You would be hard pressed to find someone who wouldn't. I'd personally like to see what a guitar like that would actually bring at auction, though... there was an auction in Nashville several years ago where a private collecter was selling off a bunch of his rare instruments, among them was an original Gibson Flying V electric guitar from the first batch that Gibson ever made back in 1958 (when it was viewed as being to futuristic and dropped from the company's lineup until 1967).

When it came up on the block, I think it finally sold for $50,000, easy.

Now imagine what something like that Martin would bring.

Specially if i compare it to my guitar.

What kind do you have?

Don't get me wrong, the argentinian made guitar are really good, with outstanding luthiers... but mine looks like the black box of a crashed airplane.

... day-glow orange and beaten all to hell?

I wouldn't.

Well, I wouldn't mind owning it, but it wouldn't get played. I also can't bring myself to wear expensive jewelry, for much the same reason. When you use/wear expensive things, they run the risk of being damaged. And I could never forgive myself for damaging a piece of art like a classic Martin.

We saw a guy in downtown Franklin, Tennessee (where I went for Thanksgiving) playing a genuine early-1900s harp guitar. It was amazing.

He followed me home, can I keep him?

A "criolla" guitar, Rémulo Garcia... I think it's the fake brand of Yamaha in Argentina

where are you, Prince Edward island?

;
P.E.I. is to the west of Nova Scotia. We are the funny shaped rock that sticks out into the Atlantic Ocean just South of Newfoundland. Nova Scotia is composed of a large island in the north of the Province called Cape Breton Island & the 'Mainland' is connected to North America by the isthmus of Chignecto. At its narrowist it is 24 Km wide, so Nova Scotia is almost 2 large islands & thousands of little ones.

fuck man, well, I'm in the mountains and it gets dark a half hour earlier than it would without them blocking out the sun. 4:15pm and it's getting pretty dark.

;
According to the sun tracking , the Sun sets here Nov. 27 at 4:30 p.m. Atlantic time. The 45 degree latitude line is less than 4 Kms from my home.

LOL
No, people in Nova Scotia are not Newfie's.
Newfie's are not rednecks, traditionally they have been fishermen, sailers & oddly enough there is a large group of Newfoundlanders who are high steel workers. I read somewhere that certain tribe of Native Americans & the Newfies are responsible for New Yorks sky line. (& a lot of other cities as well)

They made an underrated kevin spacey movie about it. As I recall they were so imbred because one guy got all the tail on the island.

I don't remember that from the book. I do remember that even in the inbred town, the main character's family was known and shunned for their inbreeding and insanity.

My MacPro can interchange both languages in an instant.
Because my dad prefers the Spanish keyboard over the English.

And Mexican isn't a language... unless-- you're talking about one of the languages of the Nahuatl dialects.

Meh--
"Mexican" is the default race for Latinos, I guess...

Sort of like when people say, "Two guys walk in a bar..." And people think of two White guys... But when you need to say "Black"... you HAVE to say "Black." (Just look at my favorite comic, Secret Asian Man to understand what I mean...)

My neighborhood is full of Vietnamese, and a Japanese family. What does my father calls them?

los chinos...

Yet, there's are no Chinese in the neighborhood.
It's like the Chinese the the "default race" for Asians...
When we want to eat pho bo soup, what does my mom say? "Vamos a comer a los caldos de chino..."

Yet, the restaurant we go to is part of a business district now called "Saigon."

Same thing here. In my neighbourhood (Top secret, btw) there are a lot of supermarkets run by orientals. How are they called? Los Chinos. "Hey, man. Let's go to Los Chinos and buy a six pack of Coca-Cola". Perhaps they're mongolian, or korean, but we call them los chinos.
