I'm ok with all of you crybaby punks as long as you cut it out with the pompous-ass Roman talk. It's annoying and unrelated to anything being discussed anywhere. You people want to babble about Biggus Dickus or Incontinentia Buttocks or whatever, go make a Roman Club at C&C. It'll fit in wonderfully, ringht between the Anime Rape Club and the Fun Math Crew.
Yeah I'll stop referencing antiquity when it is fitting to the conversation... when I am ordered to by great Caesars ghost!

Sorry Malachy I was going to ignore this but twice it one to many. It was one fucking letter get over it! What absence of a life would lead you to waist free time correcting internet posts!? I dislike stupid people. Often those of an age of 15 or less are stupid people.
This concludes a generic complaint regarding the Politics forum. Thank you.
So I'm basically awesome.

Well.....part of us pointing out the mistakes is so you CAN work on them. History and spelling are intertwined. Thucydides spelled things just fine.....

Simon and the who-done-what-now?
I remember being taught the story of Paul converting Simon the Sorcerer, if that's what you're refferencing, but as a Southern Baptist I never learned the stations of the cross. That's something unique to the Catholic Faith, I believe.

I had to punch it up in Power Tabs before I could recognize either of them, to be honest.

I'm starting to get really aggravated trying to learn multi-hit combos in Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3. I started a 2 player game with myself so I could have a punching bag to practice on, and I'm still not getting this stuff... though every now and then this little dude in a purple shirt pops up and goes "WOAH!" for some reason I haven't quite figured out yet. Fuckers.

Simon of Cyrne was the merchant whom the Roman forced to carry the crucifix for a little while for Jesus.
3 of the gospels mention him...
But, would there be a picture of Simon carrying the crucifix in an illustrated Bible for Protestants?

Oh that... yeah, we're taught about it. But it's not usually something that's often spoke about or glorified to my knowledge. I wasn't even aware of Saint Veronica or her actions on the road to Calvary until I read Memnoch the Devil, if that means anything to you.

No, not really. Just something I'm a little surprised about. Probably because my bias tells me that if it's canon to us it "should" be to you as well....
My own ignorance speaking, that's all.

Veronica is part of the Apocrypha. I don't think the Protestants read it as "required reading" but I think most Catholics are aware some of the stories.
She's featured in Passion of the Christ... She was also featured in Gibson's The Passion of the Christ. Very briefly... She wipes his face, and he leaves off. It was a tongue-in-cheek type of scene, I guess...

Not Protestant.
It's important to me because in my screen play version of "The Things They Carried"-- I wanted to show the cross being carried. But, I want to be accurate and I thought, "Would an Native American Protestant soldier in Vietnam would be looking at an illustrated Bible that has the image of Simon of Syrene."

Serious suggestion - go to Wal-Mart and look at the Bibles they sell there. They're pretty much all going to be geared towards Protestants, and they may carry an illustrated edition.
I own quite a few translations, that whole literature major thing you know, but none are illustrated, sorry.

It seems the US is too embarrassed to talk about it anymore. I mean, there was news stories when the canadian dollar was on par...but nothing after it actually became stronger. In the first reports they were like "it's something to watch and by next week it may even be stronger" and sure enough the next week rolled around with a stronger Loony yet nobody going on about it like they had when it was simply close...

Literature majors are notorious for buying multiple translations of the same text for comparison purposes. I have three different versions of the Homeric epics, two translations of Dante's The Inferno, two Korans, an English translation of L'etranger and one in the original French, and four translations of the Bible (King James, New King James, CEV, New American Standard, and some of the little mini NT ones that people hand me on the street).
So it's not that literature majors care about the Bible particularly (although lit majors who are ignorant of the Bible suffer terribly, as so much literature refers to it), it's that we care about having multiple texts to draw comparisons between.

My Microsoft Office Home and Student came in today
It really sort of bothers me that my computer only came with a 30 day trail of office works. That's just fucking stupid! Why by a new microsoft computer if you don't get basic microsoft programs?! what next? IE on a trail (oh I wish..maybe my computer would open links in firefox)
either way. Bill Gates is a tranny whore and I'm $125 poorer.
