whenever they come to the pool they're running from one side to the other and jumping in the deep end before the people supervising can stop them yet if any normal child would do that they would have fallen half a dozen times, run into other children and then started drowning.

I can't say why they don't fall, but it has been proven that autistic kids have a higher tolerance for pain. When I was a kid, the other kids would be running back to mommy after falling off the slide and I'd still be playing with skinned knees, so I guess it's true. Mom would have to get me to stop playing so she could use Neosporin or something.

It might not be a matter of pain tolerance so much as alternative interpretations of the situation. No boo boo in the world hurt as much as little kid makes it out to (with the possible exception of getting your ears ripped off, that seems excruciating) the response of running home to mommy is probably more environmentally conditioned than an actual response to pain. Since autistic children interact with their environments in a different way than other children they may not have received the conditioning.

Differing perceptions of their environments may also explain why they don't fall and run into people. You can pretty much surmise that non-autistic children aren't very good at running around the pool simply because paying attention to what they are doing is probably the last thing on their minds in an environment as stimulating as a public whereas an autistic child may not even perceive the distracting stimulants. Then there's always the possibilities of differing motivations and planning.

Why not?

C'mon ... offensive, well sure it can be called that to a certain degree. But not everything here is.
But tasteless ! it has many different 'tastes' as it were. Not all may be ahhhhh,,,,,, in the best of taste mind you, but it certainly isn't tasteless.

Tell me about it - the library (where I usually get online as it's, y'know, free) has NG blocked off...but porn sites are easily accessible.

I would imagine that the library would be a rather awkward place for one to watch porn.

Possibly. I always used to think his stage outfits and weird presence as front man for Tool was just some kind of weird modern art performance, but now I'm not so sure.

When he finally showed all I could think was "The dude from linken park has a little brother?"

I shouldn't be laughing, I really shouldn't...

A bit aggravated. I went to Wal-Mart today to get a few things and they had Saw 4 on DVD for $20, but I'm having to watch my spending this week because my check sucked, so I couldn't get it. Granted, I already know what happens from reading plot summary's online, but I still want to see the movie.

Never Back Down was the most steriotypical white guy martial arts action sports flick ever. Of course that's exactly what I went there for.
If you're in that mood I reccomend it. Plus the bad guy looks like the dude from Pete and Pete, the older Pete. So if you ever wanted to see him get his ass kicked that's a bonus.

Well, he has a brain, and he studied for a whole year before sitting for the exam.
What do you say about paying?? HELLO you go to a PRIVATE University. Not only it is shitty, but you basically BUY your degree.
Eg, if you pay, you get a "summer course", that gives you a chance to pass every subject.
