Smug and dull? Are you sure you're not confusing it with Star Trek?

That movie was so bad that the crowd booed it at the Phoenix sneak preview.

I hate my car at the moment. The bearing wheel on the long since dead air conditioner compressor decided that yesterday was the perfect day to go and freeze up, causing friction to build up against the serpentine belt. So my dad called his mobile mechanic friend to come out and work on it, but the way it's sounding, the repair itself is going to be prohibitively expensive, because they are going to have to replace the aforementioned air compressor and get the air conditioner system back in working order... which is prohibitively expensive and will require me to be in debt up to my eyeballs with my folks for the foreseeable future.

What really irks me is that the air compressor in question went out long before the car ever came into my possession, back when it was still my parent's car, and I'm the one being stuck with repair bill. Lovely, there goes my tax refund check.... and then some.

Gatorade.

I personally don't get hangovers, and if I'm anything like my father I never will. But I do try to keep hydrated when I drink, if only because it makes me less tired the next day. And my hard-drinking friends who do suffer from hangovers have sworn by Gatorade and other sports drinks.

It has electrolytes. What plants crave!

As I am neither vegetable, nor does my skin contain cholorphyl, I think I'll pass on the gatorade and the electrolytesm, espeically as I hate the stuff, tastes horrid to me,

Generally I don't get hang voers, just occasionally, but when I do they suck. Normally I just pop a few painkillers, drink about a litre of water before I go do whatever I need to do, and if I have time, cook myself a full English Breakfast.

Works wonders for me.

I've never found the "pleasure" of the slosh to be worth the pain of hangovers. COmbined with the general yuck of the taste of alcohol, I've pretty much just given up on it.

Tis better to sit in silence and be presumed a fool than to speak and remove all doubt.

Most alcohol is bad yes. Some's quite nice. But yeah, I don't normally drink tog et drunk, oly ever done that twice, regretted it both times, blacked out both times. Just a social thing and occasionally I just have a bit too much without realising it.

Do it--

So that we can be connected right now in some way...

Right now, it has totally disappeared.
I had to sneak outside with this laptop because my mother is DEATHLY afraid of eclipses... She will kill me if she knew I'm outside looking at one.

Last lunar eclipse, I was with my husband and we had to sneak out (because my mother won't let anyone in the family go out when the eclipse is out...)

She set in her ways...
Everyone has their 'plexes...
My grandmother is deathly afraid of fog... she believes pestilance and evil spirits can be carried in them, so she will never go in one without covering who whole body up.

And I shouldn't criticize her because actors are even more superstituos than most people...

One time, I made this bastard run around the theater 3 times... spit over his shoulder... and jump on one leg... and beg to re-enter. Actually...it was me and a bunch of other guys who threatened him. (The 4 of us well above 200 pounds... one of which, probably, 310 pounds.)

All because he said that Scottish play just before a performance. (It's, perhaps, the worst of luck...)

He did it on purpose because he had a hissy fit...

And, some may not know, but I always bring some kind of alcholic beverage (either gin or tequila) for the ghost(s) of the theater, and for St. Cecelia (Saint of musicians) and St. Genesius (saint of actors...) Although... inevitably-- my closest friends and I open the bottle for a shot or two.

So, I'm one of those people who will say, "Hey," when I enter the theater. Although, if I know a ghost's name... I will greet that ghost by name. (Such as George at Independence High School's theater...)
