mom wants to be a bitch about it all for some unknown reason. my dad doesn't want to be divorced, he wont sign the papers...it's all very silly.

oh well, that's what happens in those situations. I was hoping somebody might actually ask about the skiing things I talked about.

Um, yeah. We have to start going in for this shit at 18 (or when we become sexually active, whichever comes first), and go for THE REST OF OUR LIVES. Plus mammograms after 40. Plus colonoscopies (which, admittedly, men should have too) after 50. Plus boob saggage. We win.

or lose, really...

I have never been skiing or snowboarding, and I am cripplingly awkward. I want to go someday, though I'm fairly sure I'll come home in a cast.

Been tinkering with my clarinet more and more this year. It's fun to get back into it and regain some of that lost skill. It's not fun to realize you went from DSO caliber to 2nd chair high school pep band caliber.....

I was like that with guitar - tried to pick it back up when I gave my boyfriend's son my electric, since it gave me some common ground with the kid and it was early on before we'd established a rapport. He's since kind of given up on guitar, guess he thought it would be easier, and I just tool around on it once in a while. It's like the muscle-memory is still there, but the muscles themselves have gotten out of shape. And I simply cannot remember a lot of the songs I knew.

Which sucks, because I wasn't Eddie van Halen or anything, but I was decently good. I played damned fine blues guitar, especially rhythm (I'm not confident enough to play lead, I think), and I knew a lot of classic rock songs, since my teacher was stuck in the mid-70s.

Now I just use my skills in Co-op Career on bass in Guitar Hero III. My blue fret skills are wicked.

not.

I'm trying to get back into guitar playing after leaving it alone for a few months. I really haven't lost that much in the way of knowledge of chords or scales, but certain songs aren't coming to me near as easily as they used to.

What I really want to get into is classical guitar and jazz, though. Rock and the like is fun to play, but not really that rewarding in my mind. I'd settle for being able to play like Adam Jones from Tool if I couldn't be a classical guitarist, though. >:-D~

I've taught some people who've never even thought of exorcise in their lives (and it showed).

I've had some successes and some disappointments...well, not really disappointing because there wasn't really any expectations, but it's till frustrating

I've gotten some kids who were half my age and twice my weight to learn skiing and snowboarding...Really it's an attitude thing. You go in with a mind to learn, and you'll learn. You show up not willing to just do shit, you wont do shit, and you wont learn.

I am eating chips. apparently you can buy awesome food online.

found this website, ohmahasteaks.com, and a few of our friends and family have been raving about it.

my fiancee decided to buy $230 worth of food from them (which is like two months of food, i swear to god). the order was so big it made little bells go off and they called making sure she was who she said she was and that she ordered what she ordered.

the highs the last few days have been in the 30s here.

There's some snow on the ground still from three days ago.

I stopped by the outfitter today to pick up my last pay check and they had just sent out a giant family of Filipinos, they rented 8 canoes (16 people in total) and it's been below freezing all week! they do this every year, and last year my boss assured me, one of them jumped off a dock into the lake when he dropped the boats off for them, and it wasn't as nice as today was.

More emo in my books.
Gay guys, suprisingly, draw a line on make up wearing for some reason, even the stereotypical femmy types.

It was all over the news about two weeks ago, I think we even had a topic on it in here.

What got me was the way Rowling announced it, as though it wasn't a big secret or anything.

Ah--
I've been avoiding news, except the local news in the SJ Mercury News.

But I did catch some wind around here, but I thought it was some of fad or joke... I thought some slash writing had somehow broke through.

Well, it was certainly news to me.

In the interview I heard she made it very clear she always had it in her head that dumbledore was gay and that she was only spurned to say it directly when the writer of the latest movie brought in a female ex of his.

Does anyone else find it disturbing fli's always the last one of us to know gay news?

Awesome. Just be careful not to cut yourself on some of the unfinished metal surfaces (ie, when some of it feels like it really needs a good shove, make sure your hand isn't going to slip and get gashed), and ground yourself by touching the metal frame of the system before touching the circuitry, and you should do just fine. Good luck. :D
