Yeah, I was the one that got to hang out with them all the time. I got my sense of humor from those potheads.
we have a public racing course where we can bring the kids. they love it.
Damn right I'm a good skier! I was hitting up the double-blacks at age 10 (with my parents of course).

Are you suggesting I somehow affix cake to my helmet? Or maybe one of those braces guitar players use for harmonicas only I'm a skier eating cake?

Hey what ever floats your boat, but I'm sure what ever you decide upon will make you undoubtedly the coolest skier ever.

we don't have too many pot heads anymore. And the ones who are don't get high at work. Used to be different. I've been working at the snowsports school for 8 seasons now. Lots has changed. I never took a lesson myself. My dad taught me. At 13 I started volunteering at the kids area and quickly realized my dad was dead wrong. Well, technically he taught me correctly for the equipment I was using (an old pair of straight rossies) but it was the age of shaped skis (my first pair of shaped skis, a pair of Atomic Pro Carvs circa 1999).

lol, double black diamonds you say? Man I love how other mountains rate trails.
We have people come up from Virginia, downstate, PA, and Jersey who say "I ski black diamonds at home" and show up, get at the top of the gondola and wind up going down in a ski patrol sled.
I don't know where they get the rating system...but it's apparent that it's not a standardized system and that my mountain isn't exactly on par with pretty much anything downstate or in the south. Our intermediates (blue squares) are on par with some mountains' double black diamonds. and vice versa elsewhere. Intermediates which look like our black diamonds or green circles. you never know.
I love how at Gore (the other ORDA run mountain) they have these double black diamond trails that are like 100 yards long and don't really have too hard of a pitch, whereas we have black diamonds which are at a higher pitch and a quarter mile long.
We only have 2 double blacks on the mountain. the rock slides which are only open maybe once every 2 seasons and a set of glades at the top of the smaller mountain.
My favorite mountain to ski is Jay Peak in Vermont. They are totally all open, you can go out of bounds and off trails at any time and find pristine glades. You can hike to the top of the mountain and ski down the rock face without any fuss from staff. Hell I once traded some cookies for a burger at the cafeteria. Awesome place. Whiteface is totally uptight and unchill.
In non skiin related news, my fiancee and I are in Albany so that she can take her national massage exam tomorrow. we're staying at the most awesome hotel room EVER. it's got a huge bedroom and a huge living room and a fucking whirlpool tub in the bedroom. HOT.
Also, we went to cheesecake factory tonight and had a mad expensive dinner. We had a $25 gift card and I still wound up putting $43 onto my card

Two days of exams now.
Blegh.
And the school changed how we are doing it this year. All the last years, exams were over 3 days, with 2 classes having 1:30 min. for exam-taking. We would do those two classes for the day, and then go home; half-day.
NOW, it is over two days, with THREE exams each day, with only the regular class time (one hour) to do it! AAAAND we still have the last three hours as regular classes. >=|
Completely retarded.
Wish me luck!

ZOMG so much snow...
The cat insisted on going out and examining it. I didn't have time to let him pee in it, which is his favorite thing. At least the new apartment is in a neighborhood where most of the streets get plowed, at my grandmother's house it would have been a nightmare trying to get to work.
But I'm here, and it's warm and full of comic books, so life is good.
He followed me home, can I keep him?

Awwww, but they made lunch on the mountain lodge fun!

Snowbird has fairly tough double-blacks... As does Alta. Both are near Salt Lake City, where I was born and raised.

Here too. We got like 4 inches and they wouldn't cancel the rest of the day after the exam half. EVERY OTHER SCHOOL IN THE AREA BUT US GOT TO LEAVE AFTER HALF A DAY OR LESS. Fuckin' assholes. ¬¬
Exams were bullshit, and we almost died several times on the bus ride home.
Maybe they will cancel school tomorrow.

That's nothing compare to the Yankees forum board, there's no mod around to clean up the mess.

Unfortunately, it seems as though it's just much easier to post like a philistine than to actually develop valid opinions. That goes for any Internet forum.
I don't understand how some fora manage to do it. It's gotten to the point where I WOULD make a half-decent topic, but why should I even bother trying with a crowd of active poli users like this? The only reasonable people, the regs, all hide in here - and for good reason. If this topic didn't exist, I wouldn't post on NG at all. I'm starting to doubt my belief that the forum isn't collapsing under the gravity of its own stupidity. RANT RANT RANT.
Also, sleep sounds like a good idea for me sometime soon. Mmmmm.
So I'm basically awesome.
Original NG chat lives and thrives here.

It's a good thing that I don't live anywhere near a cheesecake factory.
for one thing, I can't afford it too often, and another....their portions are totally for Americans.
I have like 4 meals from 2 evenings at the place as leftovers!
oh, and did I mention my hotel room is fucking amazing?
It's fucking amazing.

Yeah sure, just swing by my clinic when I get it up.
It's right on the corner of Noway Street and 2000 Buck Street. In San Diego.

La Qinta Inn and Suites (in their most expensive and totally awesome suite) in Albany.
My fiancee took her national massage certification exam today (and passed). We made a little getaway for it.
I do, however, need to get up early tomorrow morning because I have to teach a private lesson at 9:00am, but we got into the room and immediately wanted to stay an extra night when we got in yesterday.

I need to be up real early tomorrow, but I'm freaking out too much to sleep. There's a potential I may end up a high school librarian, temporary or otherwise. That is, if they even take me.

Would this be a good or a bad thing?
Also, what's with the influx of idiocy lately? Lots of new names being retarded on here... or is this just the next cycle of n00bs and I'm just getting old?
Tis better to sit in silence and be presumed a fool, than to speak and remove all doubt.
