Kudos if you keep one, but-- I ain't gonna come close to that thing.

Well you know what the old saying is.
"Charity begins at home." , From what I've been reading, her charity works are more in her mind than they are supporting anyone.
I heard that part of her interview. And she sounded like an absolute bitch being charitable with Pauls money. The nature of these laws is to provide money for her and for the kid. To ask for this amount and claim that you need money before you can give it away, no. She was never poor to begin with.

This is sad since now the "Big 3" from the golden age are all dead.
But I never could read clarke, I found him too slow and he was never able to hold my attention.
But still very sad.

If all of you were to imagine the Lounge as a tangible place which we are all in, what would it be like?
I see it as the Lounge of a very up-class hotel, with big, comfortable armchairs, some near a fireplace, and others carefully scattered around the room. Each chair has it's own little table with an ashtray, coaster, and reading lamp. You know, those older style lamps with the green glass shades? Yeah. Of course, we are all "Regulars" of the hotel (Poli is various conference rooms for discussions and presentations), though our room is not very large. Still comfortable though.
Oh, and Stafff and More are always across the lobby actually AT the bar, as opposed to the rest of us who make use of staff for our drink needs.

No homework today; I am overjoyed. =)

Bowling this weekend, maybe.

Wait a minute... What about Imperator & FUNKbrs , I believe they would be in the Bar as well.
THey might not spend all their time there, but I believe the title of 'regulars' would probably still apply.
As I take a drink of my very dry Martini .

I guess so.
Me too , obviously.
But in my defense, there is an ice storm suppose to hit tomorrow & the show I was suppose to rig several lighting towers outside for the night scenes are cancelled til next week, because of this storm & the fact the Production is shutting down over Easter.
So I'm off until another job I can go to on Saturday.
The girlfriend is working, I've got nothing to do but hang around the house , play on the net, watch movies & have a couple drinks.
If that somehow gets me the "alcoholic" tag, I've got big shoulders & I can live with that.
At Least I'm Not Out Driving Around !

Indeed good sirs. Let's drink until we want to to watch eurotrip again and then keep drinking during eurotrip so that we're nearly delirious for the train scenes.
I don't know why but that's my drinking movie. mayhaps a thread in general to explore this subect in others.

Hi Seven, hope your healing & will be back to normal, or at least better soon.
I've had 2 Martini's earlier & now I'm getting ready to sign off the net & go pop a movie in & set back & wait for my sweety to get home from work.
I might have a beer later... as a supposed hardcore drinker I'm really sucking at it today.
But I have some personal things i want to take care of tomorrow morning ,& with being off work til Saturday ; I feel I'm entitled to have a few if I feel like it.
Yes , I suppose I am an alcoholic, I enjoy a drink & have several different types that I like to endulge in, but I'm a functioning alcoholic & I have never let it get between work or anything else important YET!!!!

My personal experience suggests that yes, it is. Though only if you do it frequently and to excess. A small amount every now and again on your own isn't a harmful.
As for the people who are at the Bar in the Lounge, I'm probably up there, though not drinking anything but Tea. Seriously, my alcohol intake has been replaced by tea. I think I've managed to go T-total without making an active decision on it. It's sort of just happened.

Yeah Malachy, it probably is.
I've also been told (when I tried the marriage councillor B.S. before my divorce) that if you work a regular job & get off every friday & go meet with friends & drink socially that is also a form of alcoholism.
If you socialize & drink at regular intervals & don't drink alcohol at other times this is also a form of alcoholism.
There are way more 'theories' by supposed professionals out there...including my favorite'if you have one drink each night every day your an alcoholic'! ! !
But seeing as everyone is different, I go more on what I feel like doing.
I also feel that if alcohol affects your ability to go to work etc. then you've probably got a problem.
Last night 2 , 2oz Martimi's & later I had 2 pints of beer watching movies & waiting for *gasp* my Bartender Girlfriend to get in at about 1:45 am . I also had a couple of glasses of water last night as well . I wonder what that means in the alcoholic sceme of things?
Was I wanting more raw alcohol (ie the Martini's) or was it that I was just thirsty, the wood stove was burning & it was in the high 70's heat wise in the living room.
I'm back from some errands , & I plan to go to the city do some shopping, pick up some more beer (I've only got 3 pints left) & I'm making meat pie's for supper. (one with a top crust , the other with a potatoe/carrot/turnip smash for a top cover.
I know, I will probably have a beer or two doing it, Damn it man, my alcoholism is out of control !
L O L , should alcoholism be judged by drinking, or maybe should it be judged by whether your priorities are drinking, being more important than the other things in your life?

Frankly the thing that upsets me the most is that she was asking for a percentage of his total worth. Which means the money he inherited when Linda died was factored in. And Linda McCartney was independently worth millions before she and Paul got married.

I've been experimenting with different blends of the bag tea we have on hand (I only drink loose hot), trying to find the one that makes the best iced tea. I've found that a bag of black chai, a bag of Earl Grey, and two bags of Jasmine is quite delicious and refreshing, but not strong. Today I found Twinings' Vanilla Black Tea at the grocery store, so I bought a box and plan to try it out as an iced tea. I make my iced tea extremely sweet, and hopefully it will be nummy. Maybe at some point I'll do a half vanilla half chai mix. Mmmm chai.
