In the 'New 10 commandments ' topic I managed to get it down to 1 much easier to remember & live by that still makes sense & I think covers it quite well. (thanks to George Carlin's inspiration on the originals)
On a different note but just as important.
The Ozzy show last night wasn't bad. He managed to stay upright & do the whole show.
He is showing that years of hard living, sure take a toll. The crew say that Sharon is on tour with him to keep him out of trouble... & keep him from killing himself partying.
The World tour that started in 2007 is just wrapping up , The crew to tear down the show are given different colored T Shirts so traveling crew can tell who are working with them.
On the Stones show in 2006, one of my friends sold his working crew shirt for $75.00 American on E-Bay, & he didn't have a back stage pass, I didn't wear mine , as a rigger it pretty easy to tell what were there for. No one else wears climbing harness's & carries coils of rope on their shoulders while waiting for the stage to clear so we can drop the points.
I wonder what my Shirt with pass might go for ?
This is a shot of the back, the front says Ozzy local crew on the upper left side.
Those who have only the religious opinions of others in their head & worship them. Have no room for their own thoughts & no room to contemplate anyone elses ideas either-More

This isn't politics... but, rather than make a post about it and then watch it become a stupid Atheist vs Religious flame war... I thought it would be better to post here.
So, a while back I wrote a Jesus and Judas script and on the suggestion of a user-- I'm going to drop one scene and re-write it. And as I was thinking, I was thinking... How did Jesus change as a person?
That made me think for a while, and I saw that what was the whole point of his willingness to accept his fate if Christianity believes that the body is just a vessel to hold the spirit.
Meaning, his crucifixion and sacrifice of his physical body weren't the real sacrifice because he was just discarding a body. Not to sound like an a-hole... but, it's meaningless in that respect.
Then I thought, his sacrifice was his soul (since that's the soul is much more important in the Christian doctrine.)
So the question is this, for the sake of short script:
How did Jesus sacrifice his soul, and for what?

Yeah, I'd say the holocaust was a pretty clear disagreement.

On the subject of the holocaust: my uni had a holocaust survivor come in and give a talk about his experiences. I was expecting the normal pics from the concentration camps etc with a few personal details thrown in...what i got was not that.
He was actually joking about his experiences in the camps. Cracking jokes about some of the guards and the like. His story about how he once got given salami for dinner was particularly amusing.
But yeah, the guys got a book out apparently. Called Living with the enemy if my memory serves me correctly. gonna have to pick up a copy if I can.

Well my understanding has been that the soul is what ascended into heaven so it's possible that his sacrifice could be mortal expereince, food and love and such. I think that's why the popular imagination of heaven is basically just a really cool place to hang out, because these are the things people know as joy and wish to extend the expereinces into the afterlife.
To summerize this there's always the floating island of mandango

The thing about Heaven is this; being in the presence of God is it's own reward. Reuniting with deceased loved ones is a perk, but absolutely nothing can compare to standing in the presence of God Almighty. So making a sacrifice of mortal experiences is kind of... pointless.
The way it was explained to me was simply this; at that point in time, the required atonement for sin under the law was a sacrificial offering in the temple once a year. Jesus submitted himself as that sacrifice to God so that people would no longer have to go through such an ordeal.

So in the season finalle of Torchwood when Captian Jack offered his immortal life to the life eater so he'd stop eating the mortals, and then rose again anyway, he was ripping off Jesus

Uberbarista knew what it was, but he's from down south too.
Maybe it's because I'm from the Capital of the Confederacy, or maybe it's because we like to find special occasions to drink, but where I come from we celebrate Mardi Gras and Cinco de Mayo.

28 issues of " Sports Illustrated ", I'm going for this one mostly because I started late and most of the prize below 350 points sucked.

Every year Rob tells me how sick he is of Mardi Gras. The one year he was particularly eloquent about having seen each float, caught each bead, and a bunch of other stuff I can't remember but still made me ROFL. He offered to take me to one of the parades if I come down there at the right time, but being the sociophobe I am, I'd rather watch from far away.

Last night after I signed off, we had a severe thunderstorm with 80 mile an hour straight line winds. I think I was off for all of 20 minutes when our power went off. It finally came back on about two and half hours later when I blew out my candle and was about to go to bed...
