. Both the origional and metal "staying alive" are about tough city life as blueglass fans also like fuel for things like nascar and monster trucks. Well done. I'm tempted to go for the Avril Lavinge version of "fuel" but my face would melt. Well done.
Now Richard Cheese would just be cheating but I still think an established artist is the best way to go here. I counter with Pat Boone: Holy Diver.

Southern is a mindset, not a location.

That said, Kid Rock's "All Summer Long" intros like "Werewolves of London" so when I switch the station it's usually pretty loud and I'm usually pretty pissed.

That song he did with Fiona Apple or Shania Twain, "Picture" was pretty good though for a softer song.

You know, I really feel like a dick now, because Seven and More are talking about how they're getting pounded by storms and....

I just got one of those "Sounds of Nature" relaxation cds, with about 40 minutes of rain and thunder on it. It hasn't rained here in a week or more and I miss the sound of rain.

Echoes of Nature: Thunderstorm.

I wish I had some "Stormwatch" scented candles from Yankee Candles to go with this, it would kick ass right now. But alas, they retired that scent. Bastards.

Although Seven is waiting out the storm, I keep forgeting to post the pic of the new birds...
So this is the yellow cockatiel, the one named Woodstock. (Although, it's a hard name for my Spanish speaking mom to pronounce, and lately she's calling him "Piolin," which is the Spanish name for Tweety.)

But I sometimes call Woodstock as Chocobo (yes, I play Final Fantasy.)

But, lately, he's become very possesive and fiesty. He bite me hard on the nose... So when he's like that, I call him, "Yellow Bastard."

So many names for one small bird...
