That actually sounds pretty interesting. I constantly get mixed up with people of middle european lineage, but honestly, the only ones I know are Austrian and English. It would be cool to know my genetic heritage.

So my father called and asked me what I want for my birthday. He gave me a ballpark of $100.
What the hell do I want for my birthday?!?

Reminds me of a part of an operetta:
"Yo no me olvido de nada, por mucho que llueva.
El olvido es para los que se van sin pagar. Y yo ya pagué."
Clumsy translation.
"I forget about nothing, however much it rains.
Oblivion is for those who leave without paying. And I have already paid."
The character is about to face the rain of oblivion, in case you wondered what he was talking about.
But what does this has to do with anything? I don't know, my brain works like that.

caught some Food Network...
watched some Paula Dean...
OMG... Her recipe for "A Southerner's Heart Attack."
Maccaronni and cheese (cold)
bacon
flour, oil, crumbs...
Cut maccoroni and cheese into squares... wrap them in bacon... coat them with a batter... DEEP FRY.
My heart is hurting even at the thought of that recipe...

Oh yes, I know what you would like.
Cuban Cigars. My dad got them when he was doing business in Costa Rica. Don't know how they taste yet.

Disgusting...
I still have a box of cuban cigars my friend gave me in 2005. I smoked one... took a while to stop caughing. It's like smoking burnt hair.
But the smoke is very pretty... wispy and cloudy.
the only smokeing I like is either smoked turkey sandwich...
or even my occasional Hooka.
I liked hookas... I caugh, but not as badly. The water filter out most of the irritants, and the flavors and delicious (especially Rose... although Cantalope can be good.) One hit from it, I'm absolutely melting in my seat.

You're not supposed to inhale the smoke, that's why. They also were probably dried out from being transported, which makes cigars funky.
All the best cigar makers fled Cuba anyway, so Cubans aren't worth it except as a sign of wealth. If you're rich enough to get hold of them and not get caught, then you're somebody, apparently. Dominican and Nicaraguan cigars are where it's at - a lot of Cuban cigar families moved there. I recently tried a Carlos Toraño Exodus 1959 Silver, it was amazing. Toraño is in the Dominican Republic, their cigars are 100% legal and just as good as anything you have to smuggle.
I wish I had more of that one, actually, but it came in one of the premium sampler packs. It's hard to buy less than a dozen of any one kind of cigar online, and I don't know whether I'd be able to procure them at any of the local tobacconists. Anyway, I should probably try some of the other varieties I have first. My little green Iguana candelas are a good standby, as they're small, inexpensive, and tasty. Had a Rocky Patel Vintage 1992 the other day, and it tasted good, but they're square cigars with a tapered tip, and I didn't like the mouth feel or the burn.

Hookas are great... I mean, it's tobacco, but it's good tobacco. It makes you feel so wonderfully relaxed.

Mine was a grey and black Samsung, which combines perfectly with my case :D
See, Frávega isn't expensive.
About inflation, let's not talk about imported goods, that the dollar is reaching 3.20 :\

I'll see about picking one up next time I'm at the funky store I usualy just get knives at. Do you need special hookah tobacco or will it take pipe blend?
In other tobacco news no matter how normal you feel after giving blood do not smoke a cigar you don't know the strength of the same day. I was probably too relaxed to know how sick I really was. But the real problem with a cigar is taking the time out of the day to have one. Great, now I want one and it'll be really creepy outside before I'm done.

Since we were #1 I knew it, we're going slowly back to the 16th position again.

Just go out to the hooka clubs... it's in mode now, so it shouldn't be too hard to find one.
there are three in San Jose, but my favorite is the Giza (the first one, I think...)
There's no marijuana smoking in there, but occasionally I see people make a really quick hit. Once they smell reefer, and the owners gets pissed. Saw one guy get into a brawl one time because he wouldn't follow the rules.
It was my absolute favorite passtime was to blow bubbles... and see them float in white little orbs.
Yeah, google it on the yellow pages to find out where to find a hooka spot.

I would like to take up cigar smoking..it's more refined than cigs, and it would be a nice thing to indulge in since i'm not yet 21.
after that I would like to build a tolerance (not like, a tolerance of alcohol...but for the taste) of bourbon or something snooty like that.
I enjoy deep red wines that are more sweet and full, but I can't for the life of me stand a dry, bitter white wine, even with the proper dish.

Not in moderation... it's not destructive
I may like the occasonal Chanti. But I ain't classy about it. Cheapest stuf, shove the cork in the bottle, and drink it staight from the bottle with everyone.
Mmmm.. last time I had wine, I mixed it with a generic Coke, and I was drinking it with my friend Reno at Acapulco, 3 in the morning. *sigh*
Memories.
I have a hankering for a tequila and Squirt right now... God dang, it sounds really good right now. I may make it this Saturday.
