I don't think the rats care that the hammocks and tunnels and yogurt drops are for Christmas, nor do I expect Charlie to realize his catnip is a special holiday thing. But it's fun for the owners, and I think as long as you don't anthropomorphize your pets too much (like those ladies with the purse dogs) there's no harm in buying them a present.

we did our christmas shopping today and Petco in our area is closing its store, so everything is being sold off cheap. we got a bunch of cat food, and a lot of toys for the cat. he found the bag immediately and I just spent five minutes picking still packaged toys out from under the bed, under the kitchen table and ine closet...fucker moves fast. we also got Io a new hide hole because she's a wee bit too big for her old one. we can pretty much set up her old cage again with her old stuff..I may just take the smaller branches out because I don't think she has enough room to chillax in the room between the branches and her waterbowl which is on the other side of her cage.

As I said, we did some christmas shopping and my dad met us at Lowes, bought us a fake christmas tree (whcih my fiancee is currently decorating...the one on display had white lites (my dad got that one) and the last one in a box is the one we got but it has colored lights...she doesn't seem happy about this for some reason) We went to Micheal's and got ornaments and then we went shopping with my dad and brother and my dad bought his own christmas gift from us (a 6 pack of beer glasses) and went to Sam's club where he got us a few grocery items (have I mentioned the man borrowed my fiancee's car the other day and got brand new snow tires put on it?).

then we did our own christmas shopping at the mall. Fuck it's been a long day, and I got up at 1. We also did laundry some time in there. I have to go to work tomorrow and get up at 7am and it's already midnight.

For those who don't know, which would be all of you, I have applied to join the RCMP. I have to get laser eye surgrey thought to be accepted (you need a certain uncorrected vision requirement). This is going to be fun! I have done the written test and moved onto the next phase, the paperwork and fitness tests. Soon I will hopefully find out about getting an interview.

I have to get and maintain Top Secret Security Clearance as aprt of my employment and even do a poly-graph.

I was just reading about their need to hire a shit load more officers.
They need them to
1) Replace the 8 that were killed on the job this year.
2) Looks like Mounties are going to now go into violent situations with back up. ( as soon as they can find some willing participants ) ;) that would be folks like you.

Well I hope you like Northern Canada, & have some experience with Native Canadians (cause that's where they'll send you.)
But , my cousin is a mountie & his only complaint is that he would like to be posted back in Cape Breton (that's where most of our clan is)It isn't going to happen anytime soon according to him. He did his first 2 tours up in northern Ontario, Now he's in New Brunswick up near the Gaspe.
Good luck though Jos, the police may often be a pain in the ass with their love of the ticket book... but can anyone imagine where we would be if we didn't have police on the job !

Der-Lowe,
I would need a green card, otherwise I could be deported... Hey, maybe they would deport me to Mexico ;-)
Plus do you have any Idea how much B.S. one has to go through to take their kids to live in another country , thereby taking the other spouses ability to have child visits away .
Not to mention my ex-Mother-in-law would freak. (is that what she is called now?)
My Mother-in-law (or EX) was/is a wonderful human being, I wouldn't deliberately hurt her for the world.

Actually that score didn't mean squat in the end. Since the test measured completely inane and useless information, it's basically an overhyped memory exam or whatever. It worked just fine in getting me all pumped up and thinking I was hot shit, only to realize once in college that my ass was easily kicked by kids who either scored 60 points lower than me or didn't even give the test at all.

The Engineering School's exam was all Mathematics, and the Informatics one was Math and Basic Programming, and basic computer knowledge.

The School of Economics has no admission exam, or pre-course, you just start, but two months earlier (February instead of April), and the trick is that the first three subjects (Accountancy I, Administration I, and Introduction to Economics and the Argentinian Economic structure) are needed to do the following subjects in the second part of the year (August- November), so if you fail them, you're screwed.
The good thing is that you can avoid the final exam if your grade is 7 or higher ^_^
