It may just be because I have vista, since this computer is brand new with 50 bagillion times more ram and memory than my other computer, and I have a super fast connection.
If it is just because I have Vista, I'm going to Bill Gates house right now and punching him in the face.
A girl in collage went to the US as an exchange student, and she bought a laptop with 2 GB of RAM, dual core, and with Windows Vista Premium for 700 dollars there.
I cried.

It's weird, though, that for once when Turkey puts up something half-decent instead of crappy disco as usual, they're instantly two or three places lower than normal. It's like Europe is voting specifically for crappy songs. I honestly don't know who votes for all these songs.
Don't forget Armenia. The only reason Armenia got so many votes from Belgium, France and the Netherlands was because there was a very active Armenian diaspora voting for their country of origin. It's very fitting that we're discussing this in the Politics forum because that's what's dominating the Eurovision voting process these days: politics. And now it even determined the winner :(
I can't admit that politics also dominated the voting process in the past two years because I voted for Finland two years ago and for Serbia last year, but at least I can say that this time the geopolitical voting has reached a new zenith.

gotta go to work at 8am tomorrow.
I'll see you all in hell. Especially russians, who are late, and make separate reservations for canoes and all call and show up at the EXACT SAME FUCKING TIME.

If you like libertarian non-fiction, look at Heinlein's fiction.
Specifically The Moon is a Harsh Mistress and To Sail Beyond the Sunset.
Even Starship Troopers but thats not libertarian really, just good ethics.

It wasn't a wonderful song, it was an alright song, which I enjoyed ( and it was second up, I wasn't drunk when it was on so I can't blame alcohol for liking it), and it did not desevre to be joint last. Especially as that stupid Bosnia Herzenbebblebobovnia ( yeah I can't spell it ) song with the freaky guy and women dressed up as dolls came like...10th I think.
I suppose immigrants might explain it, in which case I propose we let the US enter! That way all the Irish imigrants will vote for Ireland! Also the US, as a whole, likes the UK, so then we might actually get some voted.
Seriously, we might as well, we let Israel in despite being in the freaking middle east so there's no reason

I agree with everything you said except for the fact that you were still sober when the contest started, which I find ethically questionable :) But yeah, the UK's song was okay and a 10th-15th place of so would have been justified. Songs that are 'alright' tend to do poorly though, you need to make somewhat of an impression like Sweden and Israel did this year or have a lot of neighbouring countries like Bosnia which I agree was excruciatingly terrible. I thought the Dutch entry was also better than absolutely awful but it didn't qualify for the finals, like no Dutch entry has for four years now.

I think the UK would get a lot of points from India and Pakistan, they aren't going to vote for each other and they seem to like their British heritage so that's two twelvers for you right there.

Well, fuck.
My father and I were (was??) having dinner with some family friends last night, and, on the way back, hit a deer with the car we've only been driving for a month.
Driver's side door can't be opened all the way because the front edge of the door runs into the front fender which has been dented in and back towards it. Dents all along the side of the car from just behind the headlight housing to the back fender. Luckily the deer missed the headlight, because those have to be replaced as an entire unit if damaged, which is expensive.
Deer had all it's legs broken and needed to be shot (someone from a nearby farm came out and took care of it). I'm just sorry that it needed to suffer like that.
But, all told; it's only a deer and it's only a car.
Could someone explain the proper verb that should be used in the second line? "My father WAS..." and "I WAS..." makes sense, but then when you put the two together, "My father and I was...", it sounds awkward.

Oh god...
Memorial day weekend... so crazy.
Someone was OD'ing, and I had to keep him awake. Kept taking off his clothes, making sexual advances to anyone and everyone. He kept kissing my neck, and I was so grossed out (although, he was cute.) And so, to keep his clothes on and him not on my neck... I had to hug him and I sang a lullaby, one that my mama sang to me as a baby.
It was the only thing I could think of doing. His heart was racing like crazy.
He said that someone gave him something, so we think it may have been the date rape drug.
What happened to him before I found him? I dunno. But, from the way he was acting, I'm pretty sure he wouldn't know. It was all pathos from thereon...

I took a $30 defensive driving course last week. 2 nights, 3 hours each night. Just lecture and videos. Easiest 10% savings ever. I can't believe more people don't go to these things.
Also. Russians still suck. But Asians are now #1 annoying.
13 of them showed up WITHOUT any type of reservation and wanted to do a canoe trip.

Fucking hell that was a cluster fuck.

I was told that you need Strop Dressing. He uses -Fromm Strop Dressing- for his belt & it is only available from a supply store that sells equipment to professional salons & Barbers.
Found some here. I've been looking into getting strop paste here recently, but I've never been sure just WHAT to buy specifically, but now that I have a specific instruction and product endorsement on something, I'll see if I can't go about getting my hands on this stuff.
Thanks. :-)

Guess what's his name?
Ben.
Nobody wouldn't let him live it out well after high school... until he finally left San Jose in 2003 to be something...
