Flowers over the internet is a very intriguing idea, how well is this market covered? I've looked around at few sites that came up in a goggle search and their interfaces were hideous. If somebody were to put something together with a polished web site as opposed to monstrosities with out of place jpegs I've been looking at I think there could be real potential for revenue. Of course you'd also need a pretty large stock of exotic fauna to back it up. What are you thinking in terms of a 5 year plan?
There looks to be a lot of fun and potential involved, collecting rare specimens, testing crossbreads, you should definitely think about this beyond terms of few extra bucks on the side.
Also don't forget to pay your taxes.

I don't have the professional equiment to do this on a large scale... no greenhouse. No space.
I do, however, have the green thumb. And you're right on the layouts for these nurseries... they suck. But you'll be suprised on how much a rose collector pays for his or her collection and the extent they will pay for roses that are truly rare.
I have an extensive collection... and I've made a recent "deal" with another rosarian who has an even more impressive garden. I can take as many cuttings if I come in during the winter to prune everything for her. And I know each rose by name... essentially, they will be free.
Right now, I'm gonna see how well I can do. Do this at really low prices. Right now, I've figured out that I'll probably lose profit if I use name brand bagged soil so I'm looking at a source that can sell me a lot for a low price and I think the Monteray Mushroom Company may give me compost for free because they need to haul it away after they've harvested the mushrooms.
Maybe in the future, I can do something good. But right now, I'm just propogating 5 roses per bottle and they're types people would grow for either novelty or beauty.
Also don't forget to pay your taxes.
ditto.

I owe everybody a bit of an apology, because that's not a picture of my area (Portland, Tennessee). It's actually from a set of photos my Uncle gave us on his way back home last year from his vacation through Alaska and the Arctic Circle.... I forget where he said this one was taken, but the filename just reads "Top of the World."
My area is more your typical rural American farmland, really. This is one of my backyard after a storm some time earlier this year....
if someone knows how to photshop the powerline out of this photo, please contact me.

Tennessee has some beautiful country, though I've always liked the Cumberland Plateau region a little better for some reason.

I get so sick of hearing about the plateau, to be honest with you. Whenever badweather happens around here, the weather forecasters either automatically focus on Belle Meade (which is an affluent suburb south of Nashville) or on the Plateu area, as though nothing else was going on.
Meanwhile, a category 3 tornado touched down in Portland, but let's get back to Bob who is on the ground in Belle Meade reporting about this rain event!
I could do it for you.
Thank you. Pm me with your email address, and I'll get it to you asap.

This week sucks.
47 hours of work, 3 AP Classes worth of summer work, driving time and getting ready for school = 5 hours of sleep a night.
I should be okay, I took Sunday to Tuesday off to work on homework.

My Aunt, Uncle, and 5 fo their 8 kids were coming over this weekend for labor day from North Carolina. This didn't bother me, because they were supposed to be here for a few days and be gone. NOPE.... I just found out that not only are they going to be here until this thursday, they will literally be HERE until this thursday because they could not find a campground anywhere to park their camper at because of the holiday weekend.
This is one of those times where I have to seriously question the existance of an all knowing and loving God, and my faith therein.

Well, I'm here safely at my ex-nanny's sisters house; we went to the fair today, that was a total drag. I have a serious fear of heights so I didn't go on any rides. I did check out the ladies though. =D Possibly going shopping (squeee!) tommorow. Then camping, 4 wheelers and gun shooting.
Fun, fun . . . .
