The new 5 cents coins suck.
I blame Chile.

They told us during orientation last week that the store manager gets an itemized report of who uses their employee discount card and on what, to help ensure that employees are not buying large quantities of certain materials that could be used for a contracting business or to help setup your own appliance dealership, shit like that...
I'm just wondering what's going to go through the store manager's mind when he reads MY list of recent purchases. Last week; I lent my card to my dad so he could get stuff to work on a deadbolt for our backdoor (which he promptly had to return in order to exchange for something in the right size).... yesterday, I bought some corks to use in a wine bottle incense burner I have and a set of "welding tip cleaners" (micro fine files) to work on my guitar with... today I bought a steel bristle brush for cleaning sharpening hones with, and a fruit punch gatorade. ;-D

you get a discount card?
where I work we don't even have a scanner for items on our retail. Our reservation forms are 3 layer carbon copy paper.
I mean, our outpost on the edge of a wilderness area is completely off the grid and the phone is relayed off somebody's barn down the road to get to the land lines.

I've been having fun with that thread, finally, I'm putting my Economics classes to practical use ^_^
THe Real is worth more than the peso, and it has been like that for a long time now, meh.
But we've got Chinese growth rates, so ha!

Reguarding the sci fi origional movie Highlander: the source
Plot. A bunch of immortals lose their immortality and hunt around for the source of their power while being chased by Voldo from soul caliber.
This is very much a movie of the t.v show but even by that rating it gets a c at best. The dialog is weak, the action is subpar in a series that had always done it well and the ending was weak. Granting the recent anime as number 5 and this as number six this follows the highlander tradition of Odd=good and Even=retconned out of existance.

I saw it too.
I found the idea for the plot interesting. a number of immortals lose their immortality...but how they all just let mccloud just have it? wtf there needed to be some much better fight scenes.
Sci Fi is pretty sad at movies. my fiancee loves those horrible sci fi movies...but even she was disappointed by The Source

Well in all fairness only Methos just gave it to him and that was in character. But you're right about the fight scenes. How are you going to have highlander with bad fight scenes?

The weird thing is they kept implying the world was ending but it only looked like the apocolypse was like a week ago.

than it is deemed that this movie is not highlander. period.

yeah, the whole "world is in ruins" thing...and it looks like its been even longer because of that tribe of crazies in the woods (who really should have put up more of a fight!!!

I rather enjoyed the movie. The animation/live-action mix was actually pretty cool (if not a bit of a headache) but the plot was good, and at points surprisingly funny

I think all Americans should move to Canada, and leave Cellardoor6 behind in order to impregnate himself, and form a hypernationalistic society, which we will then parody on various television programs, such as Saturday Night Live.
Hilarity will ensue.

it had so much more potential though and the ending wasnt as 'shock-amazing' as i expected it to be. i swear im going to die of sleep deprivation one day and yeah i liked it but probably only due to the animation. i want to see if i can replicate that in photoshop/ illustrator.

There was this time where I was using my scanner and then there was a power blackout. So I kind of just stared at it in the dark for a while.
Also, Dinosaur Comics are both mind-boggingly stupid and genius. Great phrase such as this are aplenty:
"All I want out of life is for my bank account to have 58,008 dollars in it, so that when I read my statement upside down, it says "BOOBS"".

Also, "Waking Life" uses the same animation technique and in "The Machinist" Christian Bale plays a man who hasn't slept in a year.

yeah but waking life looks lame. and the machinist does? i wanna watch it though, it looks like a good movie. cant believe christian 'batman begins was a shit movie' bale lost that much weight to play the part.

The Machinist is a good movie, well done, decent story, but not great, and hardly original or surprising. I couldn't believe how skinny Bale was. How the hell do you do that to yourself?
Also; Batman Begins was awesome aside from Katie Holmes.

oooohhh--
why didn't I think about this one during the holidays before the user name lockdown.
I remember people would change their names to holiday versians... "Banta Claus" and etc.
I could have used "Sci Fli" for a Halloween one.
*blinks*
OOOOOOOOOhhhhh god, why do weird thoughts come in my head when I'm dead tired?
I've been working like a dog today. School, business, applications to new jobs... I'm barely getting home right now, and I haven't eaten since 11AM in the morning.
Was starting to eat left overs until I pushed it away. That's how I got fat . Left overs at odd hours.
Blah-- I'm tightening the belt.
Even as I type this, I got my eyes closed because they heurt so damned much... amazing, huh? (not really...) But my cousins in Mexico are impressed that I can type with my eyes closed.

i eat a whole bunch of junk food and i think im 5 pounds above my ideal weight but it never changes no matter what. i could eat a dozen burgers in a week or nothing at all and my weight never really fluctuates. it's weird and it's really annoying.

I've been 145-150lbs since about age 14. I wont go up too much after a season of a sport, or a year and a half of nothing.
My fiancee complains she gains weight over the summer. I don't notice it, maybe she's right...
but seriously, if anything I look almost the exact same now as I did when I was training in sports year round.

But not Fli.
And, Stafff, I'm going to be in Worcester this weekend. So more then likely, I will be hunting you down.

I'm not on the regulars list anymore?
What the fuck happened? Did I get a life or something?
Oh... Wait... that's right... metal and strippers happened.... my bad....
BTW, I'm pretty sure I'm playing Sex and Violence in a month or two. This is a BIG deal for a whole lot of reasons. There's a good chance of actual video that I can hold and snuggle and post on youtube like a fucking whore.
I wrote a three paragraph tirade today about how I don't give a shit about warrantless wiretaps because compared to all the other rights they've stripped from us, it's a fucking non issue.

http://www.hot-fat.com is the website of my favorite local band.
they used to own a old short school bus that they spray painted and it was cool and awesome.
they are sort of on hiatus so they lent the bus to another band, and the other band killed it.
:(
that bus had a lot of good drinkin times surrounding it

My weight right now is about 210. I know a lot of it is muscle but that still seems like a lot. I've started back up on the treadmill so I should be lean and sexy in no time.
I was on the very end of the regulars list. That's what I get for spending so much time with the new sims expansion. They let you be a pirate AND a ninja. As for halloween, I might go lumberjack.
And Fubnk, I'll be watching your video with my zippo out, because I'm a geek like that.
