I really don't see what all the scandel is over an Annie Leobowitz Vanity Faire picture. You see more in a strapless dress than you do in that picture and at the risk of sounding old teenage girls wear shit that's a lot worse than a strapless dress. I know this sounds like a rant but really, get your heads in the game people

I found out today that, without corrective lenses, I can't even read the big "E" on top of the eye chart. That's WORSE than 20/200. Not even CLOSE.

I have an astigmatism in my eyes, but it's not too bad. with corrective lenses I see better than 20/20, without them I'm a wee bit nearsighted.
contacts get me better than 20/20 but not as good as my glasses, but that's with non-specialized contacts

Seriously... am I like the only person in my generation to be born with better than 20/20 vision?
Also: saw Apocalyptica at the Crofoot Ballroom in Pontiac tonight. Was fucking amazing! Their concert vids don't really give you the full floor-shaking experience. When you feel that low C through your heels and as your wallet bounces against your ass... well, then you know you're having a metal experience.
My only regret was with the brevity of the show (barely more than an hour... probably due to the fact that Perttu had broken his index bowfinger earlier in the day... but played anyway), and the size of the crowd ( not large, maybe 100-150 people). But my god did they make that building roar.
Highly recommended if you're into rock and they're making a stop near you.
Tis better to sit in silence and be presumed a fool, than to speak and remove all doubt.

I wasn't to impressed, to be honest with you. She's cute, but I was expecting a choir of angels to start singing when it popped up on my computer, the way people had been talking about it.
So, what did you guys do last night? I just sat at home, took some percocet and caught wrestling last night. All in all it was a pretty good night.
I played "City of Heroes" last night until time for bed. I'm really getting into this game now.
My character is what's called a "Natural Scrapper," which is basically a nice way of saying he wasn't made a hero he just decided to up and become one, and specializes in hand-to-hand combat. There's was an option to give him some kind of super-power in the beginning, so I went for regeneration... basically, I'm playing Wolverine sans adamantium claws.

I tend to piss people off when I tell them what my vision is. 20/15... I see shit that 20 feet a person with perfect vision would have to take 5 steps forward to see, or in other words, far sighted.
I'm known for wearing glasses all the time, but I really only need them for reading and driving.

I have no idea of this fractions you're talking about.
I don't use glasses, I thought I would need them earlier this year, because as I started reading a lot for college, my head hurt. But it was a mere viral episode.
My dad used to have myopia, I think, but he got eye surgery (with a diamond thingy, not laser) and now he's cured! Hurray!

Get bloody irritated at the news reporting about GTA IV corrupting young minds (see the link in the GTA topic I created), played a bit of Persona 3, started drafting a blog, visited my Greek empire on Rome: Total War, and watched the bonus material on my ROH: Driven DVD. Oh, and slept.

I've heard a bunch of those names before but the only guy who I've really seen in action is Dylan Moran. Black Books was a peice of brillience.

I have to start the list with king, George Carlin
I like Demitri Marton but I wonder how his cd's do because a bunch of his act is visual.

Nick Sawrdson
Ron White
Mitch Hedburg
Robin Williams
Chris Rock
Dave Attel
Dane Cook. Yeah, I listen to Nickelback too. pour it on
That's just what I can get off the top of my head, which isn't all it could be because I gave blood today.
Funny story in that actually. The donation spot in my town was at a church. On the way out the door stuck so I had to really dig in to push it open. That plus a slippery doormat lead to loss of footing and landing right down on my knee, which I'm sure you all know causes certain reactions. Am I going to hell for swearing in a church?

When people talk about their vision prescription, it basically breaks down as follows;
The first number is what YOU see at 20 feet on an optometrist's board (the thing with all the numbers that gets consistently smaller line by line), and the second number is to compare against what someone with perfect vision sees at 20 feet on an optometrist's board. If you have 20/20 vision, you have perfect eyesight. If you're like me and have 20/15, you have better vision than the perfect individual they are comparing you to (as you can see at 20 feet what the guy with perfect vision would have to take 5 steps forward to see), but the downside is that it makes it difficult to focus on things that are close to you, thus they call it "farsighted."
Fli has 52/16 vision... which means he is EXTREMELY farsighted to the point that it is a bit detrimental, if I have it figured correctly.
------
Have your coworkers ever made you step back and go, "wtf?" I called into work today on my day off because we have people from corporate coming in today and they wanted to have extra people in the store for an added presence and to help out with freight. I find out an hour and a half after being there that the proper channels were not followed and my department manager had no IDEA that I had been called in today (in fact, nobody did), much less did he want me there because I was going to have to duck out early tomorrow to keep under 40 hours. Turns out, a Customer Service Manager went over his head.
So I went in for two hours today, sick as dog because of something I ate last night, not wanted or needed.
And now I'm sitting here thinking... what would Jesus do?
